Shane and his crew were punctual, immediately set to work on removing the old, large heating system and outdoor unit, and worked tirelessly all day! We were constantly informed of each step - where the routing of tubing within the garage would be placed with attachment to the outside unit, and where its' location had to be, etc.. I called five days in advance to schedule a technician to come to my home and provide an estimate for either repairing or replacing my air-conditioning unit. On the day of the appointment, I was given a service window between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM. After 11:00 AM had already passed, I received a text saying the technician was running late and would probably arrive around 1:00 PM. Then, at approximately 12:45 PM, I received a call from the company. The representative told me they were running behind and that the technician might arrive sometime after 1:00 PM, but there was still no guarantee. At that point, I was extremely disappointed. I had already waited five days for the appointment, then spent the entire morning waiting during the original four-hour window, followed by another two hours of delays, and they still could not give me a definite arrival time. I explained to the representative that the company should have contacted me around 9:00 or 10:00 AM if they already knew they were running significantly behind. At least then I could have made the decision to reschedule and not lose half of my day. Asking me to reschedule after I had already spent almost five hours waiting was not a reasonable solution. I told her that if the technician could not arrive by 1:00 PM, I would cancel the appointment and find another company--one that respected my time as a customer as much as they expect customers to respect theirs. Her response shocked me. She simply said, "That's fine, sir. You can cancel," and then hung up on me. About 20 minutes later, I received another call from someone else at the company, supposedly to apologize and see whether anything could be done. By then it was already after 1:00 PM, close to 1:30 PM, and I had already contacted another company. Unfortunately, the second conversation made the situation even worse. Instead of simply listening to my experience and apologizing, the representative told me she was going to listen to the recorded conversation because there "must have been something" said during the call. To me, that immediately felt as though my account of what happened was being questioned instead of taken seriously. I told her that if she did not trust what I was telling her, she should listen to the recorded call first and then contact me. Calling a disappointed customer supposedly to apologize while simultaneously questioning his version of events completely defeats the purpose of the call. The original scheduling delay was frustrating, but delays can happen in any service business. What ultimately caused Triton Air & Plumbing to lose my business was how the situation was handled afterward. Customer service is not only about showing up when everything goes according to plan. It is about communication, accountability, professionalism, and how you treat customers when something goes wrong. If you value your time and expect clear communication and professional customer service from the companies you hire, my experience with Triton Air & Plumbing would make me strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
