Searched Yelp this morning for an early morning coffee spot and found this within a few miles from when I was staying. Great friendly spot with comfortable seating inside and out. Ordered a Latte and it was perfect. Enjoyed my coffee with the free WiFi and knocked out some work stuff. Very relaxing coffee shop. Just a note, the hours posted in Yelp are incorrect. My favorite local coffee shop in Niwot! Winot has great service and good drink choices. I love to get the matcha frappe because it's so good and blended so well! My go to warm drink is the Irish cream coffee, that is always good. They have a nice selection of pastries and also have good burritos. The decor inside is artsy and clean. There is spacious seating inside and outside and a good amount of parking spaces. Will be back! read more

The atmosphere was adorable with beautiful art on the wall and live music. The food was awful, got an extremely overpriced burrito that was microwaved till it was too tough to eat while another person in our party got a bread that was too dry,to eat, to compound our eating experience the staff insisted the door be left open in 40° weather so we had to put our coats back on to eat. read more

A nice spot to stop by especially if your are waiting for a table at the nearby restaurants! We were waiting for our table at the Garden Gate Cafe and saw that the reviews for their coffee were not that hot. Instead of risking poor coffee, we decided to pay Winot a visit. The interior of the cafe is very clean with a chill coffee house vibe. The baristas and cashiers were super friendly and helpful! I got the regular mocha to go and the barista still took the time to do a bit of mocha art! The temperature of the coffee was great (not piping hot so you can sip right away). The flavor was solid too! Was a bit more coffee than chocolate but was still really tasty. We must have hit them after a rush because the plastic spoons and complementary water were wiped. However the staff responded quickly to address our specific needs. Definitely recommend! read more

I did a search on my iPhone for this on Yelp earlier and didn't see it, I thought I was going to be the first :) This location is owned by the same person who owns Folsom St Coffee in Boulder. They suggested I try this one (on their Facebook page) so I could stop driving from Longmont to Boulder for my Kona Mocha Frappe. THIS IS THE BEST FRAPPE EVER... and it tasted exactly the same as Folsom. Now I only have a 10 minute drive for my fix, which could be a bad thing!!! I've been coming to Winot Coffee for years, so I'm surprised at myself for not having written a review. This is my favorite stop along the way to work in the morning. When I have woken up on the wrong side of the bed, I know Winot Coffee is there to put a smile on my face! Their selection of options for both the snooty connoisseur, the amateur coffee snob, and the person who just wants an interestingly flavored drink with syrups and combinations... Are all sufficient to please a wide variety of customers. Their rotation selection of coffee is great, the skills of the baristas is great considering this is a small-town coffee shop. Their art selection usually showcases one or two local artists, and I have bought a couple items from them before because they really stood out. The furniture is comfortable, the patio is plenty to chill on when the weather is nice. Most of all are the consistency of my experiences here. I have never had a bad cup of coffee here. Lattes, iced americano's, cortados, syrupped out sweet flavored lattes, iced tea, etc... Nothing. The drinks are great. Their selection of food items is always tasty and fresh as well for this kind of cafe. You can't go wrong with Winot Coffee, so why not?! :P read more

I don't drink coffee so I can't review that side of things, but the packed burritos were good and the other packaged stuff looked good also. Lots of AC plugs, but Internet was a little slow though, that's a bummer. Seriously considered going next door to the tavern to try out their beer, er, I mean Internet, instead. I adore this local coffee shop. I live nearby so I bring my travel mug here on weekend mornings for a chai or latte after my long weekend run. The inside is cozy. There's plenty of indoor tables and a couple of comfy chairs to relax in. I love the glass water dispenser with reusable glasses. The art on the walls rotates out periodically. There's also a great bar by the counter for people watching. I will say that for some reason my clothes retain the coffee/espresso smell much longer than my visits to other cafes. Maybe that means the coffee beans are fresher! The patio outside is surrounded by the parking lot so views are ok but it gets plenty of sunshine which is the best reason to sit outside. The baristas are great - they're talkative and friendly, and quick with the orders. read more

Great coffee in the middle of Niwot, of all places. It's too bad that an hour is too far for me to drive for a good cup of coffee on a regular basis, because I really liked this place. The Barista / Owner was super friendly, talking about the source of his coffees, roasting, flavors, and all the other stuff that Coffee Aficionados like to chit chat about. We found some cozy seats by the window to comfortably sip our lattes, and we watched the business meetings, solo workers, and local coffee drinkers come and go. ...So THIS is the goodness that happens when there isn't a Starbucks. Ch-ching! Having no time to prepare food at home for my workday, I ran in one morning and picked up a few burritos. It's amazing what they make out of gold these days, because each of these 7 oz suckers cost over $4.00. It cost about the same for the pastry. So, a pastry and two burritos (which I had to cook in the microwave at work) cost over $12.00. And truth be told, they were only passable. You have got to be kidding! The next time I'm in need for a quick couple of items, I'll stop at the Subway sandwich shop in the next group of buildings. I could get seriously full all day long for five dollars and change. After all, there is a recession on, and every penny counts. For that matter if you have your heart set on a breakfast burrito, the guy at La Choza, in the mobile kitchen just off the diagonal next to the Sinclair gas station, makes them better for $3.00/ea... and they're freshly cooked before your eyes! read more

I have had some really nice experiences here in the past, but today the weekend barista was extremely rude to me and my friend. She made my chai practically all milk and was very snaky when I politely asked for more chai mix--it wasn't even barely flavored like chai, it was so milky at first. Then, I tried it and it was still too weak, so my friend, who knew I was upset by the first rude comment, took it up and nicely asked her to put more chai in it for me and even offered to pay extra. Amazingly, the barista actually swore at my friend (using the f-word!) as she put another dribble of mix in!?! I used to be a barista and I always tip and am very appreciative of their work. I am not sure why my requests were so offensive, but I would not expect that kind of treatment even if I had made a very rude request (which I didn't--I even tipped her the first time despite her rudeness). Happily, I hear the weekday barista and the management is lovely, so I hope they will see this review and speak to this weekend barista. I for one will not visit this place again, though. read more

Finding good coffee is like finding a good drug supplier. There's bad smack and there's good smack but Winot Coffee is like pure Columbian grade and I'll take the Pepsi Challenge with that Starbucks $#!+ any day of the week. If you're gonna pay over five bucks to get your daily caffeine fix, might as well drink the absolute best money can buy. They brew their lattes perfectly and turn science into art. One of my three favorite coffee shops. The heart that the barista makes with the foam on top of a latte sums up the care, friendliness and attitude of the staff. My only regret is that they only have tables and dining chairs--no room for comfy couches or overstuffed chairs, I suppose. I stop a Winot Coffee fairly frequently. The coffee and service are good, and the seating area inside and out is pleasant. My only other comment would be that the owners and baristas seem very uninviting, never asking how you're doing or anything along those lines. The attitude is mostly indifference. I went to Old Oak Coffee in another part of town and the difference was night and day...very welcoming and pleasant experience. If Winot Coffee worked more in a welcoming attitude they could be a top notch operation. Just my two cents. read more

We used to go to Tod's in Gunbarrel most days, but lately we've been making the extra 5 minute drive to Niwot for the Winot Coffee shop. The baristas are generally more consistent and less moody at this cafe, you don't get the baking hot, blinding afternoon sun coming in the large windows at Tod's, and the coffee is great. The atmosphere is mellow and the cafe' is roomy -- you aren't squeezed in, bumping and stepping on your neighbor whenever you stand up or sit down. A calm, quiet, friendly and comfortable cafe. Our only complaint is that they close at 4 pm (we'd prefer 6 or 7 pm, or even 9 pm, but Niwot is a sleepy little town that shuts down early, so we understand). The breakfast burritos (vegetarian is our favorite, with salsa on top) and chocolate zucchini bread (Outrageous Bakery) are our standard fare, and we look forward to splurging on them... We can split a 24 oz decaf-ish iced latte, each have a burrito and a chocolate zucchini bread and the total comes out to $23. Not bad. Most places don't even offer 24 oz iced coffees, and being able to share one saves us a couple dollars. However, today we got a second 24 oz iced latte, just because the first one was so darn good... The owner mixes the iced lattes back and forth like a bartender mixes cocktails, so you don't get the hot & cold spots, or random flavors like you usually find in an iced drink -- it's all blended and cold, and SO yummy :-) Highly recommended. read more

I frequent Winot whenever I am home, because it's convenient. The coffee and tea selection are good. Nothing to write home about. However, every single time i've been there 15+ times, the baristas seem like they would rather be anywhere but there. I've never gotten a "how are you?" or a "how is your your day?" any sort of pleasantry. It's unfortunate, but that would be my only downside. Other than that, Niwot is a wonderful, community focused town. I just feel as though if you're in that type of career you should be able to make basic conversation. read more
