I went for lunch with a friend on a very cold Tuesday in January. I looked through the flip card table tent and noticed that the January special is Shrimp and Grits. It sounded hearty and perfect for a cold January day, so I ordered it. The Shrimp and Grits dish consists of shrimp and andouille sausage in a low country gravy over creamy grits. The dish was perfectly spiced--not too hot, just the right balance of heat and flavor. The shrimp were tender, and the smoky andouille sausage added just the right kick. Coupled with the Lowcountry gravy, the shrimp, andouille, and creamy grits came together beautifully, making this a deeply satisfying dish, full of Southern soul. I paired this with a cranberry and club--perfectly made, with the tart juice blending seamlessly with the soda. My friend had the Carolina Dog, at my recommendation (I've had this all-beef Old North State masterpiece here before) and thought it was delicious. My receipt said that Party was my server--maybe Patty, maybe Party--but all I know is that she was great. She was nice, friendly, a great conversationalist, attentive, and a pleasure. It was very cold outside, but our booth was very warm and comfortable. Every time I come, I notice something new--today it was the Chelsea banner on the ceiling. We tried My Way Tavern for lunch on a spring-like Saturday. Being relatively close to NCSU and a block over from Glenwood South, it definitely has a college sports bar vibe. There were lots of dogs present in the covered outdoor seating, including one sitting at the table with its humans. I tried the Freedom Dip, which was really just a French Dip served with French Onion Soup instead of au jus. It came with a very generous serving of roast beef and was served warm with melted cheese. The sandwich was good, although I think the French Onion Soup really didn't go very well; serving it with au jus would have been a better fit. My dining companion tried the The Bogart, basically a marinated chicken breast sandwich. Like my sandwich, the serving size was very generous. She rated it as good but not exceptional. Both of us thought the house-made potato chips were good, but felt that some of the chips weren't thoroughly cooked. Our server was having a bad day and complained about the workload. She explained that if they had enough people working, she would have done a better job taking care of us. For what it is, My Way Tavern is good. If the service had been a bit better, it would have earned a 4-star review. read more

I have been visiting my way travern, about the time they opened in Holly Springs, Nikki was behind the bar back then and Jake was in the kitchen cooking delicious wings. 15 years gone by my blonde hair is almost gray now but I decided to stop by their Raleigh restaurant. Atmosphere is still very friendly and the staff is awesome, Jake is now running floor but he obviously trained his kitchen staff well because the wings are as delicious as I remember 15 years ago. Great sports bar! Visited on a Sunday during NFL time and there were plenty of TV's and tons of staff working. Split the pretzel bites to start which came with beer cheese and mustard, they were super good. For my main, I got the 1lb of wings which came with 8, half spicy asian, half raspberry chipotle ($14), and added a size of fries ($4). $18 is a little expensive for 8 wings and fries, but they were very good! My Way Tavern has became one of my favorite restaurants to watch the games at. The service has been top notch for my 3 visits. The waitstaff was extremely friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu and drink selections. The wings are amazing. The bartender recommended the dry rub lemon pepper which isn't on the menu and they were really good. I also had the fried shrimp tossed in raspberry Chipotle sauce was excellent. Good sports bar to grab some good and well priced food in downtown, but off Glenwood. This restaurant is close to Glenwood, but one of the streets behind the main street so it's away from some of the crowding and craziness of the area. I've been twice and I enjoyed both visits. The restaurant has a small parking lot, but watch the signs because the parking lot is also shared with surrounding businesses. Although the lot is small, there is plenty of street parking all around. The menu is most of your typical bar foods, but also a wide variety of other cool goods. I love how they put a twist on some of the typical bar foods. One things this place is known for is their Mac & Cheeses. They have quite a few cool options and combos for the mac & cheese. The portions are big! I appreciate big portions for my money. On my most recent visit I ordered the Hawaiian salad and it was delicious! The flavors were good and the complemented each other well. There's a large variety of beers and you can taste them. The service is good. You seat yourself which allows for any staff member to be able to assist you. They are all helpful and willing to bring you what you need or provide assistance. Definitely recommend if you are in the area and want to get off the main street of Glenwood. read more

We enjoy coming here, and had a bad experience last time with doordash when ordering food to go. We decided to come back in to the restaurant tonight for dinner, and it was not good. We started off dinner with the buffalo chicken dip, or should I say soup. It was very watered down and flavorless. The dip was good in the past. I ordered the french dip without horsey sauce, and it came out with horsey sauce which was disgusting. Our waitress was pretty much nowhwhere to be found the entire night. We Doordashed from My Way when we arrived in Raleigh on a Sunday evening for a three-day conference. We didn't feel like going out, and the menu online looked pretty good. I ordered the Freedom Dip with Fries and my friend ordered the Babe Sandwich. When the order arrived, I received chips instead of fries. I think this was serendipity. They were fantastic. We both loved our sandwiches and would definitely order again. Since we didn't go to the restaurant, I can't comment on the ambiance or service. I swear I am not one to do this because I work in food service, but the service was like absolutely atrocious. I swear I'm not exaggerating when I say we got our waters and our waiter didn't come back for 30 MINUTES. when we finally got his attention and ask to take an order he says "oh i thought someone took your order." .... are you not our waiter? I'm all for a new spot--first time in Holly Springs. We were hungry and already downtown Holly Springs. My friend suggested this spot. The menu said that the mac and cheese is better than your Grandmother's r. Well, my Grandmoher is dear to my heart and has been long gone. This has got to be one of my new favorite bars in Raleigh! We visited My Way on a Thursday night when a couple games were on and the place was full! The atmosphere was awesome and the bar looked great! Even though the place was full we were able to be seated right away which was awesome. It took us a second to get menus but with how busy the place was I wasn't surprised and the waitresses were really helpful snagging us some in the rush. My boyfriend and I weren't to hungry so we decided to split an entree of wings and we of course had to try the loaded spud. The food did not take that long at all and it came out hot and fresh which sometimes doesn't happen when the bar is full like that so I was impressed. The wings were great, we got them dressed with the My Way sauce which was a mix of spices and sweet BBQ. The wings were large and flavorful, paired with the homemade ranch they were delicious. This was my first time trying a Spud and when it came out I was shocked by how huge of a portion it was. I used my hand for size comparison but the thing was filled with gooey cheese and crispy bacon pieces. I also added a little of the homemade ranch to my side of the potato which really took it home for me. Overall My Way is a great bar to go and have a good meal with friends and watch a game or just hang out! The atmosphere of the place along with the great food is why I wish I would've heard of this place along time ago. read more

Cool place to play trivia or to watch a game. They have a good selection of drinks and food items. During those times the bar will be pretty busy but they'll usually find a way to seat you or you might be able to grab a spot at the bar. In terms of food I recommend their hot dogs (tasty and good price) as well as their chicken tenders and fries. If you like home made chips that's also a good option for you as the portion is generous. The Reuben is VERY salty so I don't recommend it. read more

A young man named Jack is fantastic. He's friendly and inviting. He greeted my mom and me today with welcomed energy. It's so lovely out, so we decided to sit outside. Due to the pollen, Jack quickly cleaned up our space outside. He recommended I go with the classic medium wings, and boy, was he right. I'm from Jersey, and we love good wings. This is my new wing spot here in Raleigh! The beer selection is significant, and you can get a dollar mimosas on Sunday! He knew the right time to replenish our waters, and we never felt like he wasn't being attentive to us. I will come back because of the food, most notably, the experience. Thanks, Jack! I have been to My Way Tavern many times. Last night I went and ordered buffalo chicken tenders and extra crispy fries. Dinner came out with half cooked fries and chicken tenders doused with what I think was Redhot sauce, not buffalo sauce. I have buffalo tenders there before and these weren't buffalo tenders by any stretch. .I ate a small bit and then asked waitress for a box saying I didn't think they were buffalo tenders and they were not good but I'd take the rest home and doctor them up at home. When we got our bill the waitress said the manager took 20% off my meal. The manager should have comped my nasty meal and thrown the leftovers away. I probably will never go back. I tried to go to their website to email them directly rather than publicly trash my meal but their website would not let me email them. If you go there definitely do not order anything buffalo style!!!! read more
