And for me, part of the experience is slowing down to enjoy the moment. No small part of that enjoyment comes from drinking my coffee in a proper vessel. It could be a ceramic coffee cup, or a bowl, or a heavy glass, or a demitasse cup on a saucer. Different shops can have their own style, but if you refuse to serve a well crafted drink in something other than paper, that's an issue for me. Especially when the proper cups are right there! I see them. And I get that washing dishes can be a pain in the neck, but coffee shops can charge what they charge for beans and water because they are providing an experience. Sorry. Thanks for hearing me out. Beyond that, this place is lovely. The people are friendly, which should not be a surprise in Minnesota. The cortado was good, but hard to fully appreciate or evaluate in its sad little paper cup. My family was happy with their drinks. And the outdoor space is simply magical. Since this is fast food, the chicken isn't fried to order; instead, it's fried in batches, so the food is just assembled and handed out. Our order took only about 2 or 3 minutes to come out. Classic ($8) - As the name implies, this is a pretty classic fried chicken sandwich. First there's a sizable boneless thigh, battered and fried. It's a lighter crisp, more delicate than the typical breading and closer to tempura than traditional fried chicken. The dark meat still has a decent moisture level and the exterior fry tastes like the beef tallow it's fried in. There's crisp ripped iceberg lettuce leaves, some pickles, and a bunch of mayo on a slightly buttery and toasted bun. The bun still remains mostly soft to encapsulate the chicken and prevent anything from falling out. While the chicken itself isn't the most juicy, there's enough fattiness from the mayo to help things out.
