    Creme brulee
    Kari E.

3.5 stars, maybe? The food was just ok, especially for the price. My steak was fine though a bit overdone (requested med, there was no pink). Wings were ok. The dry rub wasn't as tasty as I had hoped. We paired with spicy honey mustard (good) and blue cheese (great). I had a pink pony club cocktail which was tasty and I got a nice buzz from. The creme brûlée wasn't the best but it was good. Service was great. I think our waiter was Steve/Stephen? and he was very attentive and friendly. I always judge service on how well they refill my water and he was on it. The restaurant is nice. We were kind of in a back corner which was fine but I maybe would have liked to be closer to the "action".

Seriously. Watch out, look out, the Grackle has taken first place easily in my reviews. Yes, it was busy. Yes, there was a wait - but who cares!! It is that good (ok the Perfect Storm Burger) Welcoming staff, amazing server (thank you Crystal!) and great food. I tend to order burgers while in travel and the Perfect Storm completely clew me away! Amazing flavor, perfectly cooked and the ideal bread to meat ratio. Kudos to the owners who are staying with the idea of a scratch kitchen, the food quality speaks for itself. In these times of over the top restaurant prices, I have zero issues eating here. Highly recommend Grackle!!

Potato dippers up front. Dipping sauces on the side. Wild rice burger in the back. Go get 'em.

This place is pretty wonderful. The challenge with being consistently good is they can get busy especially in the weekends. Make sure to check if you need reservation's. Today was Potato sippers with sauces. The sauces are pretty awesome. We got Sriracha, ginger lime and Thai chili. The sandwich was wild rice burger. It's pretty darn good too. Coffee today as it's a mellow one.

Our next visit was very yummy and we expanded beyond the appetizer menu. I waffle a bit between 3 and 4 stars but at the moment it's my favorite restaurant in Maple Grove so I'll stick with 4.

    Seared Halibut

The seared halibut was fresh, flavorful, and a generous portion, the lemon pistachio cream was incredible! The dry-aged pork chop was juicy, big, and topped with crispy sweet potatoes and fig glaze such a great combo. Plenty of sides to choose from, which is a nice bonus. The plantain was just okay, but the other dishes more than made up for it. Service was a bit slow, but understandable given staffing. I'll definitely be back!

Had a lunch meeting with NBC's John Ziegler (Minnesota's best meteorologist) and we decided to try Grackle. The vibe is great--such a noticeable upgrade from the previous tenant but honestly, the food is even better. We ordered the tostada salad with spicy shredded chicken and the steak wrap, and both were outstanding. They've also got a really solid drink list, but since it was a lunch meeting we kept it simple. We'll definitely be back--next time with our wives, there is lots more to try!

Quick pleasant service. Asked about their coffee and how brewed and type - light or dark. Server nicely provided a sample of the brew of the day. Both my portion and my partner's were of adequate size. For the price the soup was just right.. and reminded me of the old fashioned chicken wild rice soup the church ladies make - deliciously creamy. Seating area in the bar was nice quiet and clean for a mid day lunch.

Met 2 friends here for brunch. The inside has great natural lighting and a nice seating setup. Although the service was spotty our server was polite. It has a typical American menu with a variety of choices. Amongst the group we had: Artichoke dip- flavorful Shrimp tacos- sweet and spicy French toast- the flavor was good but too mushy for my liking Cheeseburger sliders- typical but liked the grilled onions

Dry rib chicken wings with a side of ranch and the sweet Thai sauce- get the sauce on the side! The dry rib is delish!

I have passed this place sooo many times since it opened and decided it was time to give it a shot! So glad we did! There is plenty of free parking! I would recommend getting a reservation. We got in right away with a reservation, but I saw plenty of people seated in the lobby hoping for a table to open up. The vibes are new, modern and relaxed. This would be a great first date spot! As far as the kiddos, I'd say leave them home for this spot. The service here was fantastic! Our server was Charles and he did a great job making sure our water glasses were full, that we were enjoying each item we ordered and that we were well taken care of! He was a delight! The food: We started with drinks. My boyfriend got a beer, which he really enjoyed and I got a nonalcoholic rhubarb lemonade! Very refreshing and a perfect amount of rhubarb! Next was the cheesy tuscan dip! Absolutely get this!! You can pick between bread or chips and I think either would be delicious with this! It was creamy, cheesy and wasn't too hot when it came out! For entrees, my boyfriend got the salmon burger and basically inhaled it! He said it was done very well and had great flavors! I got the dry rub chicken wings from the appetizer section. Do yourself a favor and get these, but get the sauce on the side! The dry rub was delicious!! When I saw creme brûlée, I knew I had to get it! So many places have this as a dessert item and fail at making it correctly! This place is not one of them, and dare I say the best in the twin cities!? It was cool, creamy, the sugar was done well! The flavor was spectacular! I'll definitely be thinking about this for awhile! Save room and give it a try as well!! I would absolutely recommend this place!

Fried Yuca & Tomatillo Cream Sauce & Apple Vinaigrette
    Crystal D.

Walking in I was marveled at how chic this restaurant looks. I was able to get a seat at the bar right away. Service was great checking in frequently. I decided to do mango everything and it was the perfect pairing. My drink of choice was Unwritten (by Natasha Bedingfield), it was light, sweet, and refreshing. The Mango Shrimp Tacos were beyond unique. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, with a lot of spice. The mango, toasted coconut slaw, and honey-lime aioli helped tone the spice down a bit but added to the overall flavor of the meal. I will get this again and again! The Fried Yuca with Tomatillo Cream Sauce & Apple Vinaigrette was a great side. Recommend trying all the sauces as they did not disappoint.

First time visiting Grackle, Celebrated a birthday party with 8 others. Everyone's food was delicious, service was great, everything top notch. The atmosphere was very nice, Parking was a little hard but we all found a spot. They have delicious sauces for dipping fries etc.... There Crem bro le was enormous and to die for... will for sure be back to try many more dishes.

The atmosphere was beautiful, bar service was delightful, the eggs were fluffy indeed but needed more flavor.

Easy parking. Beautiful exterior and interior with great vibes and ambiance. The restaurant has great energy and plenty of seating options depending on occasion or group size. Service was friendly and interactive. Kitchen service was was quick getting out food, but the bar service was slow getting out drinks. Order: Dry rub chicken wings with sweet Thai sauce on the side. Delicious crispy exterior that was perfectly seasoned. Interior was juicy. If you know you know always have sauce on the side to dip if needed. These were good with or without sauce. Crispy potato wedges with dipping sauce. Crispy and seasoned perfectly. Honey mustard and Calabrian chili sauce were delicious. Ribeye steak with smashed potatoes and asparagus. Cooked perfect medium rare temp but the fat was not rendered enough and created many fatty bites. Cream brulee dessert. Delicious. Just what you would want. Overall great experience.

The dark wood tones and dim lighting is very cozy. There is a nice patio just off the parking lot but it was a bit drizzly so we elected to sit inside. The bar looked like a great place to sit and dine but we were grabbing lunch so decided to sit in one of the booths. The booths are all divided by glass and plants which makes for a quiet and private dining experience. Our server Courtney was pleasant and attentive. I like the menu as it didn't have a huge selection. Simple and a nice variety of apps, salads and entrees. My husband and I both ordered the Filet Mignon Cobb salad. $26. Bacon, egg, blue cheese crumble, corn, tomato, red onion, smoked onion ranch dressing. We both thought it was refreshing and tasty. The smoked onion ranch was delicious. If we are ever in the area, we will stop in and check out the dinner entrees.

The bathroom was cute. The service was fast, olives minutes after we ordered, my favorite two dishes 12 minutes after ordering and paella, 12 minutes after that. It was not great. The problem? I think it was because owner/chef Rene Ruiz Olivar was acting as waiter, not chef. We gave Sr. Ruiz the freedom to choose our tapas, with one exception, the black ink pasta with scallops and shrimp (Tinta Negra) that reviewers have raved about. He said, no problema--he would serve it. Then he must have forgotten because we never got it. The first tapa served, almond-crusted manchego (Almendrado), was plated prettily and was delicious but oh-so-sweet. It was an odd choice for a starter, would have been better as the finale in case nobody ordered dessert. Soon came a lamb tapa (Cordero). The lamb chops' quality was uncertain as the meat was severely overcooked. El Bodegon's langoustines (Gambas al Ajillo) had given every bit of their sea flavor to the sauce, which was magnificent, we all agreed. But where were the dish's promised mussels, the rice? One shared plate, a beef tenderloin tapa (Carne Brava), had apparently lingered too long in the kitchen--the meat was nearly cold. I adore papas bravas (Patatas Bravas). I must have had the dish a dozen times or more during my last trip to Spain, in 2017, when I visited friends who live in Ronda. During my six-week stay, we toured Andalucia, staying at hotels in large cities and visiting small towns. I also spent time sola in Madrid and Barcelona. Unlike in Spain, El Bodegon's potatoes were diced to death. Never in Spain have I ever had patatas bravas that were not substantial in size. All in all, I found the vegetables accompanying the tapas unrecognizable except for the tiny Brussels sprouts. The rest seemed chopped up or stirred to pieces in the pan. Some of my friends had churros for their dessert. They deemed them appropriately hot and tasty. My dessert was cheesecake torte, decked out with a candle as it was my 90th birthday. The torte was a gold-star winner. It was absolutely delicious, its plating the most successful of the evening. It was so perfect it almost made up for the sub-par tapas that preceded it. One of us had a view of the kitchen from his seat at the table. He saw a man other than the chef/owner doing the cooking. Was he a trainee? Did Sr. Ruiz help with the plating? God knows he didn't have a lot patrons to contend with in his role as waiter. It was a slow weeknight, and there were never more than four tables occupied. I sincerely regret that our time at El Bodegon differs from so many reviewers. Like them, I want to see Sr. Ruiz's little restaurant succeed. He has a hard row to hoe, and I hope a disappointing dinner like ours does not befall anyone else going forward.
