I had been told to try this place out by a coworker, specifically their breakfast. On a whim I…read moredecided to go at about 11:45am, hoping they'd still be serving breakfast but they weren't so we had the lunch menu. At first glance, the place is very run down, it has the old southern diner feel, but I don't think they have enough employees to keep the place up 100%. Our waitress was very very nice, she was having to wait on folks and go back to wash dishes since they don't have a dishwasher (at the time of me posting this anyways). Half the seating was closed off and the lights dimmed. Aside from the scenery of the place, this is the type of restaurant you'd take your southern grandma too and she'd love it. You have all these southern dishes to choose from!! I was personally excited to see they serve liver mush sandwiches, so that's what I got. I added egg to mine and it was not expensive at all. It was very basic but gosh was it yummy. I also had a side of tropical fruit which came with pineapple, papaya, and peaches. All of that plus a sweet tea totaled to about 10 dollars. I tipped generously because I felt bad that they had no help. I truly do think this place could be buzzing with business, they just need the employees/help to do it. If you're in the area, I do suggest you go in and try the food, while the ambience/scenery isn't the greatest, you will be served with a smile and get some delicious southern home cooking. I wish the owners the best of luck.

First of all, staff were standoffish/very low energy, cutting us off when asking questions about the very very extensive menu. So, okay fine, moving on... I have worked as a barista in the past so maybe my expectations for coffee shops is higher than others, but even when I've asked for drinks to be made less sweet/no toppings/no whipped cream, they always come out still tasting insanely sweet. If you like dessert-in-a-cup styled drinks, this is your place! This is the first time I've gotten food here and tbh I would pass on getting breakfast here if I were to go again. The everything toast was okay, but very very over seasoned and salty so I couldn't even finish it, and my husband got an omelette with some veggies and turkey added. Turkey was cold and the veggies were raw and to be honest, when I'm paying $40 at a coffee shop, I expect to be able to at least stomach the food and drinks I'm getting. Other than the consumables, the interior is very cute and there's many seating options available.

Of course the current iteration of the MFG doesn't look at all the same inside and the owners/managers are different but that small town, community centered feel is still there. I was recently back in Mo. Falls and visited three time with my dad. He's there once a day anytime the door is open! So you can say that he's more than a regular patron. Service was relatively quick given how busy they were with those eating in and the stream of take out orders. Cash preferred it seems but cards are accepted. Here you'll find rotating daily specials on the dry erase near the door. You can find the daily vegetables on that board as well. Whether you are getting a veggie plate or a daily special you'll want to check the board to see all your options. I generally just take a picture when coming in so that I can read back over after checking out the menu. One side of the menu is breakfast and the other is lunch. Is this a change your life restaurant? Nope but they can't all be. :) Is this a place where you should stop if you want a homey, friendly feel and a bite to eat, sure is!
