Been here a handful of times since they've opened. I always call in and order since I don't like to wait and they always say it takes about 14 minutes for my order to be ready. It actually takes less sometimes which is a plus! I always get the 10piece combo and they never fail to disappoint! Wings are OK size but I mean can't really be expecting huge wings. I'd have to agree with Connie below in that the wings aren't that big. You will get the occasional deformed piece which looks weird but its still a wing! The recently opened Wingstop in Santa Cruz is, as you'd expect, just like the many other Wingstop chains. Decor-wise, food-wise. Their 10-wing meal comes at around 10$, but you get fries, a soda, and a sauce. Personally, I like to skip the fries and just order 10-wing combo with a soda separate. Their fries CAN be good, but usually they tend to be soggy and can leave you feeling bloated. Also, this places comes with an awesome soda machine, where you can revive soda memories that were once lost (such as vanilla coke). The location is also great. It's near the 24-hour Safeway, and it's open late so the college kids with the hunger, and hopefully a car, can visit to have a late dinner. read more

My first trip to this chain and to this strip mall like location was over the weekend. We tried 3 different types of boneless wings (maybe that was part of the problem) and they were dry. Whats the deal with no napkins at the table? Wiping my face with public school hand drying towels is not comfortable. The waitress seemed put out when asked a question, not to mention bored. Disappointed! I usually am hella down for Wingstop because it's good food to grub on, but this place location was just so BLAH. I finally came here with the boyf because I had a CampusCred deal for $10 when I only paid $5! I have been wanting to go to this location especially because I head about their cool soda machine. That machine was too hyped up. All you do is touch screen whatever you want to drink! I just mixed 2 flavors together: Strawberry lemonade with Lemon lemonade...UHM. right. We got the Teriyaki and Lemon Pepper wings. Wings were drenched in sauce, just how I like it. However, the wings were super small. Barely any meat on it! It was like all bones. The fries are how they should be, sweet. I have been to better Wingstop locations, but this one will have to do. The spacing inside the restaurant NEEDS to be bigger if it wants to accomodate more students. Since it's in a convenient spot next to Safeway and it's a college place to go to! Always friendly service in there!!! Love those guys! They put he sauces on the side like we weirdly like and they never complain. We come all the way from the other side of SC to go there so it's nice to know we're gonna be taken care of! The Louisiana Rub is worth a try ONCE other than that I wouldn't frequent that choice. To be fair, I only went there one time- but I don't think I would go back. I got traditional buffalo wings. They didn't have much meat on the bone at all- which was fine by me because they were overcooked and yet you could still taste freezer burn. They were inedible. Louisiana Rub Bone in or boneless are the bomb.com. We have had hooters, wild buffalo wings and we STILL come back to Wing Stop over the other places. The fries are a-mazing! Food is good and the staff is great. Staff is always polite and helpful. They always rush to help myself and the other customers in my experience. (I especially enjoy when the blond girl takes my order as she's very sweet!). Wait times have been a bit longer but it is summer so that's to be expected. I was hoping for an alternative to Buffalo Bell's, but not sure this will be it. Maybe I should've ordered the regular wings instead of the boneless things, which were way too FRIED tasting with too much breading. Are the regular wings any less so? That's one thing I prefer about BB's, that there isn't a lot of fried breading, ick. I'll give Wingstop another try, real wings next time. I love it here, most of the time. They either get it completely right, or the wings and fries are totally wrong. Some days, the wings are so saucy, juicy, and well cooked. And the fries are delectably seasoned and delicious. Other days, the wings are over cooked, shriveled up, crunchy and the fries are soggy and disgusting. Oh well. I still love eating here anyway. Food is really good! I love the BEER BEANS!! A lot of the staff really doesn't care and 3 out of 4 times ill get a rude cashier, these teens get your order wrong almost every time. I have payed for extra honey mustard many times and most of the time they give me 1 or ZERO. I have called back because I normally get it to go and many times I have heard "why didn't you check to see if we gave it to you". They are rude when THEY make mistakes and act like its your fault, I'm not the one getting paid to check the receipt. They need to staff the people in there are in professional and rude! I've been here a bunch of times and each time, there is something negative about the visit. Today, I ordered over the phone and was told my order would be ready in 5-10 minutes. Alright, perfectly reasonable and a quicker estimate than the normal 14 minutes. Upon arriving about 15 mins later, I pay for my food and am told to wait a few mins. This is where it goes downhill for this visit. I wait for about 25 mins while people come in after me to pickup food or get their order who had come in after me. At this point I'm slightly annoyed and go out to ask about my order. The lady at the counter asks for my name and then goes back to get an order that had been sitting there for at least 20 mins (they just never bothered to call my name like they did the others). So I get my food and get home to frys that are soggy and cold, wings that are super oily, and to top it off, I'm short 3 wings from my 25 original ones. So after waiting approximately 40 mins total for food, it was basically inedible and there's not even another alternative to Wing Stop in town. Not sure how this place gets by but I know this has happened more than once to me so I'm sure its a normal occurrence. So eater beware, this place is not as good as any other WingStop out there. read more

I do enjoy wingstop because they have the bomb flavors like lemon pepper and original hot. However since they opened up in Santa Cruz they took all the business away from Buffalo Bells and they closed down. The only thing this place needs to fill that void is a 50cent wing night. However they have good flavors and the soda machine is from the future! I swear when I first saw it I creamed my pants because the flavor combinations for sodas were endless. I thought I knew beverages of deliciousness, but I knew NOTHING! It takes a while for your food to be ready so if they are busy call in first and you get it faster. Whenever my large group of friends all go there I order in and I wait around while they all order and they wonder why I don't order my food. I wasn't impressed by this Wingstop. I was disappointed to find that the quality and portions of my order were subpar compared to experiences I have had at other Wingstops. For instance, I ordered three boneless chicken strips, but ended up getting pieces that looked more like boneless chicken wings. The strips were about half the size of what they are usually. Another thing is that the fries were soggy and not seasoned as well. Needless to say, there are minor adjustments that could be made. Even though my experience was not as great as I hoped, I will most likely be going back due to its convenience! I am so happy that they opened a Wingstop near UCSC. If you're looking for 30 minutes of wing-eating bliss, followed by an ensuing food coma that makes you regret everything in life, then Wingstop is the go-to place. Lemon Pepper and Garlic Parmesean are two of my favorites. Fries are always good, and the soda machine has every possible soda combination you can think of. Compared to other locations, I always felt like this Wingstop had bigger wings. A 10-wing combo here is much tougher to tackle than 10-wing combos at other locations. After being tired of cooking for all eight of my roommates, I love to come to wingstop with a few friends and pig out on some wings. Being college students, this was a great place to hang out and get in a few sodas, The store is small, but the wings are always crispy and flavorful. They give a large amount of fries, and their honey mustard is the best. In the end, I am not a big fan of the price, again college student, but its a chill hang out place and some pretty tasty wings. read more

Such a poor experience here. Ordered online, since the option was available. Almost 2 hours for us to get our food. When we called and asked to talk to a manager they put us on hold and he never picked up. The cashier said she was unable to call the driver but that he was out for almost an hour before delivering our food (which was cold and soggy). The driver didn't follow any of our directions, call the proper phone number and wouldn't even drive to our house in a cul de sac. He made us walk to the end of the block to pick it up and then wished me good luck with my finals... I'm in my mid 30's. I also emailed corporate to talk about my experience and they didn't respond. Wings are the best and I have yet to have better wings than at wingstop. This wingstop is ran by a bunch of young adults and they are all so very nice and make the wingstop environment fun. I love wingstop. This wingstop however is terrible. Their manager is incompetent (the red headed manager is an imbecile) and their service is abysmal. They have consistently gotten my order wrong- not just once but four or five times within the past month. They do not respect the promotions and coupons offered on their own website. I normally call in so that I won't have to wait and can just get out but that doesn't seem to help here. They will tell me 20 minutes but actually take 45. I have also been shorted on wings multiple times, given eight wings instead of ten on multiple occasions. Do they offer any compensation for any of this? No, just more horrendous service and ineptitude. Get wings elsewhere. Go to Parish Pub next door for better service and wings (cheaper during happy hour), or even Safeway. Don't make call in orders to this wing stop. They get the order wrong, they rush you through it, don't offer anything. I won't elaborate on specifics of my horrible call in experience. Just go in person, the customer service isn't amazing it's mediocre but at at least the only complain will be that there was a line of two people. Best wings I've found in Santa Cruz but the service is terrible. Have never once gotten an order delivered to me on time, even when using the app or website. My advice: order with the app and show up 15 minutes after the email confirmation tells you your food will be ready. As I write this review I'm waiting for my wings which were supposed to be ready 20 minutes ago and three people in front of me just asked how much longer they'll be waiting for their orders.
