Today was our first order, and so far... so really good! I'm going with four stars since it's just our first order, but we will definitely order from here again. We had shrimp fried rice - some of the most flavorful that I've had, lots of shrimp too. Also, Singapore Noodle - very good, and surprisingly they don't skimp on the meat - Beef Chow Mein - noodles were cooked PERFECTLY, I just wanted more to go with the beef - and lastly, Crab Rangoon... also delicious, could use more crab. I've tried to go during normal business hours before and after covid and they were closed. I thought they were out of business, drove by 3 days later and they're open. Wings is located at 6822 Calumet Avenue in Hammond, IN. The food is FANTASTIC and they're "super quick". Whether you're picking up your order or having it delivered, it'll be quick. Wings is your PERFECT little Chinese food place. You don't eat there, I mean, there's a table and a few chairs, I don't see why you couldn't eat there. I guess if you had to or wanted to you could - but why? I order from there at least three - four times a week, I love the shrimp fried rice. They give you a HUGE amount of shrimp fried rice with every order too. The egg rolls are excellent & I highly recommend the Broccoli & Beef. If Wings is anything, it isn't BLAH...oh, there's always that ONE person whose got to knock it...go against the grain, if you will, but 999 people out of 1000 would definetly say that they would love WINGS! Wow! I've been looking for a good chinese restaurant and tried Wings for the first time earlier this week and it's so delicious! We just had to have it for dinner again tonight. The vegetable soup had plenty of vegetables. The beef chop suey had plenty of tender beef in it and the vegetable chop suey tasted great too. Been living here over 20 years, and now and then order from there. The Wonton soup is great so is the Singapore noodles but as far as Chinese vegetables go, you will find zero. Barring water chestnuts. I go downtown Chicago to 3 Happiness and when I order Szechuan beef it comes with baby corn bamboo shoots water chestnuts peapods and tons of other Chinese vegetables. The Szechuan beef Mongolian beef and many other dishes at wings only have sliced onions and green peppers swimming in about a pint of sauce! Since when are those Chinese vegetables? The orange Empress in sesame chicken are exactly the same except for what they pour over it, and there's only like two pieces of broccoli. Great chinese food. The eggrolls are awesome and actually have meat in them. The lunch specials are amazingly cheap, 3.95 and after 5 they go to 5.50 and they give you a lot of food. It tastes good. Its a carry out place so no eating in. But try it, you'll be surprised. read more

We have been looking for a new Chinese restaurant for awhile...we like combination fried rice, egg rolls and Mongolian beef. Wings was a big disappointment, the rice smelled and tasted burnt. We asked for spicey beef and it wasn't and didn't have many veggies. The rice came in the smallest containers I have ever seen, I didn't know they made them that small. I would definitely have to agree with Tony G. on this one. I was a long-time advocate for Wings until the past year or two. The last two times I ate there I was, in fact, sick the next day. Their food used to be flavorful and high quality and recently neither of those two characteristics of good dining have been up to par. I've seen the cook/owner guy go back and forth to the liquor store nearby since I live nearby, and have also witnessed him urinating in the alley. I hate to crack down on Wings after having liked it before. I'm not sure if my tastes have changed or Wings has, but now everything they make is way too salty for me. Additionally, the last two times we've eaten here people at my house have gotten food poisoning (though it has never been me). While it's possible that all of these things are coincidences, I can no longer recommend Wings to anyone in good conscience. The only thing I actually liked from this place were the egg rolls. The pepper steak had such a weird fatty texture and the two younger kids working there were pretty rude to the lady behind the counter. "Hello, Wang's?!" This is usually the answer I get when I call in to order my Chinese food. It's laughable when a person thinks about it, and the more often you call in to order, the more you just want to call and listen to the cash person say, "Hello, Wang's?!" Now, of course, if it's offending, then I apologise. But otherwise, on to the review. Wing's Chinese Food is the place you want to go if all you have time to do is go in, get your order, and carry out (basically a fast food type place). It's a walk-in place, as hinted just now, and stores a large variety of China's finest, enhanced with special herbs, spices, and sauces suited for the casual eater. Of course, the soy sauce is still there for the rice; but once you take home a lunch/dinner tray special, equipped with an egg roll, one look at your plate and you won't even remember that you have the soy sauce in the bag! The food is mouthwatering from the menu overhead to the plate in front of you, and one bite of the chicken and broccoli (my usually ordered special) can take your breath away. The chicken is juiced up and tender to the taste, while the broccoli's right there waiting for a crunch into its soft side (but it's the stem that will be the soft yet crunchy part). Put those together and you've got the taste of excellence. On that alone, the rice is nothing less than perfect. Wing's is the take-out restaurant you would want to take home with you for an extra service of rice, egg rolls, chicken and broccoli, or even a patty (some dinner, eh?). It's unfortunate that it's only limited to a corner eatery. With that, the waiting area isn't too big, nor does it hold a crowd for more than two minutes (to those who order early). I've been ordering from Wings for years...I don't live by it but I work by it. I recently moved to Hessville and the closest Chinese restaurant is Lung Wah but they don't deliver. Nobody will deliver b/c I'm too far, but Wings does! Extra points for that. I read the negative reviews so I waited until my family got our food to post mine, just to be sure. Almost everything was great. My daughter 's favorite, Wonton soup, was perfect. Tons of wontons in it. My oldest son's fave, Spicy Orange Chicken, is fantastic, as always. My youngest son's fave, Sweet and Sour Chicken is exactly what you'd expect. ..it'd be pretty hard to mess that one up lol. My husband's favorite, Mongolian Beef, is delicious. Perfect blend of sweet, savory and spicy. It's almost become my favorite. My fave, Chicken egg foo yung, was delicious. We also ordered Pork Fried Rice, Crab Rangoon, Pot Stickers (ask for the spicy sauce as well as the pot sticker sauce...amazing combination) and fried wontons. All fabulous. The only thing we ordered that I was disappointed by was the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce. It tasted too fishy. Didn't taste like the lobster sauces I'm used to and the odor was unbecoming. That's why I gave it 4 stars, not 5. I would definitely recommend Wings, just not the shrimp w/lobster sauce :-) read more
