Came out of work late for lunch and saw the truck in the lot. Yes! I've never had them before but I was too busy to pack a lunch today so I was headed to the car for a powerbar. When I got closer I noticed they were cleaning up. I just missed em. I said hi anyway and they apologized. Then said, hey, do you want at least some chicken? We still have some. I was like, yeah! I'd never had chicken and waffles before. I've wanting to go to Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles forever, but haven't had the chance. I decided to forgo waiting to try it when this truck pulled up right next to my office. I saw that Diddy had this truck cater his son's bday, so I thought if it's good enough for Diddy, it's good enough for me. I really liked it! I get the idea of sweet and salty going together. I slathered on the maple syrup and hot sauce. That waffle was especially good. I think they make their own batter for it. The only thing I was slightly disappointed in was the fact you only get 3 pieces of chicken- one for each quarter of the waffle. Then I would say the $10 price is worth it. I think it would also be really good if they made their own hot sauce, instead of just having the bottled kind. @wingsnwaffles I have mixed feelings here. Found this truck in Granada Hills on a Friday night. On the one hand, the food was good, not great, but good and it filled me up. But on the other hand, it was very hard to eat. Apparently they start with frozen wings because they were very tough and hard to eat, especially without a table, chair and real silverware. Kinda disappointed here. Let me start by saying I didn't eat here. That's why I'm disappointed. This food truck was featured at a Halloween event in my neighborhood tonight and I was all set to order two dinner plates from them ($26 total). They came recommended by a neighbor who had just eaten there. I went to order my food but realized I needed to stop at the store to pick up something so I asked how long does it take to prepare (bc I was gonna order it and then go to the store while I waited for them to cook the food). The guy told me less than 5 mins. So I told him oh I'll go to the store first and then come back and order my food. I asked how long they were going to be there and they said till 8pm. Cool. I left and came back 15-20 mins later around 7:35ish only to see them packing up and closing up the truck. I tried to yell and wave them down to say hey remember me but they didn't notice. So I get to the truck as soon as they just closed the front order window and knocked and said hey, remember me, I just spoke to you 15 mins ago, I wanted to order my food. And he just shirked like yeah nah sorry were closing bc no one was ordering. I'm like ummm I'm standing right in front of you trying to order. Plus it's 7:35pm, you told me specifically you'd be here till 8pm. I really wanted to eat this. He was so unapologetic like oh well, sucks to be you, we're leaving. Moral of my colorful story is I could have ordered the food before I went to the store. But he told me it was fine to wait and that he would be there until 8pm when I got back. If you think you wanna close up early then don't tell customers that. Now you got a hungry slightly pissed off no longer potential customer writing unnecessary 1-star reviews. The truck was visiting the Long Beach Airport today. Cheaper than Roscoes. Most of the time I don't have any luck with food trucks. A lot are overly expensive, taste crappy and the portions are small. This truck is the exception. Prices seemed high at first but after getting the sandwich it was big and worth it. I got the waffle chicken sandwich (no fries but they looked good) mac and cheese and a side of gravy over rice. The mac was great, cheesy and had a little pepper kick. The gravy over rice was good but a bit too spicy for me. Talked to a lot of other customers and employees that ordered and they all said they enjoyed the food. We hired Wings N Waffles for our wedding in Yucca Valley this past October. The food was delicious and communication with them in the months leading up to the wedding was always very prompt, professional and very helpful. Ultimately, we were happy we went with them but I subtracted a star because they were a bit disorganized during dinner. We had 10 tables with 6-10 people per table and at the truck's suggestion we had one table get up and order their food at a time. They told us it would take 7-10 minutes to serve each table and while that seemed to be the case with the first table or two, each table service became much longer and a little chaotic. Many orders were wrong, they seemed to mistaken a few names on some orders which lead to more confusion and eventually we had to send the last of the tables all up at once because it took well over an hour to serve them all and our guests were really hungry by then. I feel bad complaining at all because the food is to die for and every single one of our guests commented on how good the food was. We would definitely hire them again and recommend them to anyone who wants to hire a food truck for their event. To sum it up, communication during the planning process was great, food is amazing but the only hiccup was lack of organization during the service which I'm sure is easy to rectify in future events. read more
