This place is literally down the street from my house, so I'm here frequently. The place never disappoints! There is such a nice vibe about this place and the food is on point. You can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches, pizza, etc... I highly recommend the goat cheese marinara and Bugsy's BBQ chicken sandwich. My kids go crazy for their gelato and black and white cookies. We've been coming here for years and I have so many great memories of dining inside with the long benches with checkered table cloths. Our first time here and it did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly. The food was amazing! Kids menu was great, kids got a personal pizza, drink and ice cream and they loved it. My husband and I tried the wise guys pizza rolls, Chicago Italian Beef Sandwich, and the calzone. The calzone was the best calzone I ever had! The dough was cooked perfectly and perfectly crunchy and tasted amazing. I liked the ricotta cheese in the calzone and the Italian sausage was delicious. My husband loved the beef sandwich. I'm always honest with my reviews. I love this place for certain things and the things, IN MY OPINION IT MY TASTES, what didn't work made no sense. Get this straight from Jump St. Goat Cheese Marinara. YEP, twice, bathe me in it, commit a death penalty crime just so I can have it as a last meal. It's that creamy, punchy and yum. Their pizzas are all top notch. Pro Tip (OK not a pro just a chubby guy that knows good food esp pizza, cased meats and BBQ) go thin crust so the flavors of the sauce, toppings and cheese come through. The Pappa's Pepperoni Bread yep yep and so far the grinders have been a slam. What did not make sense to me last night was the lasagna. LOVE their sauce, love their sausage & motz. Is it a different sauce? Is nothing added to the ricotta? I know the noodles were a bit too thick and that overwhelmed the dish. The spaghetti marinara was also pedestrian and again it was the noodles that were just THERE. Added meatballs and sausage but unfortunately the QC on the sausage wasn't done as it was way overcooked. The skin was actually shriveled. Still flavors are there. Execution was a little off but guess what, there are a bunch or people working their asses off. Like my college line coach always said, "if you're gonna block the wrong guy, knock him off the screen". All was ok UNTIL- one of the many employees wondering around behind the cash register went on their break at the front patio table right behind ours that cussed so bad (massive F bombs) it was nauseating and so loud. I was in the mood for a traditional pizza with a medium/thick crust, versus the quick fired pizza places I've gone to as of recently. This place was close and came up with positive reviews. I placed an order via a food delivery service for one custom pizza with pepperoni, sun-dried tomatoes, and spicy marinara sauce and one order of garlic knots. Food arrived hot and very quickly. They don't skimp on toppings - plenty of pepperoni and sun-dried tomatoes on every slice. The latter were not charred or burned - I've had that issue with many of the fast service pizzas. The garlic knots are delicious and come with marinara sauce for dipping. The pizza is very hearty - two slices was plenty for me per meal. This has become a family favorite. We usually go for the pizza but sometimes the kids order the spaghetti. Salads are well served and they actually offer Kalamata olives and sun dried tomatoes. To me that is a plus!. Friday/weekend nights it gets packed fast and it is advised to either reserve your table or arrive early. The bar is very small and come to think of it over all it is a very small restaurant. Only one night last summer I was greatly not happy because the AC broke and to top it off with the oven going on none stop. I was miserable. So I grabbed ice-cream! That's right they offer ice cream too! I was so happy that my bestie from Chicago tore up the pizza. she was going on how much it was the closest to a Chicago pizza. Perhaps it is the sauce and then sometimes I think it is the sausage or the dough? Or all the above! I can not figure it out. I've put off reviewing this place long enough. It's busy enough as is and I'd prefer to keep it to myself and the locals that live nearby - it's just too good to share with everyone and, like I said, it's already super busy - especially on Friday nights and Saturday nights. You'll never get bored if you gotta have something other than pepperoni or cheese which personally I could live on. I do really like the spicy untouchable pizza though. One of the best gluten free (GF) pizzas nearby - try Zito's GF too it's fantastic. Antipasto salad with the house Italian - dressings made fresh there - is awesome. The knots and pizza rolls are fun with large parties and they always have a great select of craft beers. Also lots of TVs for those of us that don't have cable or satellite and wanna watch a game. Tried this restaurant after hearing from HenryDiCarlo/KTLA5 news (a home grown City of Orange local) that WG's made the best Candied Walnut Salad! Ordered To-go. The Salad was good EXCEPT the the young person that made it filled the salad container upside down I.e. vented side of container (unbeknownst to me at the time), so when I poured the dressing in, walked from my kitchen to dining room, the dressing dripped everywhere from floor tile...carpet...light colored jeans. Please, restaurant manager remind youngsters making the salads in kitchen to fill salad into the solid part of the container (not the vented part). Also ordered a pasta dish and starter which were ok. Will be back to try other menu items. Restaurant was busy on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Kitchen staff was bustling which is a good sign. First of all, the lunch special is the best deal around. 10$ for half a sandwich, soup-green salad-pesto pasta salad- and a drink. All are so fresh and truly homemade. More so than almost anything you get anywhere else. All the sauces, most of the dressings, the meatballs, all the chicken, all the shrimp, the lasagna, wings and more..it's all in house recipes that are prepared fresh. Terrible! Placed an order for delivery of a Caprese salad, meatball sandwich, and vegetarian lasagna along with two soups. First off, one of the soups did not get delivered. Not a problem, call them, and they rectified the situation. Secondly, the balsamic glaze they put on the Caprese salad with spoiled. It had an awful taste to it. Had to throw that away. I gave it four stars because I had ordered two personal sized pizzas that came out to 24$ and was dissatisfied with the size of the pizza for the amount that I paid.
