O'Reilly Auto Parts is easy to find in the bay area. There's usually a few in every town. Their competitors may have just one. The one is smaller than most. Not many parking spaces. Not as much inventory depth as bigger stores. Ride been having squeakin noises around the power steering. Time to get another bottle of synthetic power steering fluid to keep on hand. Not gonna wait till i run put to rush out to buy one. O'Reilly's is auto parts labeled by sections. Easy to find anything once department is identified. "Chemicals" was it. Needed wiper blades for my Prius and I couldn't figure out the right type or size. Drew (who was super busy) noticed that I was struggling to find the right information and immediately looked up what I needed on the computer. When I asked if he knew how to install the rear blade, he said yes, and would I like him to install it. (there is a sneaky way to do it and the manual is no help) I said yes and within 5 minutes he had all 3 installed and wouldn't take any payment for the installation. I used to love coming here and everytime there was a guy that was also ready to assist. But when I went last month, it was s*** show, the lady manager was rude and didn't want to help anyone and she said it's only us,I can't do anything. Some customer walks in and asks okay so you can't fix the issue? They left him hanging and she replied back by saying "well you can't see the problem" or something and he got upset and said well I'm wasting my time here. Then I asked for assistance again and she was like well it's just us here. There was literally no one else in the store. Then an employee walks in and I asked her if he can help me. But good thing I didn't because he walked over to the manager and asked who is in charge and she said I am. Then he handed her the keys and said I QUIT!!! I was just standing there. This dude rocks. Luis is absolutely amazing! It started raining this Friday and I needed a pair of windshield wipers because my driver side wiper was broken. I arrived @ 8:15 pm and Luis was my first interaction. Finished at 8:30 pm. He was kind and considerate the whole time! I didn't have any clue what my car's size wipers were and he was soo sweet! He put my worries to ease and was even able to make time to help with a courteous installation as well as a kind class on how to put one on by myself too! Thanks man! You rock! Great customer service! The staff know their stuff. I came here to buy spark plugs for my car. As soon as I approached the counter I asked if they had spark plugs for the year, model and the type of engine of my car. I already knew which spark plugs I wanted which they did have in stock. Although they're going through a remodel or the store these guys and gal are great to work with. They carry some off the wall parts and will tell you where to source stuff locally they don't carry. Just left O'Reilly's and completely blown away by the awesome customer service from Gari, the Asst Manager. Background - Sunday morning and realize that the battery in my BMW is dying. I try removing the battery so I can get it recharged and after several frustrating attempts and a couple of bleeding fingers, realize that I don't have the right tools to get it out. I love German engineering but not sure why they put the battery in the trunk. Anyways, I proceed to Autozone which is my default auto store and they tell me that they won't help me get it out...Autozone is not my default anymore. I call O'Reilly and speak to Gari who tells me to come on over and that he can't guarantee anything but that he will take a look. So I head over to O'Reilly. I stand in line and explain my situation to another Asst Mgr who very casually says he can't help me. At this point, I was starting to get super frustrated and ready to head home and find another option but decided that I would wait for Gari and I am glad that I did. I saw Gari very patiently help some other customers who were in line. After he was done with the others, Gari came on out my car, checked out what we were dealing with and let me borrow the tools that I needed. Super nice guy and very friendly and helpful. Even came out after and helped me put the battery back in. What a nice guy!! He deserved a raise and a promotion!!!! read more

Every time I usually go there? They have what I need? If they font? I'll get it from another store. The current guy's seem to be okay with me. Friendly service so far. Like everywhere else these day's? They have cut back on merchandise. Or no longer sell certain things? But. They do have a variety of stuff online. You can order. But. You'll have to wait a bit maybe? For me being a do it yourselfer. I'm satisfied with this business so far. As far as prices skyrocketing? It's produced by this current installed government. Today is 7/16/17 and it's 3:15pm. Received extremely disrespectful service from a young Caucasian lady employee at the register. I asked a simple question and was met with attitude. She made it seemed like I should have known the answer to the question I was asking. If you have any little bit of common sense, the reason why anyone asks a question is because they need clarification. Poor customer service. Also heard some guy yelling in the store in the back while me and other customers were in store. I overheard him saying that he would leave if he didn't like the "new manager." If management is reading this, please retrain your employees on how to render better customer service. Either that, or fire everyone working right now 7/16/17 at 3:15pm. This review is for the store on 35382 Newark Blvd. I used the order online & pick up option for a pair of radiator hoses. The process went smoothly, however, during installation, I discovered a fine cut about 5 inches long along the length of one of the hose. I immediately went back to the store and showed the person at the counter. Angela, the store manager saw what was going on and came right over and examined it. She pointed out that it may have been cut accidentally by a box cutter. Realizing that I was in the middle of the install, she started looking at nearby stores for a replacement but was not successful. The only option at that point was to repeat the whole ordering process. I was assured that the part would arrive before 4:00 pm that day. As promised, the part arrived, she did some typing, presto, I was on my way! I just want say thank you Angela! read more

Coming here looking to get brighter light for my 2014 honda civic headlight since my current light was not bright enough and I feel its kind of dangerous especially at the night time. I was very pleased on how Mike explained all the diffrent kind of bulbs and recommend me on which one should I take for brighter and whiter light at night. I asked if they actually do with the installation here, he enthusiasly offered to take a look on the car and yes it was do able and help me right away to replace my head lights, it was done very quick and professionaly yet in a friendly way. I had a great experience at O'Reilly's today. I met with Gari who helped me test the battery of my car and the alternator so that he can gauge if I need a new battery or anot. He took it upon himself to go above and beyond his scope of customer service. He even replaced the fastener that holds the battery together since my old one was eroded and rusty and hemade suggestions along the way if and when I need any sort of service for my car. So almost everyone here is pretty cool. Whenever I have questions they all help as much as they can or ask a co worker who knows more. Bryan on the other hand needs to get fired. He has no knowledge and is really rude. I asked him a few questions and he kept saying I don't know or I don't know what to tell you. It pissed me off how he was saying it also. I come here a lot for my basic needs and now debating if I should go to another location. Bryan has the worst customer service and needs a reality check! I can't say I really got what I needed from this place. So, I first call in and see if they know what part I am talking about for my VW Jetta - did they? No. Further, I was passed to other members and then one guy kind of knew, but said I couldn't order it over the phone . . . Weird. So . . . I went it. While the guy who helped me in store was nice enough, he just had no idea what I was talking about. Then, when I took outside to my car, he said they didn't carry that kind of stuff. . . . what about the guy I talked to on the phone? Anyways . . . . the service while nice enough, just wasn't as knowledgeable as I needed. Plus, this is in a small lot next to a 7-11, where a bunch of punk teenagers were hanging out. The customer service here was awesome! It's a pretty big store and they just have one radio up at the check out desk so when you first walk in, it's pretty quiet, which is always weird...but I'm over it. My husband and I went in to buy a new headlight bulb for my Jetta and the associate, I believe his name was Raju, was very helpful and knowledgeable. We ended up buying new wiper blades also since they were having a rebate special on them and he printed out the rebate forms for us and showed us on their website where we can find rebates and coupons for future reference. read more

THIS REVIEW IS FOR GARI, He went above and beyond customer service and he was really helpful and honest. I came in needing a new battery since my car wouldn't start. Gari was super attentive from checking the status of my battery if it needed just a charge or a new one, and we realized that my battery needed to be changed since it was more than 6 years old. He gave me a good deal on the battery and installed it for me as well. I've talked to the manager a few times (Ken) and is very helpful and knows his way around cars and the store. Let me start by saying that I come here because it is convenient as it is close to my house. Last week I bought a thermostat for my honda and installed it right away. They claimed it was OEM spec but my car was taking way too long to get to operating temperature. I basically had to drive 6 miles before it got to temp. For anyone that knows about cars, this is bad. Not only does it take long for your heater to work but it also wastes more gas and wears your engine out faster. Unacceptable! So I removed the thermostat and installed an OEM honda thermostat and everything is good. I go back to O'reilly's to return it. After waiting patiently in line I get to the counter and tell the guy I want to return it because its not operating to OEM spec. He asks "did you install it?" Me: Yes (how else would i know its not working right?) Guy at the counter: We don't return parts that have been installed Me: But its not working as it was suppose to. Guy at the counter: I can exchange it Me: I don't want an exchange that most likely is going to work just as bad, I already bought an OEM one. Guy at the counter: I can't return it, how would you like if we sold you this part? Me: you did sell me that part and I'm not telling you to resell it. Guy at the counter: Well you're going to have to talk to a manager. (he points to the the guy across the counter that's helping someone else and by this time there's a line of 5 people waiting to be helped) So then I'm just standing there not knowing where I am in line. Guy at the counter: you see that lady outside? she's the other manager Me: so am i suppose to go get her??? (WTF) Other manager at the counter: I'll get to you, I have these customers in line me: I was in line He finally gets to me Manager: what can I help you with. Me: I want to return this part because its not working as it should and my car takes to long to get to temp. Manager: like what do you mean? are you driving it from a cold start? Me: Yes. I have to drive about 6 miles for it to get to temp. Manager: Well that's normal, its been cold out lately. Me thinking to myself: are you kidding me? its been like 70 degrees most of the week, we don't live in Alaska. Me: I've owned this car for 18 years I think I know that its not normal and my car is working just fine now with the OEM thermostat. By this time I'm pretty aggravated. While I was waiting to get helped I read the refund policy on the back of my receipt which states "O'Reilly has the option to refund your money instead of replacing or repairing a part" Manager: We don't return parts that have been installed. Me: Where does it say that? your policy states you can refund my money. Manager: I'm not going to argue with you. Me: Do you even know your policy? read the back of the receipt. Manager: I'll refund you under warranty but this is the last time. Are you kidding me? last time? what does that mean? do i come here returning parts all the time? I came here 3 weeks ago to exchange a water pump that was under warranty that broke after 20k miles which was a replacement for the first one i bought here that broke after 5k miles. So the only time I've returned anything here is when your crappy parts that are under warranty break. But don't worry this is the last time I come here. Where does O'reilly find these clowns? I've seen better managers at Burger King. You're seriously going to stand there and tell me I'm wrong when I'm clearly right?? And all over $12???? Great management style guy. Same impression that I always get at an auto parts store... that glare about being a woman... as if i had stepped into the men's bathroom or something. I had smashed the side of my car where it caused damage to the pain and fenders. I decided to stop by O'Reilly to get pain but I walked away with a fixed fender and not only the exact paint I needed but I was provided with brief training on how to use the paint. Felix went above and beyond. He spent endless effort & so much time to find the right size "bolts & nuts" to fix the broken fenders and the right color paint plus a thorough walk through of how to use the headlight shine product to clean the super foggy headlights. I honestly wanted to hug him bc he was so helpful and so kind about it. Also, during my time there the rest of Felix's team were so nice and the positive vibes helped with the wait : ) if you need anything for you car, this is the spot! You'll not only get what you need but the expertise and support! This place used to be Kragen Auto Parts. I guess that they got bought out by O'Reilly's Auto Parts. The store itself is okay, but the majoity of their staff is lackluster, or just lame. Most of the staff don't go out of their way to help you out. It is apparent that they just don't want to be there. Not all of their staff is lame.
