I was supposed to meet someone here who never showed. They allowed me to wait without making me feel bad for not ordering right away. They offered me water while I waited. I waited almost 20 minutes before ordering as the person I was meeting did not show by then. I sat and enjoyed my gelato and left satisfied. I'll definitely be back! This place is awesome and located in the perfect spot! My wife wanted to go for a drive from PHX so we headed this way to go look at that big statue no one talks about. As soon as we got there I googled "ice cream near me" and this location popped up! The lady working was extremely nice and helped me decide what to get, letting me "over sample" all the samples. They had a variety of flavors and sorbets. I liked the vibe and the couch, I just wish it was busier. Overall, a fun little mini trip outside the city, and a reminder that these ice cream shops can be well priced! We're not use to these below average prices (compared to PHX)! read more

On the way home from Scottsdale and we didn't want to leave without some gelato to cook us down and we found the perfect spot! Such a charming, beautiful shop, the owner was so nice and welcoming and gave us samples to try! I love that they have a mini size, it was perfect for me! The one scoop size was very generous! I had the pistachio and it was heavenly, I love that there was no food coloring or anything artificial and with real chunks of pistachio! It really tasted homemade and not too sweet! The blood orange and the mango were so refreshing! The shop has a super comfy couch area perfect for the kids who enjoyed playing jenga while having their gelato! I wanted to stop in here so many times, but I unfortunately haven't been able to make it over sooner but this week we were eating lunch nearby and decided to stop in afterwards for a treat. My mind was originally said on the gelato, of course, but I got sidetracked when I saw they had drinks and such so after talking. To the person working, I ended up with a Matcha that had strawberry sorbet, that sounded interesting and I was told that it was a favor at the time so I went for it, service was awesome. The place was really cute. I had my drink in minutes. They looked pretty tasty. It was good, but I have laid off for the most part recently, and it was a little too sweet for me to finish. The Matcha had good flavor.. next time I go back I think I'll just try a plain Matcha what is a separate gelato my eyes just got too big I should've went for a smaller portion lol but I'll definitely be back. As Tecora has stated, who would have thought downtown Buckeye would have such wonderful shops such as The Gelato Tavern?! The Gelato variety is amazing, and I had a mixed-berry. Sinful, with berry pieces in it. I kidded with Joe, the owner (see the photos) that his store looks like an escapee from Scottsdale, without Scottsdale prices. He laughed. There are so many other fun things you can buy there. Joe's so incredibly friendly, and he gave me a sample to try. There's more seating, lots of it, than the pictures imply. It's all beautifully decorated, so you'll enjoy the experience for more than just the gelato. Wherever you dine in the Buckeye area, leave room and stop over at The Gelato Tavern for a fun and incredibly tasty experience! Last time I was here with hubby. He passed away a month ago, so visiting the places we lived. This time, I got a pistachio mocha latte iced. So yummy. Service, as always, is amazing and the seating is cozy and gives you a place to sit, relax, and read a book. They even have a section where you can select a book to read on a blind date. Let's start with it's about time!! Great Gelato. Cute little tavern. Great people here! We have tried all their flavors now in our visits. Even the ones I would normally not get I actually liked! Places like this is what Buckeye needs! Keeps up with the old Historic feeling of Buckeye but with great modern taste! And hours of operation.
