That tracks, because the store is frequently low on stock, especially in basic areas. I'm not sure if it's a staffing issue, delivery delays, or just poor management--but it's noticeable. Deli Chicken = Buckeye's Best That said, I've gotta give props to their fried chicken at the deli--it's hands down the best in Buckeye ever since the Love's gas station on Miller stopped serving it. That said, it's hit or miss. Some days you'll get someone awesome who's on top of it; other days, they stop serving 30 minutes early and act like you're bothering them by asking. Still, when it's fresh and hot--it's really good. Checkout Nightmare The biggest frustration by far is checkout. There are never enough cashiers, and even the self-checkout has long lines, especially in the evenings. It's exhausting when you're trying to just grab groceries and get home in time to cook dinner. The quality of the meat is far better than what I've been getting at the big grocery chains, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you're getting. I bought some New York strips and decided to grill one with absolutely no seasoning just to see how the meat stood on its own. It was outstanding. Tender, flavorful, and honestly didn't need a thing. The ground beef is excellent too. Dennis is a true old-school butcher with a ton of experience. He's a gentleman, knows his trade, and you can tell he takes a lot of pride in the quality of meat he puts in that case. I also really like that the meats are locally raised and finished. Another big plus is that you can call ahead and Dennis can cut what you want or need to order, which is something you just don't get at most big grocery stores anymore.
