I've been going here for years and I might not go back... The new lady with braids that works the front desk is terrible, I mean absolutely terrible... I hope she gets fired or I hope someone higher up sees this because not only did she treat me poorly, she's just horrible at her job... she doesn't answer the phone, doesn't get the orders right, cleans tables while people are sitting at them, resting the new garbage bag on my booth and almost hitting me with the old garbage, she doesn't care about her job at all... she needs to go work somewhere where customer service is not involved, she doesn't belong around any human beings. Every single time I come and she's working I know I'm going get my order wrong and dealt with an attitude... besides that the food is always great. Food is good but whatever you do call before you go there. This site says midnight, the sign on the door says a totally different time and neither one is correct. The last three times I've gone there depending on the times listed, it never was open. It's doors are never open according to anytime they have listed anywhere!! While traveling in Minnesota and staying near by found Pappy's it is made to order! That said it was quick. Place is clean and there is a steady flow of people. Decent food. I go here every now and then for chicken when I don't feel like cooking and have time to wait. Food takes a while because it's made to order. It's hot and fresh when you get it. In most experiences here the staff aren't really friendly. You may or may not be greeted. I walk up to the counter and sometimes they kind of just look at you until you start saying what you want to order. You order then they just go back to whatever they were doing, and you wait until your name is called. The wings are small but good & seasoned well. The fries are okay. They get soggy quick. Sometimes I take my food to go & through it in the oven for a few minutes to get it crispier. The prices are fair for the amount of food you get. My opinion about Pappy's is I've been coming to Pappy's off of 252 coming from Minneapolis and they're right there on the way to my home I'm not going to ever say their food is bad, I do believe that yes they're chicken wings are crack wings and they charge way too much for those little crack wings. I've had their sandwiches not at the Brooklyn Center location but I've had a steak sandwich at the one in North Minneapolis if I was going to eat from Pappy's again I would rather go to the one in North Minneapolis or the one in St Paul on White Bear Lake my complain about this place is one time I came in with my sister-in-law couple years ago she's from Chicago she ordered some wings asked for no french fries and it just seemed like the cashier still charged her for those fries when he shouldn't have maybe give her a reduced price or something so he had quite an attitude and not only have I ever noticed that with just our experience I can see that in their face and I can see them treating other people like that and I'm going to tell you right now they don't act real bad all the time as far as being rude but you can tell they are tolerating the customer that comes into their establishment. I don't want to mention what race the people are that own this establishment but I know they're not white or black people but I do notice a certain race will camp up in a area where more African Americans live and it seems to me that is being done because they want our money because they know we want to eat fried foods. and some things that are not even healthy so they know they're going to get our attention with fried chicken and steak sandwiches which is nothing wrong with that but they know how to market. they camp up in certain areas and then you know taking our money but treating us like a piece of s*** and I think not only do they need food inspectors in these restaurants they need inspectors that are checking out how the restaurant is treating their customers and that should be a big deal because nobody needs to go spend their money in a place where people like that are treating them like a piece of s*** how do we know they're not spitting in the food so I would be careful about choosing where you go to eat. This is one place that I have wanted to try. True I have been to other locations but this place did not disappoint. It seems that even though this location has only been open a few months I really liked my hotdog. Honestly, like way better than you'd ever imagine. Whatever might tell you to skip the no name corner joint for another lackluster night at your favorite chain is wrong. Eat some real food, dipped Italian beef sandwiches, fried Cat fish, beautiful Phillies, they got the works of unhealthy but incredibly delightful food. Legit. This place opened near my home sometime this year. I've been meaning to try it but kept putting it off. Finally, made my way in and happy that I did. Their menu is quite extensive with lots of great-sounding options. I went simple and got a gyro sandwich... Freakin' delicious and under $6. The place was clean and seemed family owned/operated. At least, that was the vibe I got from the two people working. They were friendly and on-point.
