A couple years ago, Vladmir from Sigma Appliances repaired a 2-year-old KitchenAid Stove that already needed a circuit board replaced. Have had no problems since. Did a great job at a fair price at the time. As luck would have it, the ice and water dispenser went out on my five-year-old LG Refrigerator. Didn't even hesitate to call Sigma Appliances for an estimate based on my previous experience. There is a service call fee but that is applied to the final job if you agree to the estimate which in my opinion has been fair on both occasions. Vladmir was very responsive, courteous and punctual and diagnosed the issue and gave me an estimate. Waited a few days for parts to arrive and then Vladmir repaired it quickly and professionally. Business owner Vladimir came out and quickly diagnosed the problem on my cooktop ventilation hood as a broken control panel. He returned less than a week later with the $99 part and replaced it in 15 minutes. The labor only charge was $200. That is a big service fee for such a short time and I live near other service calls. So I will use Sigma when my regular repair companies don't handle a particular situation. read more

I have an LG dishwasher that had a commonly known leak from the drying vent located inside the door. I contacted LG and they referred me to Sigma, one of their licensed technicians. Sigma was quick to take my call and set up an appointment. They wouldn't provide any info over the phone and required to see the issue in person. Rusty showed up from Sigma, spent about 20 minutes inside the dishwasher, taking the filter out, and some other internal parts and told me to replace this 6 year old dishwasher with a new one because fixing it would cost close to $900. Yup, I nearly wet my pants when he told me this over the phone. Then he continued with "you will have to pay the $85 service charge and I will put all this info in the invoice." To be clear, I hadn't said a word at this point and was only listening, waiting for him to finish telling me everything he had troubleshoot. So to demand payment in that way was a bit odd. Here is what he put in the invoice: Description of failure: Dishwasher is not working properly, leaking on cycles, isn't drain fully. Sump and drain system clogged by solid debris. Repair description: Sump assembly with motor, filtration parts, drain pump, water level sensor, drain hose need to be replaced. At this point, I asked, "If I get a new dishwasher, will you be able to hook it up so I can at least use the $85 towards that service?" Rusty stated "We don't do installs." Ok, so if I was to be crazy and follow his $900 estimate which includes replacing the drain hose, what would he do? Would he leave it half connected so I can have a nice flood in my kitchen? After all it was said and done, I immediately paid and went to look at the dishwasher again a week later as I didn't fully believe everything Rusty said. Nothing he mentioned had to do with a leaking drying vent and he hadn't even turned on the dishwasher and let it run through a speed cycle to actually witness the problem. I also knew for a fact there wasn't a draining issue and that the pump didn't need to be replaced because the dishwasher was practically new. I called a second technician (non LG certified) and he basically confirmed everything Rusty stated was false and a scare tactic. This technician actually ran a cycle, witnessed the issue, and knew the exact problem and fixed it within 15 minutes. Only charged me $50. I wanted to wait a couple months to make sure this other tech actually fixed the issue and that it wasn't a temporary fix. Sure enough, 2 months later it's leak free still. Based on other reviews of Sigma, it seems the easiest path to making a quick $85 every 20 minutes is to just tell people to replace their appliances. Rusty, next time you don't actually know what the issue is, just tell the customer you don't know and don't charge them. It's much more appreciated than the scare tactic and an immediate $85 charge for the incorrect information. Even I can go to people's houses and tell them to replace their appliances and "Oh that'll be $85 for this amazingly incorrect expert advice I just gave you." read more

There have been but a few times in my life when a person who makes his living repairing things has told me that I'd be better off replacing that thing than fixing it. Vladimir has now joined that elite group. That kind of integrity is, sadly, pretty rare. Besides that, it's worth mentioning that Vladimir got back to me immediately after my initial inquiry--even though Sigma was closed that day. He followed up diligently, and was entirely frank and very helpful. Sigma will be my first call next time I need a repair to my kitchen or HVAC. read more

We then later get a phone call from the warranty company attributing this fault to potential abuse, and essentially denying our claim. This is particularly surprising given that we called them as soon as we heard sounds coming from our machine. We are left without coverage, which is so convenient for the Home Warranty company and probably resulted in financial incentive for this company. Based on this experience, would not recommend Sigma to anyone. Especially in such pandemic situations; its a pain to fix appliances and more with such companies like Sigma appliances. A deal is a deal and I agreed to pay for the service fee and I did. However, there is more to the story ... The technician was at my house for no more than 12 minutes (some of which was for the payment process) and told me what was wrong with my refrigerator. He was polite, clean, etc. He looked at the product and basically told me to call LG and get the product repaired by them in warranty. While a deal is a deal, I paid the diagnosis of $85, but frankly, the entire transaction felt a little bit sleazy. A 5-10 minute conversation for $85? Luckily, they accepted a certificate that brought the price down but it just felt downright dirty like I wasn't getting even close to the value I paid. When I asked if this was the easiest $85 he made for a "repair", he said "no." I knew this wasn't the only time. What I would suggest for homeowners who have future requests is they do their homework first ... research the issue on YouTube and the manufacturer website, talk with the manufacturer and/or other local repair outfits and then, as a near last resort, contact Sigma if there is no other option. While they seemed like they could have repaired if there was the option to do so, I did contact them before doing any legwork which was the wrong way to go. read more

I called Sigma Appliances because our LG front load washer was leaking water from the bottom of the machine. I was relieved to learn that they could send a tech out later that same day. Our technician's name was Vlad. He arrived in a timely manner and wore a mask throughout his visit. While there is a $75 service fee to come out, the fee is waived if you approve the repair work. Turns out, our washing machine's door boot was torn and needed to be replaced. They emailed a quote to my husband, and he verified that the price of the part was fairly comparable to what we would have paid for the part if we ordered it directly. As the labor cost was also reasonable, we approved the quote and were told they would have the part and be back to complete the repair three days later. Sure enough, the technician texted us to confirm the time he'd be by. He arrived within 10 minutes and finished the work in 30-40 minutes. I paid by credit card and received payment confirmation via email. The washer is working great now. For added reassurance, the work order they send includes a 90-day written warranty for parts and labor. read more

We recently purchased a home and have a home warranty through AMERICAN Home Shield. Our washing machine broke on August 3, 2020 and we went through the process of filing a claim. Sigma Appliances was the company assigned to our claim. It took them a week to come out. So on August 10th they show up, tell us they need to order a part and that they have to wait for American Home Shield to approve it. I asked how long it would take since it had already took a week for them to come out. They assured me it would take 2 business days to approve, 2 days for the part, so Friday at the earliest. They even said it would've been quicker if it weren't through American Home Shield. Shady, right? By Thursday, August 14th we hadn't heard from them, so we checked with American Home Shield and they said they approved it "days ago". Interestingly, we called Friday, August 15th and they said they hadn't heard back from American Home Shield and that they'd have to look into it. THIS is where alllllll of the lieing started between BOTH companies. Sigma Appliances didn't even bother to order the part for TWO MORE DAYS even though we confirmed with them that same day that it was approved and we were told it had been ordered that same day. Sigma appliances NEVER called us to apologize for the delay, explain the error, nothing. They finally came to fix it on August 20th. The guy who came couldn't even look me in the eye or bother to say sorry about the delay. BUT GUESS WHAT - They didn't even bother fixing it properly. August 28th AND MY WASHER IS BROKEN AGAIN. After the hectic holidays, we were running our Samsung washing machine (which was only 1.5 years old) - sure enough, it was the best time to find out the machine was leaking like crazy out the front. After a quick check, I noticed the "boot" of the front-load door that is supposed to form a water-tight seal had "warped" - and water was leaking out of the door. I honestly don't know how it happened, but it did. I tried to call Samsung, and without an extended warranty, was pretty much told to go pound sand - they gave me a number to an authorized Samsung repair place in Colorado! I was quoted well over $200 just to come out and see what the issue was for a somewhat small problem and was able to get a steal of a price from Sigma for $70! He was able to come out the next day! My dryer was making an awful noise and I needed someone to look at it. After seeing the positive reviews about Sigma, I gave them a call. The next day Vladymier was out and of course, the dryer was perfectly quiet while he was here. He suggested that I record the noise when it happens and send it to him. WOW! We've found our "go to" Appliance Servicing company! Thrilled with the professionalism, quality of work, promptness and intelligence of Vladimir. We recently moved into a new home and every time we washed our clothes in our huge LG Dryer, the water was hot...really HOT. I knew something was wrong. After finding several authorized LG repair companies on their site, I looked each one up on Yelp, and SIGMA had the best reviews by far. They were not wrong! I was super-impressed when Vladimir showed-up one day after we scheduled. Very timely! Vladimir checked out our washer and found a couple issues. He said he had to go get a part and left without charging us anything. We asked what the total would be before he left and he quickly calculated $160 for the service and part. I felt that was fair. He left. Next day, he texted me, he was on his way back. Great follow-through. He came over, and within 25 or so minutes was in and out. The price was what he quoted - very reasonable for his efforts to come over to our house 2x. He is clearly VERY knowledgable about servicing washers and knows his stuff. There was a part that needed to be replaced and also our Hot and Cold lines were crossed, causing all cold water washes to be hot. My laundry washer developed a leaking door boot. I called Sigma to schedule, they were out earlier than promised. The technician, Vladimir was prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. His evaluation of the situation led to ordering parts. Within two days Vladimir had the parts, made another appointment for later that day. Once again, Vladimir's arrival was earlier than promised which making the wait around game virtually minimal.
