Holy sh*t! I'm not an avid Wingstop goer. In fact I've probably only eaten at Wingstop a handful of times. Back in Modesto I used to go to this great family-owned wing place all the time and I just never felt the need to go to a Wingstop or any other fried chicken place for that matter. But ever since I moved to Santa Cruz I had cravings for those wings I used to know and love. A couple days ago I decided to order some wings through the Wingstop app, and boy oh boy that was a good decision. I got the 10 piece combo with lemon pepper and buffalo and I gotta tell you, they were crispy, juicy, and incredibly flavorful. I had to drive all the way to my house along Soquel, and my wings were still piping hot when I got home. The fries were crispy and the seasoning is top notch. I'd even go as far as saying that these wings were BETTER than any wings I've had before this! The group of guys and gals that served me were especially helpful too! There was this one guy with long and silky beautiful hair (his hair was NOT greasy), and he made sure that my wings were made right. I saw him tossing my wings around in a bowl and his form was impeccable. He was comparable to a greek statue. I think his name was Leo? It could've been Liam but I couldn't really hear over the sound of the loud (but not explicit) music that was playing. Anyways that Leo kid should get a raise pronto! I know that there are sometimes situations one can't control or things just get super busy, but bruh, if you get so busy you, maybe, forget an order that was placed nearly 2 hours ago and I call you, please don't bullshit the customer. Tell me you forgot. Don't tell me it is 'literally out the door' and then 30 minutes later when I call again, say 'actually it is literally out the door right now'. Bruh. Not only that, but the woman who took my calls was so rude and hung up on me to avoid my inquiry when it was only the 2nd time I called. I literally gave this Wingstop 1 hour benefit of the doubt before I got upset enough to call.. I have ordered from this Wingstop on 3 separate times and each time the food literally took 2 + hours to arrive. I think it's safe to say this Wingstop will no longer be for me. Wingstop chain gets 3 stars in general, but this place deserves a 3.5. This store has opened recently and it looks like your typical Wingstop location but it is decently sized. This is based off of one visit, so their wings were okay but their fries were just a little too salted and were soggy too. I guess their fries here are not thin and crispy but sport more of a larger and softer feel to it. One thing that Santa Cruz residents can rave about this Wingstop other than having a Wingstop here in general is their amazing fountain machine. It offers a great variety of drinks, with so many different flavors. Of course the knock on this is that don't expect your fountain drink to be carbonated. Who knows how long those drinks have been sitting there, that being the problem with so much variety. Next time I go back I hope for their fries to be crispy. Wings are consistent, favorite being Lemon pepper as always. May just try our their atomic wings and pay for it on the toilet seat. read more

Ah..Wingstop. It is what it is. You go there if you want greasy wings and fries, and if you're prepared for a possible food coma. I get the most random cravings for it, and I think anyone who likes wings is a fan. My absolute favorite flavors are the BBQ, original hot, and garlic parmesan. The BBQ is great if you like lots of sauce. The original hot is a little less saucy, but reminds me of buffalo wings the most (they're also pretty spicey). The garlic parmesan doesn't really have a sauce so they're a little dry, but delicious. Their fries are also to die for. Lots of seasoning. And they offer ranch and honey mustard to go along with them. Then, of course you gotta go for the huge soda machine. This particular Wing Stop has always been a good one. Nice service, a little slow to finish the meal, but you always get exactly what you ask for. Which should be wings! read more

I'm a little ashamed to say this, but this was probably the first Wingstop that I've ever been to. That being said, I thought this place was the sh*t; i'm not sure if it was the "heat of the moment" or this place has gotten progressively worse since then. After the first time, I've been to a few other locations around the bay and I can confidently say that they were better than this one. Let's talk about the chicken, my favorite flavors are lemon pepper, garlic Parmesan, and Louisiana rub. I understand that these flavors are supposed to be salty, but omg, it's like their chicken is coated in salt (and oil). On the bright side, I've learned that I should always order take out so I can go home and eat the salty chicken w/ rice. I suggest ordering some sides as well because it provides some redeeming qualities to the chicken The service is okay, but sometimes it takes a while for somebody to help you. I usually order online now and the wait can take pretty long (plenty of time to make rice). Overall, Wingstop is a nice change to my diet if i'm feeling lazy and craving fried chicken. It has convenient hours and pretty good deals for students. However, this location has VERY salty chicken but their sides are good and affordable. I eat here often and I always get my wings exactly as ordered, but today was a little bit disappointing. We always order the garlic parmesan with extra parmesan but one of our orders of garlic parmesan didn't even HAVE any parmesan on it. It was very upsetting honestly. Also, the wings were full of grease, which has never happened in any previous orders, but today it seemed as if the cook didn't drain the wings very well. How are more people not annoyed with this place? The wings at Buffalo Bell were so much better and the staff was a million times friendlier. Unfortunately they closed. Now I'm stuck with this POS. I appreciate the concept of "making it to order" but it takes about 20 (up to 25) minutes to get a simple order of wings and mostly-uncrispy fries. The soda machine is fun though I guess. The staff is not friendly and very put-offish; I don't enjoy interacting with them. The wait is so long for mediocre food. Do not go there during a lunch break as your entire time will be spend waiting. I'd honestly rather just go to Panda Express across the parking lot. ADVICE: ORDER ONLINE!! This is only my second time going to wingstop ever. My first time was in Watsonville. I never felt like it was worth the 20-30 minute drive but now that it's in SC, it's definitely worth the 5 minute drive. The wings were delicious but I was disappointed in how small the wings were. Came to this location for the first time a few days ago, and..... they were sold out of classic wings?!! How can a wing place be sold out of their classic wings!!! It was my first time and I had a coupon so little help could have gone a long ways. Instead she was very curt and annoyed with me. SUPER BAD EXPERIENCE!! Tried calling for an order and no luck so I made it online, thought to my self, no worries they must be busy. When I get there I notice the business phone unhanged so no call can come in, a separate customer and my self brought it to the girl's attention and she just ignored it, melody i think was her name, (per the receipt). There was only 2 employees both on their phones, i payed attention to my carry out bag since I noticed the poor attitudes I noticed when the bag was placed on the counter for 2-3 minutes while both of them were in their phone leaning on the counter and then once she was done with her phone grabs my bag and calls out my name, all of this while I'm just watching them from the other side of the cash register, I was even skeptical about eating the food! As a college student, when I get sick of eating at home, one of the first places I think of going to is Wingstop. This is a LIFE SAVER. I am so glad they opened up a store that is so close to school. I usually order a 10 wing combo with a 5 free wing coupon. I get 5 lemon pepper, 5 hot garlic, and 5 garlic parmesean. Mmm... that sounds so good right now. Anyway, the wings are pretty consistent in quality and flavor, and so are the fries. Sometimes, they'll throw in an extra wing or two if you're lucky. The soda machine here is from the FUTURE. It has a ridiculous amount of flavors. Every restaurant seriously needs one of these. I usually get peach sprite or peach mello yello... goes perfectly with the the wings and fries. When you order, call ahead, so you don't have to wait. You can also get a 5 free wing coupon off of the Campus Special website if you are a college student. Best food in Santa Cruz! Their wings are so addicting! I usually get wings when I watch football...so multiple times a week. My favorite flavors are lemon pepper, garlic Parmesan, and atomic. And you can ask for lemon pepper or Cajun fries and they are both way better than regular fries, even tho those are good too. YOU HAVE TO GET RANCH!!!!! The ranch is the best! Honey mustard is really good with the fries. And if you get boneless wings Louisiana rub is the best flavor by far. Service is great ( I usually call in)! The tables are kept pretty clean for a chicken wings, sauce everywhere type fast food place. *Food: we ordered the 15 piece COMBO and usually you're only suppose to get ONE CUP but we got 2 :) Yay! I love how they have special student deals. Their service is great and they're super duper friendly. But I don't like how most of the times I order their fries...it's soggy & not fresh. I don't like how more than sometimes, their wings are extremely small :/ to the point where it's just bone and skin...then it doesn't taste all that delish. I'm not sure if it was because I had the Cajun and mango habanero boneless wings but man I felt sick the next morning through the early afternoon. I was at work and I had cramps and had to go to the bathroom alot. Which was a hassle considering I'm not suppose to leave my post. Your typical wingstop chain but with an awesome soda machine. This store opened recently and pretty much took all of buffalo bell's business. The location of this wingstop is fairly easy to find since it's located in the plaza where Safeway is. There was a fair amount of tables/seats in here. Onto the food. The wings here were just average. Nothing WOW about them but what can you expect from a chain fast food restaurant? The fries were a little crispier than usual. They tasted a bit overcooked but luckily, I like my fries that way. Overall, I'll be back for more when I'm craving for wings and if I'm too lazy to cook food. -1 star for their service. The employee working here was probably a student at UCSC and it took just over 30 minutes to get our food for a non-packed wingstop. Obviously the employee working here got food for herself and all of her friends who DIDN'T pay first. +1 star for the soda machine so that gives this place 3 stars when it could've been 4. ***Parking***: HUGE parking lot convenient for all the businesses located in this plaza. I love Wingstop! I get to-go orders from here a lot because I always crave chicken. I usually like to get the 10-wing combo that comes with a drink, a dip and fries for around $10! The service is nice and pretty quick. i really like how they have those touch screen soda machines! I haven't been here when it's super crowded so it's nice. Their boneless wings are pretty good and a good size. Sometimes the meat on the bone-in wings are a little less and they never end up giving extra wings unlike other Wingstops, but at least they don't stiff you here either. WINGSTOP! I love love love wingstop and was super happy that there was one in made in Santa Cruz and it is SO close to where I live, which is a definite plus! As for the food.. I mean, you can't go wrong with Wingstop. Once in a while, the lemon pepper is a little tooo greasy but that happens at almost every Wingstop so I can't blame them. They just added a new meal on the menu, which is 15 wings, large fries, and 2 drinks.. perfect for two! Also, might I add, their soda machine is pretty cool.. there are so many different flavors!
