Pricing was fair and the best I could find in the area, and they were good about removing the costs for anything I handled myself (I removed old carpet and LVP, etc.) even though there were a handful of staples I wasn't able to pull myself from the stair risers. Just one word of warning, make sure you measure your floor space yourself--their measurements for the work were off by about 50 square feet, which would have made a big difference in the number of boxes of material I had to purchase. I think this was probably accidental from them including the bathrooms but given that _every_ floorer I spoke to provided inaccurate estimates it's best to just do the measuring/math yourself.

Bryan was quick to get back to my inquiry and was at the house to assess the project within a day. 2) Knowledgeable. Our refrigerator had leaked and warped several boards. Bryan explained the pros and cons of board replacement vs letting the boards dry out. We went with the latter and saved money. We had another challenge in the fact that we did not have two rooms refinished which meant seamless color matching. Alfredo was an artist and had an eye for selecting the perfect match. I asked for it to be glued down, tiles selected had instructions for gluing but they were not followed. I was not told during the project the installer was not gluing them down per instructions until the project was done. I am now having to consider replacing it since the floor pops and snaps when we walk on it. I also just discovered that when the trim they removed was replaced the caulk used was kitchen caulk (not paintable) so I had to scrape it off and redo it.

In November 2025, I sought bids to have hard wood floors put in a bedroom I am converting into a pantry and to have my existing kitchen and entryway refinished so that everything would match and I would have ample time for the floors to cure before the pantry installation. Knots Flooring was one of the companies that came to bid the work but I ended up using another company and it was one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made in my life. After two other companies came out and totally botched three refinishing jobs, I had to swallow my pride and reach back out to Knots Flooring for help. Athena was so lovely and gracious when I reached out to her to apologize for not using them and when I admitted that I really messed up but I needed their help desperately. Regardless of my poor decision making, they didn't hesitate for one second to come to my rescue. Brian refinished the red oak flooring in my 1962 home that I was beautifying for sale. The floors…read morehad never been refinished. My main concern was water damage from a waterbed which warped the boards. I was also concerned that the sanding would leave a ton of dust everywhere. Their "dustless" sanding system really works. And the refinished floors were beautiful. Brian left me 1/2 gallon of poly to finish the raised floor (stairway) of the front, coat closet. That was enough poly to top coat all the doors and door frames I was refinishing. I screwed up at the end of my woodwork finishing and left the lid off the poly. I used a higher end stain for refinishing and figured their poly would work just as well to finish the job (just the FRONT DOOR!). It didn't. My "higher end" poly was awful to work with and the end finish wasn't acceptable to me. Brian praised the poly that he uses and that the finish won't yellow. I will praise his poly as a great finish to work with. In general, Brian was very respectful of my house, did a beautiful job, and uses quality products. I very definitely recommend him and would use him again.

Due to some unforeseen health issues, I have not been able until now to get this review completed. Brian, the owner is the one that does all the work from start to finish. He is a real craftsman and cares greatly about the quality of his work. I had water damage from a leaking ice maker and about 14 boards needed replacing completely. Brian had to cut out the old boards and replace with new unfinished Oak boards. Brian also suggested using a different stain than the one we had decided to use. Boy, was he right. The stain he recommended was a much better choice. Brian was always on time each morning and worked each day until each step in his process was finished. Brian had to make several other repairs to the floors before sanding and staining all the main floor. Brian was extremely careful not to get any stain on our new carpets. We couldn't be happier with his quality of work, craftsmanship and dedication to making sure we were 100% satisfied. Brain is easy to work with and willing to handle any additional items, or areas that might need special/extra attention too during the job. And as an added bonus, his quote was one of the better quotes we received for our job. Thanks Brian for the fantastic job!

As one of the other reviewers said, these guys use subcontractors of varying quality. They had to…read morerefinish the floor 3 times because the owner insisted on sending the same crew back each time (which makes sense if using a fixed-price sub - keeps their profit intact). I communicated my concerns professionally (and almost apologetically) with the owner as we went, but I'm not sure that any of them were addressed directly with the crew - rather they were just given basic instructions at the start of each day to fix the problems from the last go 'round. I'll give them credit for trying to make it right, and the floor looks a lot better than it did when they started, but it still wasn't 100% at the end and they didn't want to listen to any more complaints. A list of items specific issues that as far as I can tell were never communicated back to the crew: - The first thing the crew leader did was take a dump in my bathroom, without asking, and made this a daily ritual. - They didn't bother to cover anything up before sanding - no sheathing between rooms, no covers over the vents - so dust was everywhere in the house. At least I had the good sense to turn off the HVAC, but still had to change the air filters several times before they finished the job. - They sanded/buffed the carpet, trashing it where the carpet meets the hardwood. - Stain was applied in some places across grain / boards rather than same direction leading to stripes (1st attempt), and inconsistently leading to dark splotches (2nd attempt). - They used my ladder (from the garage) without asking. - They left gobs of topcoat around trim and puddling elsewhere. - They did not take the time to use filler properly after the second attempt - there are dark spots around nails, knots, and where sanding was rough. - Hand sanding was quite rough in several areas leading to dark stain, especially around trim, cabinets, toilet, etc. And they didn't thoroughly clean or screen before coating in several places, leading to dirt and debris in the finish. - Stain spatter was left on the wall from brush work and flinging wet towels. The sinks were a left an absolute mess. - There was no real cleanup to speak of and patches of grass are dead in the front yard where they cleaned stain off their tools and equipment. - The "suicide cord" they were using to connect to 240V was a fire and safety hazard. After attempting to share my last round of concerns (not asking for them to redo it again but rather just trying to share some of the issues for future improvement), Anthony told me to stop looking so closely and asked, "You gonna blast us on the internet?" indicating his level of concern. For a website that touts their high level of professionalism and reputation, the crew did not reflect it. If I wasn't a professional contractor myself, then this might have been a traumatic experience. And if I knew the crew and could have hired them directly, then I would have undoubtedly paid half as much... but then they might not have redone it 3 times (especially because I would have kicked them out after the second attempt). I never asked for a discount, and one was certainly never offered. I'm leaving 2 stars because on Yelp that means it "could've been better" but for the price I paid to go with the "pros" I regret not giving one of the other bidders a chance.

Update:  It's now been 2 months since my wood floors have been resurfaced, and I'm very happy with…read morethe work.  The crew brought out the natural wood grains, and they show beautifully.  Also the hardener is fantastic.
