She used airbrush foundation (so cool!!) and contoured my face (tricks of the photography trade), and took photos of me afterwards in different light to make sure I was photo ready. I was looking for a place to get my hair blown-out and styled, and to get an airbrush makeup application. I found Ashley on Yelp and read nothing but great reviews, so I decided to make the drive from Redondo Beach, and I couldn't have been happier with my choice! The salon is inside her "literal-definition-of-cool" lofted apartment, which was super easy to find. I did a drive around the block to look for a street parking spot, but found one in under five minutes on a late Saturday morning. Her sweet and friendly cat named Reece, aka Reece's Pieces, greeted me at the door, and also sat in my lap while Ashley blow-dried my hair! Her apartment is filled with hip art, and has bumpin' tunes coming out of a Pandora Radio station. My hair sat in curlers while Ashley applied the airbrush makeup and tried out some new makeup accessories on me. She welcomed my feedback and reminded me to look into the mirror to my side throughout the process to check in and make sure I was okay with everything she was doing. I was so happy with the end results, and I'm so glad I went to Ashley. She was so friendly and down-to-earth, and we had a great conversation. When Ashley left for her honeymoon for a month earlier this year, I was already due for a haircut. I didn't even bother going anywhere else. Ashley's cuts are always worth the wait. This woman has seen me from mop top to mohawk and everything in between and I've never had a bad haircut. Well, what can I say! Ashley did an amazing job on my hair and make up for my wedding and made me feel like the princess she turned me into on the day, I'm so happy with how well she handled my mass of hair which falls to the top of my bottom and made it look like a work of art with intricate brading and I was still able to have half my hair flow down my back in beach waves, Ashley was very professional and so so friendly, such a sweetheart. Her energy is contagious and makes you feel like you've been friends forever (and not in the gross, superficial way that some girls do). She's also brutally honest. I was lucky enough to have my hair colored and cut by Ashley as part of a Homerun deal. I've never had such an enjoyable experience having my hair done; Ashley really listens to what you have in mind and has great stories about her modeling and hairstyling experiences. She really knows how to make a gal feel welcome : ) Her kitty, Reeses, is gorgeous and a delight to have purring on your lap as your hair's cut. I also love that she uses vegan hair dye; the auburn color has faded out a bit, but it still looks great 5 months later, and I received many compliments for weeks afterward. I'm incredibly lazy when it comes to doing anything with my hair, but with Ashley's layers it still looks really good without any maintenance! One note: her place is located within the center of the condo/workspace complex, so you'll need to have someone let you in. I was a bit anxious cutting off about 8-9" of hair to donate. I had some pictures of generally what i had in mind of the style I wanted and she was able to cut it exactly how i wanted, working around the 9" initial cut for donation. I've been travelling around the US for the majority of the past year on extended vacation - however, someone forgot to notify my roots that they could also have some time off growing through... Have spent many, many hours on Yelp scouring each city we land in long enough for a stylist/colourist to do my...well, do. I was really nervous about getting my hair cut by someone other than my stylist at home (Hawaii) and so I looked on yelp for something close. Ashley did not disappoint! Her studio space is great, allowing you to relax without the noise of a large salon and she is very friendly and fun! I went in not completely sure what I wanted to do with my hair, and she suggested a great cut that turned my half-straight/half-wavy hair into a gorgeous hair-commercial style that grew out beautifully. I went to Ashley for the new vegan hair straightening method called Realisse. I've gotten the Brazilian Blowout in the past, and let me tell you this new system is MUCH better. If you've never had a Brazilian Blowout, you should know that the formaldehyde in it is not only harmful to you (& your stylist), but during the 3+ hours you are getting your hair done the stuff is so pungent it burns your eyes & nose so you have to wear a mask and goggles. Ick. Not only is Realisse formaldehyde free, but it is scent-free, which means no goggles or mask. Also, Ashley didn't even need to wear gloves. It's been a few days and the results have been no different than the original Brazilian: shiny, silky, smooth, frizz free!! Thanks Ashley I will be back :) read more

I came here to get my hair done with a good friend for her wedding, and we were all very happy with our experience. Ashley is a seriously cool and nice person - visiting her studio, you feel like you're hanging out with a friend who happens to be very talented with hair and makeup. She uses fabulous products (I seriously never wanted to wash my hair after she was done with it, because it smelled so good!), and managed to make my super long and curl-resistant hair hold pretty curls for over 12 hours. She did a fantastic and very interesting up-do type bun for the bride that looked amazing and held up the entire night as well. She also has two awesome kitties, one of which will sit on your lap and be your best friend as she does your hair. Highly recommended! read more
