Visited Wisconsin Meat & Cheese for the first time and loved it! The store is adorable and packed with cheeses, meats, snacks, wines, and great gift ideas--they even make custom gift baskets. We ordered a charcuterie plate (4 cheeses, 2 meats) and it was a generous portion for all four of us. The sandwiches other customers had looked amazing, so I'll definitely be trying one next time. Friendly, helpful staff made the visit even better. Highly recommend!

Amazing find! First visit and we'll be back, often! Prices are very reasonable. Generous portions, we were stuffed! They even included a little bite of dessert, unexpected and so yummy. Their macaroni salad is the best ever! Not your usual bland, mayo laden mess. So many yummy things to buy to take home, again, great prices for high quality. Glorious cheese galore, better value than grocery store cheese options. Our favorite part, the service! The gentleman working the front of the house was Cody (hope I'm spelling that correctly) Man I hope they take good care of him because he's an absolute gem! Beyond kind and attentive. Kind of waiting on everyone and making them feel welcome, though it's not a server type of spot. If I had any kind of business here, I'd be trying to steal him! Very much appreciated this experience and can't wait to visit again!

Really cool local spot! Wine was affordable, food was delicious. Would definitely recommend anybody check this place out (especially if you are from Wisconsin). The sandwiches were outstanding and everything tasted so fresh. The charcuterie board was tasty and the honey was really good! Also, Cody was amazing and even gave a free little taste of Kringle with our sandwiches which was so tasty! We will be back!

We love this little local gem. Great staff, tasty sandwiches, and all the fun meats/cheeses/wine to shop.

I came here with my 4 buddies and let me tell you about through quotes from my good buddy "Cl^{£". (For security reasons his name is private). "That grilled cheese went f*~€^$g crazy" (Talking about the cheese curds) "heaven" "Ill probably tell my grandkids about this"

I wanted to send a gift basket to some family friends in the Kiawah Islands. I'm not from the area (in California), so, I didn't have a sense of who could put this together for me. I'm so grateful I found the Wisconsin Meat & Cheese market. I so appreciated the time, care, and expertise Casey and Cody put into making up a basket for me, and delivering it for me, too! They made it really easy. My family friends loved it and have so enjoyed the goodies. Can't thank them enough. I hope to work with them again, or better yet, visit the store in person!

Service was great, very friendly staff! They have a couple of areas to sit and have a sandwich or charcuterie board. Nice place for a date, with friends, or alone. I had the Charcuterie Sammie and added turkey. So good! It's everything you love from a charcuterie board on a sandwich. The baguette is very good, unsure if they make it in-house. They have a pretty big selection of cheeses, specialty meats, wines, honey, and fruit butters. The Slide potato chips were good and thick-- tasted as though I had bitten into a crunchy, kettle-cooked potato haha. Caramel corn was very good as well. Will definitely return!

This is such a great addition to James Island! They have a wonderful assortment of cheese, brats, summer sausage and everything you would need for a charcuterie board! I have spent a fair amount of time in the midwest and I love having a selection of some of the best brats, cheese and summer sausage close to home. They have also added sandwiches to their menu which are delicious! My favorite is the blueberry turkey and I love that it comes with a Kringle dessert! Stopping by here is always a fun experience because of friendly staff, great selection of food and a nice ambiance. I've also found it to be very affordable. They have started to do more events such as wine tastings too so I'd definitely recommend checking that out.

This place is low key and awesome. Great quality ingredients, simple and reasonably priced menu, and samples. Speedy service. What's not to love? They also have a rewards program. The Kringle looks lame but it's actually really good! Cheese curds are perfect and served with a yummy herbed sauce.

This is a cute little sandwich shop. They use and sell cheese from Wisconsin. The place is small so I would not recommend it for a large group of people, but I would recommend it for two people to grab a quick casual lunch. my son and I both had charcuterie sammies. They were fresh and delicious! The menu is à la cart and I do think $2.50 for a small bag of chips and extra money for a drink was kind of expensive but I understand it with today's economy. I will definitely be back to try more stuff on the menu.

We were THRILLED when we read about Wisconsin Meat & Cheese; we made our way over to see what all the hype was about...and we're glad we did. As cheesy as it sounds, we felt at home. Background: We're both from Michigan, have MANY WI friends, travel through WI a few times a year, and have been to the Cheese Castle eleventy times. Yes, WM&C is a mini Cheese Castle, set up with *sharp, clear, intuitive stations and familiar foods and products. It's a small store with a big selection. We quickly filled our basket with bison beef sticks (dynamite), a cheese parade, and crackers. Our faves were definitely the beef sticks and the bacon cheddar. WOW-whee. Coming in at a close second was the tomato and basil mozzarella. Going forward, we'd love to see WM&C make their own beef sticks, carry a bigger curd selection, add some paired wines, and (like up north) make you a grilled cheese while you shop. And hey, maybe some background music, maybe some...R&Brie. We wish WM&C gouda luck with their new shop! And yes, duh, we'll be back.

First time here, the staff were welcoming and friendly. We ordered the charcuterie sammie along with a nice cold beer from Westbrook Brewery and it was delicious! They also had samples of meat and cheese.

Another great experience with Wisconsin cheese! The charcuterie Sammie was absolutely delicious and delivered by Ubereats! The bread is so soft and there is the perfect amount of salami, prosciutto and brie. I can't wait to try more!

I stopped by Burbage Meats this weekend to get a steak for myself and see how it was before committing to buying a fair number of steaks. I got a ribeye for myself, and saw some fresh hot dogs and sausages as well as some local items like peach soda from Georgia and BBQ sauce. The hot dogs I got are fantastic and they are actually cheaper per pound than high quality ones from Publix. As a native New Yorker I could eat hot dogs every day for lunch, which is exactly what I have been doing, and they are great. I cooked up the ribeye last night, the way I usually do (sit on the counter top with salt for 30 minutes, 2 minute sear per side in a cast iron pan with a knob of butter and finished in the broiler) and it came out with a perfect crust and was so tender it came apart significantly with just my fork. Flavor was amazing too, much beefier than ribeye usually tastes. I also got a pre-made beef stroganoff which I ate for dinner, and while it wasn't my favorite stroganoff, it was really good and hit the spot. I will definitely be having Burbage do the meats for myself event in a few weeks! J.Ja

Galpão Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse - Food Review 4.6 / 5…read moreStars If you're looking for an authentic Brazilian steakhouse experience in Charleston, Galpão Gaucho delivers a premium, meat-forward dining experience that leans heavily into quality, variety, and attentive service. The Experience From the moment you sit down, the pace is noticeable--in a good way. Service is fast and efficient, with gauchos consistently rotating through the dining room offering a wide selection of fire-roasted meats. The rhythm of service keeps your plate full without feeling rushed, which is exactly what you want in a traditional Brazilian steakhouse setting. Food Quality & Selection The highlight here is undeniably the extensive variety of meats. From classic cuts like picanha to a range of seasoned beef, chicken, and pork options, there's no shortage of choices. Each cut is carved tableside and served fresh off the skewer, giving you that authentic churrascaria feel. The salad and vegetable bar is impressively large, offering everything from fresh greens and roasted vegetables to cheeses and cold cuts. It's not just filler--it's actually well-stocked and thoughtfully prepared, making it easy to balance out the heavier meat options (if you have the discipline). What Stands Out Fast, continuous service - you're never waiting long for the next cut Wide variety of meats - something for every preference Large, well-rounded salad bar - more than just an afterthought Attentive staff - consistent with what you'd expect from a high-end Brazilian steakhouse Where It Falls Short Salt level can be a bit heavy on some meats, which may not suit everyone Price point (~$85 per person) puts it firmly in the premium dining category Parking is limited, though nearby parking decks make it manageable with a short walk Final Verdict Galpão Gaucho is a solid choice for a high-end dining experience in Charleston, especially if you're going in hungry and want to indulge. While the seasoning can occasionally lean too salty and the price isn't light, the overall experience--driven by quality meats, variety, and strong service--makes it worth it for a special occasion or a serious night out. Best for: Date nights, celebrations, business dinners, or anyone wanting a true Brazilian steakhouse experience without compromise.
