I've worked with Wise Home Energy for years, and they are excellent. I'm the kind of person who usually does things myself. When the job is too difficult, I call Ryan at Wise. Over the years, I've welcomed them in to my home to: - Install a new hot water heater. - Install an Aprilaire furnace humidifie - Airseal my home - Reinsulate my whole attic - Repair a leaking gas line - Fixed a rusting line connected to the hot water heater they installed over 5 years after the install... for free. These guys do a great job every time, always honor their quotes, arrive on time, and complete the work on schedule. They're also very polite, and while doing the job they just completed for me, arrived in masks and followed COVID protocols. After 20 years, we've decided to sell our house and downsize. One thing requested by the new buyer, was that we have the furnace cleaned and serviced. We looked at several companies that provide these services and decided to try Wise Home Energy. The team of Mike and Tom arrived on time and ready for work. The van they work out of was fully equipped for just about any issue that might arise. They went right to work on our furnace and let me stand by and watch. These gents really know their business. They made a complete inspection and gave our furnace a thorough cleaning. Connections and contacts were checked for operation, as was the blower and heat exchanger. After checking the thermostat for operation, they also made sure there were no gas leaks. I admit that I wasn't as conscientious as I might have been, by having the furnace serviced yearly. However, with the price as reasonable as Wise charges, I would definitely have it serviced yearly. Stop for a moment and consider how much you count on your furnace. Mike and Tom were both friendly and outgoing. I appreciated the fact that they let me "look over their shoulders". They explained things as they went along and were very thorough in their inspection and cleaning. I am very pleased with the service that Wise Home Energy provided. I had some insulation work done from Wise home energy over 1 year ago. This past winter I noticed one little hot spot on my roof line causing an icicle. I called their office and texted a picture. They came to repair no questions asked. The crew that came, Jamie and his helper were courteous and helpful. They explained what they found, their plan of action. They performed their tasks in a timely manner and cleaned up after themselves really well. I would recommend wise home energy to any of my friends in need of insulation. read more

This is a review of having the exterior walls on my house dense packed with cellulose. I happened upon Wise home energy by google searching for contractors that provided this insulation service. After reading reviews I had them come out for an estimate. Kirk, from wise was able to come out when it worked best for me and my work schedule and I was given an estimate that was better than 3 other competitors in the Rochester market. Some may say cheapest isn't always best, but with this type of job, what could really go wrong? I chose to go with Wise, they were able to fit me in before it really started getting cold! The crew that came to do the work was very professional, and any issues that arose were brought to my attention and they were fixed to my satisfaction. I had this work done when it was around 20 degrees outside and there was only minor damage to some of the siding, I knew this going into it, when Kirk gave me the estimate he had warned about siding in colder weather and it was my choice to go forward with it. I actually had some scrap pieces of siding from when the house was done. The crew made it look like nothing happened and I am very happy with their work. While the workers were working on my house it was brought to my attention that a chimney for my water heater was disconnected in a chase that ran to the attic, this was an as found condition. We have been living with this unknown issue since the roof was put on prior to us moving in. There was a potential for a hazardous condition and it was caught and corrected. They did some insulation in my home. When they left my one year old daughter found a screw they left behind. The patchwork on the hole they cut in the ceiling is sloppy. There were cigarette butts all over my driveway. They also unplugged my sub pump and forgot to plug it back in and I woke up Saturday to a flooded basement. read more

Unfortunately they don't have negative stars. This company caused over $18,000 damage to my siding blowing in insulation on half my home. He contracts through the NYSERDA program, not on his own recognizence and left a horrible mess, destroyed my siding, left an electrical violation, hammered in my siding with cut off roofing nails on the bottom, not the top nailing strip and refuses to own up to the damage. He did send a letter that the state informed him he caused major siding damage and needed to replace it. He refuses to cooperate or pay a contractor to repair it properly as no one in his company has the proper skills or experience to even do what he's doing obviously. His response to many negative reviews is to hope to embarrass the consumer who had funding through NY state instead of addressing his poor workmanship skills for a job that he was paid to do. Our energy audit was done and an appointment was made for Wise Home Energy to do the work. These workman came into my house and made a mess. They left footprints on my kitchen counters from walking on them, they used my kitchen chairs to stand on instead of their step ladders. In an attempt to seal the drop down stairs into my attic, they took the stairs apart and now they don't line up when you open them. The workman admitted that he didn't know how to do drywall as he was attempting to replace the ceiling they removed from our den. This company is a hack. If you can't finish the work you have torn apart then you shouldn't be doing the job! read more
