We moved in the area months ago and we finally got to try this spot. As you walked in, the service was very friendly and the inside is so homey. I only got to take a picture of my order which is a Strawberry Matcha with Strawberry Cold Foam. The rest of my family ordered Regular Mango Smoothie and a mixed of strawberry/mango smoothie for the kids. Overall from the service and the drinks, it was all good. Came here wanting to support a family owned business. I'm figured the total would be about $15. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with bacon. I asked the girl if it came with cream cheese she said yes. So I ordered the garlic chive. Then I proceed to order the crème brûlée latte which on the sign said seven dollars and some change. I asked for whipped cream and she proceeds to ask me do you want cold foam or whipped cream? Normally coffee joints will give you whipped cream for free and charge a dollar for cold foam, so I said whipped cream is fine. I pull up to the window wait almost 5 minutes for anyone to greet me and then hit with almost $22 for a mini coffee and a basic breakfast sandwich. First thing I'll say is for the prices. People are paying for these coffees. They should be bigger than the size of my palm. The second thing I will say is always inform your guests of charges. Especially when it doesn't state it the menu. Third thing is creature guest as soon as they pull to the window even if there's a waiting time just so they feel acknowledged. This is a one and done type stop. I've had it with this place since new ownership took it over. They increased their prices at least twice, they eliminated the old perks like double points on certain days, the app now charges a service fee for using it, they secretly shrunk the size of their large size cups from 24 ounces down to 20 and the pastries aren't as fresh as they used to be. The new owner is playing a corporate numbers game on this once wonderful community coffee shop and must think the customers are suckers. So sad to see this place get ruined! read more

Another great stop at Anthem Coffee. It's been forever since my last visit to this location. It was quite busy when we came, but I was pleased that the line went quickly. Our cashiers was all smiles when we got to the counter and so friendly. I loved that. We decided on a cold brew and a chai. We also ordered an açaí bowl and avocado toast. We snagged the last two chairs and waited. It walking before we had all of our items. Everything was delicious. Attending anthem coffee since it first opened and took over ebb and flow. I love their coffee, tea, smoothie bowls, pastries everything is absolutely phenomenal. I've been hunting all over the west valley for the best dirty chai. This is BY FAR the best hot dirty chai I've had so far! The foam on the top of the chai was beautifully crafted micro foam and I got the mixed combination of sweet and spicy! Perfectly sweet with a hint of spice at the end. I will definitely be back for more. Slightly disappointed that you're paying almost 10$ for a turkey pesto sandwich that's smaller than the size of my palm. There's hardly any turkey or cheese on it. You might as well buy the entire sourdough loaf in the front for 10$ and make it at home. The açaí bowl we tried is the best I've EVER tried! So flavorful. Stopped by via drive thru for a little pick me up after doing the Victory Steps and definitely glad I did! I got a small creme brûlée latte which was perfect temp and flavorful. The sweetness was controlled and didn't punch your teeth out lol I also got the bacon and egg avocado toast and boy was it tasty!! I would have never thought of doing a cold avocado toast but the thinly cut deviled egg slices and crispy cheese pieces really made it 100%. I am sad I couldn't finish it all because of how good it was :) The cashier did take a while at the window (it was slow) but wasn't a big deal as I wasn't in a hurry and he was friendly! read more

I would like to clarify my earlier 5 star review 5 years ago was for Ebb & Flow, not Athem Coffee. This place is really not good and such a disappointment compared to the Ebb & Flow. Showing some dishonesty I'm sure with any positive old reviews. The only saving grace is it's in a good location so anytime I have a friend visiting we grab breakfast burritos across the street and completely forego any food at Anthem. Now with the marketplace having coffee options I'd skip this altogether. read more

We took an early morning trip to Verrado and worked up a sweat at the 340 steps in the middle of Saguaro country. On our way back, we wandered into town looking for a coffee place to grab a quick bite. We saw a good amount of commotion in this area and that was our first sign that we had stumbled on what we were searching for. This place has many breakfast goodies, and I settled for an Acai Bowl. This was a good choice since I had just come back from a good work out and wanted to eat something that would not result in feeling guilty for the hard work going up those never-ending steps. The bowl was fresh, and the toasted coconut added a good touch. I ordered 2 shots of espresso w/ raw sugar and a splash of half & half, on ice to wash this down. They do have many espresso options as well. I highly recommend visiting Verrado, early in the morning before it gets too hot, if you are near the Phoenix area. Add Anthem Coffee as your stop as a reward for your hard work and avoid the generic corporate coffee shops that litter this area. read more

Anthem coffee is VERY underwhelming. Service I give a 0, they didn't seem like they were working as a team but more as individuals trying to get through their work day. The price is definitely cheaper than other coffee shops but unfortunately I'd rather keep going to Starbucks instead of supporting this small business. The ambiance in general just seemed catered to a specific type of person. Used to be Ebb and flow which was a better spot overall, hands down. New owner should really reevaluate what it takes to run a coffee shop in such a great area, there's definitely a big opportunity being missed here. read more

There are new owners Anthem from Puyallup. WA. It has been a slow transition. The coffee seems a little better even though my Dopio (double) shot was only a single. Last week it was a double shot. I keep trying to give them a chance to get their groove down. I understand there is a lack of staffing issue. I assume why you cut store hours. Not sure why the music inside is now louder than before. This is not Seattle trying to keep the homeless out. Hopefully they can get it together before the two new coffee shops being built a block away from each store opens this fall. read more

I use to love this place when it was Ebb & Flow now it's under new ownership and it shows. The menu has changed to more unhealthy items and has gotten rid of the more healthier choices. Also the picture attached shows l ordered a Açaí Bowl but now it has changed to a cup making it harder to eat and more difficult to enjoy all the ingredients in one. Love all of the options available here. When we first moved to the community I needed breakfast and I hate giving Starbucks my money so it was nice to be able to grab a bagel egg sandwich. Another time we went in... my Daughter just wanted a tea, my husband wanted a muffin and a coffee and I was able to grab an Açaí bowl. I asked to hold the coconut since I'm allergic. The gal who was making it, looked for me to ask if I'm allergic to coconut and I said yes ... she said " I'm going to hold the granola as well since it has coconut" I loved that she knew that. It was around 8:30 am, they were already out of their pumpkin cold brew which was a little disappointing because I wanted to order it so I chose their other pancake latte iced instead. It was very good because they didn't make it too sweet. I gave this place 4 stars because there were so many flys inside just making the atmosphere a little less classy/sanitary. Mentioned an allergy to the staff, asked if a sandwich contained the allergy. The girl said no, shouldn't. Then served the sandwich to my daughter. To be safe we asked the manager. She said it has the allergen in the sauce. She just asked are you having a reaction? Then just did nothing. Didn't offer to make remake the food and or give a refund. We went next door to get tacos instead. This is the third time something has come up with allergens here. They don't check, nor care if there is a food allergy. My husband likes a sandwich they make and he continues to go there. He will be going on his own since they don't care to keep people safe with deadly allergies. We also messaged the corporate email and never received a response when food was made with allergens in the drive though. Service is not great, food is not great. Coffee is okay when they make it as ordered. Was much better with the previous owner but still not so great. May still be part same ownership. read more

This is a cute little coffee shop located in the center of town in Verrado. I had an egg and cheese on an everything bagel and a maple pancake iced latte. Both were delicious! The bagel was soft and perfect and the latte reminded me of fall even though it is the middle of summer. This is not a bad thing! read more

Objective observation: this local coffee shop serves CULT coffee. They have a variety of hot coffee and cold brews. They have monthly (or so) special drinks. They now have an energy drink / base. They have a few pastries in the case, bagels and sandwiches. They didn't used to, but now serve one or 2 lunch sandwich options. Now for my subjective, slightly emotional review: I used to frequent here. I haven't come as much in recent months, then started coming again on weekends. Since I've started coming again, I noticed a big change in quality and service. They changed ownership. Since the ownership has changed from the 2 amazing ladies that built this business, there has been a steady decline in the quality and the service. Training appears to be lacking, as does the prior friendliness and service. The menu is disappearing right before our eyes! Only 2 smoothie bowls left and 2 smoothie options. It looks like they're trying to eliminate them. The options for breakfast sandwiches are scant now. You used to have a great option of 3 breads, 3 meats and 3 cheeses. Only 2 breads now; one of which was out. They are frequently out of their house cold brew, clearly not preparing enough. The comfy, cozy, hometown vibe is gone! sSeating has changed from a cute and comfy couch to more tables and uncomfortable chairs. They even removed the cushion from the bench seat! Why? The decor on the walls is removed and now is just merch to wear their name. I am so saddened by these changes. Bummed and probably won't come here much. read more
