We were surprised to learn that they were hosting their Ugly Christmas Sweater Party that very day and we thought, "how fun!" Both of my parents actually had an Ugly Christmas Sweater on - what chances! I thought it was super disappointing that non of the employees were participating, nor did they recognize customers that were. Not much of a party if you ask me! The food was just okay, nothing to write home about. I tried a smash burger with waffle fries. I did appreciate that happy hour was offered 7 days a week. I had a strong, but good, tequila sour. My biggest reason for three stars is service. It was lackluster at best.

It always seems like they're upset with us, but I don't think they actually are? I like the vibe of the place, and I love anywhere with a claw machine, kids seem to enjoy it too. The food is decent, pretty much what you would expect. I ordered the guac and roll burger, which was good but could use a little more flavor. Nothing to complain about though, just not as seasoned or spicy as I would've preferred. Overall, still a good experience, just a bit odd.

I had a really nice experience here!…read more Food was good and service was friendly. I've been finding it more often that after a full portion at a restaurant, I still feel a bit hungry, that's mainly due to just the general shrink-flation effect, but that was not the case here! Bob's Mac burger, with two 1/3 pound patties, left me not even being able to finish my fries It was definitely a hardy meal! The patio did seem a bit, lacking in shade, but it was late in the day which rendered the umbrellas, mostly ineffective. There's not a whole lot that could be done about that. We walked in the front door and requested to sit on the patio, which caused us to be redirected to a different host. It turns out you can just enter the patio right from the parking lot, so that was our bad. The first host was super friendly and attentive, but the patio hosts were really distracted, and it took them what felt like five minutes to finally greet us. Overall, we had a really good time and really enjoyed the food. I would definitely recommend checking this place out! It also seems like there's a pretty good value in some of their specials, so I'll take a look at their website and pick the evening if you wanna go since the deal is change!

First off inside is pretty nice , spacious with lots of seating and green plants and lighting There is a decent bar area with bar stools and high tops We got seated right away in the bar area without a reservation so that was great The host was super friendly as was our young server- she explained it's a scratch kitchen and craft cocktails so everything is made in house Cocoktails to start were the Lavender Haze and their Boulevardier- both were good around $14 each Apps- yellowfin tuna stacker - this was really tasty , light and refreshing , palate of 4(see photo) We ended up sharing the Chimchurri Coulette Steak served with smashed potatoes and asparagus This was good but too much Chimchurri for me and the actual meat lacked flavor I did however love the potatoes and asparagus and the Chimchurri aioli!! The crème brûlée was a little too sweet for me but was a great deal at $9 Looking forward to trying their brunch and coming back again for more menu items or just to sit at the bar

I came here with my sister and a friend while visiting home from where I currently live in Miami. There are no Ethiopian restaurants in Miami. None at all! And so every time I am in Minnesota, I HAVE to stop! We ordered the veggie sambusa, my sister and fried got the Ethiopian tea, which also comes with a teabag of English Breakfast on the side in case caffeine is desired, and I ordered the Ethiopian coffee ceremony. Yes, ceremony. The tea is hot and filled with spices and comes in a clear glass mug. For those who have not had Ethiopian coffee before, the coffee is brewed in the same clay container with the grinds and the vessel is then poured straight into a small coffee cup. The vessel has a narrow and long spout to pour out the liquid and not the grounds. It is flavored with different aromatics that I wont even try to identify. Cardamom, maybe? cinnamon? Alongside the coffee is an incense-like natural rock that burns to provide a pleasant and accompanying aroma. The server explained the name but I cannot remember it! It was a perfect introduction to what would transpire to be a great lunch. We ordered also the lunch super vegetable combo platter, which has each of the vegetable dishes laid out on a large plate and my sister and I both got the lunch portion doro wot. The dinner version comes with 2 pieces of chicken whereas the lunch comes with the drummy alone (still plenty of meat!) My friend who has a lower tolerance for spicy food ordered the steak tibs. The tibs came out on a sizzling skillet and each doro wot in an individual dish/bowl. It was a LOT of food but we dug in greedily. The server provided two extra baskets of nijera for us in addition to what came with each dish. Tibs were tender and the smell of toasted rosemary added to the aromas from the tea and coffee ceremony Unlike a foible of some wot/Ethiopian dishes, the doro wot was well emulsified and had no layer of oil, which just highlights the care taken to properly cook the stewed chicken and blend the spices. Needless to say, there were plenty of left overs which were gone within 24 hours at home. Congratulations, West side suburbs! There is a GREAT Ethiopian restaurant in your neck of the woods! No need to haul yourself over to downtown Minneapolis or over the river to St. Paul when you have this great restaurant in your backyard!

One of the best dining experiences we had in a long time!…read moreUpon entering there, wasn't anyone at the hostess desk so we walked up to the counter and were quickly directed to the last remaining open booth in the restaurant. Our waitress came over and brought us water and menus right away. She asked if it was her first time there and we said yes, and she genuinely got excited about being able to explain the menu and the experience to us. She walked us through the options and made recommendations taking into account our an anticipated spice tolerance. We wanted to try a variety of things so opted for the half-and-half platter, which had three stews and three veggies - even though we were warned it might be a bit spicy. Based on her recommendation, we also got the rolled crispy kitfo roll appetizer. The food was delicious. Each bite had a different flavor and it was balanced well with the salads and veggies to tone down the spice when needed. Our favorites were the lamb stew and the beef stew but as we watched other items get delivered we were clearly making our list for what to try next visit. I can't understate how exceptional the service was. Our waitress was an absolute gem. She kept walked us through the menu, explained the way to eat the food with the injera and kept checking on us, even offering rice if it was too spicy. An extra bonus was we had a lovely couple next to us that had dined at the St. Paul location before and they asked us how we liked it, what our favorite was and also recommended a specific drink for our next visit. The food was great but the service and environment made it stellar. We will absolutely be back...hopefully soon!
