I came here with family for my sister's bday and for a Mother's day joint celebration. The grape vines and the property surrounding the restaurant and winery are beautiful and scenic, it looks like Napa. You wouldn't ever be able to tell you're in the boonies of Lincoln. It's very scenic and the architecture of the restaurant goes with it as well. I was very surprised with how nice this vineyard was. Our table shared the margherita Flatbread and it was good nothing too special. I started with a cup of the tomato basil soup and is probably one of the best I've had. Our waitress suggested the red sangria and it was good not too sweet or too strong. For my entree I had the ribye steak that came with mashed potatoes and carrots. That was a great steak, so tender, and yummy. The mashed potatoes were great too and so yummy and fluffy. Then for dessert I had the creme brulee which was delicious and not too sweet and tasted like great vanilla bean custard. Our service was good too and the waitress was attentive. We stopped by for lunch on New Year's Eve, and even though the place was busy, the hostess greeted us warmly. There were a couple of seats available at the bar--which happens to be our favorite spot--so we grabbed those. Brandy was our server, and she was fantastic--friendly, outgoing, and totally on point. We really enjoyed her energy and service. What really surprised me was how good the food was. At many wineries, food can feel like an afterthought, but not here. You can actually sit down and enjoy a great meal along with your wine. Speaking of wine: my wife enjoys rosé, while I'm more of a red wine person. Fortunately, Wise Villa Winery had plenty of great options for both of us. The wine was solid and enjoyable all around. Our friends have a membership here, and they invited us to join them for a tasting and lunch. It was a busy Saturday afternoon, but we had a reservation and were seated promptly. There is a large inside restaurant area and some outdoor seating. I had the salmon sandwich and the flight of reds. The fries were perfectly crispy and salted. The salmon sandwich was amazing. Did a wine tasting here while in the area. We ordered the red and mixed flights and a charcuterie board. Wines were ok, despite all the '2019 award winning statements' - nothing to write home about. California wine is always trying to replicate French styles and to me they often miss the mark, especially for the price. I can get excellent French reds for half the prices and significantly more flavorsome. We did our tasting nibbled at the charcuterie offerings and then moved on. This was our second winery to do tastings at and thankfully this was much better than the first! The ambience and views are fabulous tho! Came here on a Saturday for a birthday dinner with family. What a beautiful winery tucked away in Lincoln - absolutely worth a trip and a detour just to come and see the sunset and have a bottle of wine. Their wine selection is great (obvi) and the prices are reasonable - very much appreciated if you enjoy wine but don't have the experience to enjoy some of the more crazy varietals. Our hostess was a little bit short and dismissive, seemed flustered at managing the tables and the line of folks waiting for their reservations, but everyone else on staff was absolutely fantastic - servers, chefs, etc. were all so friendly and great, and they were clearly proud of their food. Food is fantastic and very flavorful - great portions and we all left so satisfied and happy. Salmon, chicken, and risotto were all so delicious. For the appetizers the mussels were fantastic as well the crostoni and the steak bites. So many great options here and such a lovely place to enjoy dinner - outdoor seating is beautiful but the sun may glare in your eyes a little bit! read more

Went here for a lovely Valentines Day dinner. Sadly, the restaurant was more interested in seeing how many people they could "serve", rather than making sure their guests had the kind of experience they expected. Our reservation was at 6:45. We arrived 10 minutes early, to be told that it would be 30 minutes before we would be seated. At 7:25, we were brought to our table, and the waiter came by about 5 minutes later. We ordered bread, salads, and our entrees, at that time. Fast forward 45 minutes, and a request of our waiter, as to could we get our bread and salads, we had nothing...an hour and a half after our reservation, we still had no food...As we were deciding what to do, the table next to us got their meals, and we overheard the person bringing the meal tell them that they had run out of mashed potatoes, so they gave her french fries! Nice, salmon and french fries, epic combo! That was it for us, we got up and left! Happy Valentine's Day, NOT!!! read more

I joined this this wine club thinking the Customer Service and wine services would be superb. It has done nothing but disappoint me! Last week I came for a wine tasting given it one more try and "Elizabeth" apparently one of the family members poured my tasting. She never once talked about the various wines, grapes etc and was extremely rude and unfriendly. I picked up one order of wine and tried to cancel my service today and was told by Elizabeth I needed to pay for two more deliveries because my reason for cancelling was not in the contract Or I could pay the "100" cancellation fee! Can you believe this winery? Are times so tough they cannot let clients who are dissatisfied with the customer service on two occasions, canceled their contract? I do not recommend being any part of the wine club. Everyone beware. read more

A Lovely Afternoon can be spent here enjoying the views, the food and the wine. They were the only winery I could find in the area that had a restaurant. I thought I had taken pictures of our lunch but I guess I didn't. I had the special... which was a scrumptious lamb burger and fries. Mom had the spinach salad which was very tasty. We shared the wine flight explaining to our server that we wanted to try the wines and then would order a glass of something later on to enjoy with our lunch. Sadly... our server seemed to have gotten really busy and disappeared for a while and we didn't get a chance to order our glass of wine until we were practically done with our lunch. Oh well. Next time maybe we order the wine flight... sample the wine flight and then put in our lunch order along with our glasses of wine. While their wines didn't 'wow' me. Awesome quaint little winery and bistro in the heart of Placer. The Tuscan resemblance is uncanny. 9 of us spent our lunch here; enjoying tasting flights and grubbing on some great menu items. The Salmon BLT, Chicken Sandwich, soup of the day (Beef Ministone) and flatbread were all a hit. Now, for the most important thing, the wines... The ease of delight over your palate makes these all easy to enjoy. The Doc doesn't play by your traditional rules cause he knows how to make it work with what he's got. His untraditional methods of winemaking are creating a special experience for every patron. The Barbera, Touriga, Tannat and Wisdom of Wise are all outstanding. Finish off with a decadent dessert and don't you dare pass on their port. Hillary waited on us and made for a pleasurable afternoon. We couldn't ask for anything more. I had never been back in the foothills behind Lincoln. The roads were surprisingly good. The only sign I saw for Wise Villa was right at the driveway. Up a driveway you will find nice parking, in the shade! On Saturday afternoon there were patrons, but the place was not busy. Actually, the atmosphere was perfect. Another plus, there was ambient music playing over the sound system, but it was not blasting. One of the few places that I give a big thumbs up for the quiet! We wanted to try the flights of wine, either five reds or two whites with three reds. $20, with credit toward wine purchase. I liked the white Torrontes, a crisp citrusy glass. My partner likes red wine and her favorite was the Touriga National. Unfortunately, the food was only mediocre. Soup and salad and a appetizer board. The entrees might be better. A realtor told me about Wise Villa Winery while I was looking at new homes in Lincoln recently. She told me that there was a wine trail a few miles up and I had to try out of the wines at Wise Villa. Did y'all know there was wine up here? I certainly didn't but I was pleasantly surprised. First off, the scenic drive through rural Lincoln was breathtaking. The crisp air and beautiful rolling hills put me in a great mood on the drive up. As I arrived at Wise Villa, I was greeted by a lovely farmhouse style restaurant. A truly beautiful property. I didn't have a reservation but was still seated promptly, and right next to the fireplace, such an amazing vibe. I ordered flights of both white and reds. I was impressed with most of them, particularly the 2022 Pinot Gris. I also ordered some food as well: the house ragu (so damn good), the farmhouse chicken sandwich (it was ok, more bread than chicken), and the crispy brussels sprouts. When I tell you that these brussels were some of the best I've ever had, I'm not playing with you, they really are. I know I'm late to the game but I'm so happy that I made this discovery, and so close to Sacramento. Nice to not have to drive all the way to Napa for some decent wine, and right in our back yard. I did like the brie, strawberry, meats, and bread. 3.5/5 - Marghertia Flatbread: topped with tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, and balsamic glaze. This was good. 4/5 - Crispy Brussels Sprouts: Brussels sprouts tossed in bacon jam, bleu cheese, and balsamic reduction. This was probably the star of lunch. It was so good! 5/5 - Arugula Salad: arugula with quinoa, goat cheese, grilled peaches and almonds with a citrus vinaigrette. This was also really good. Flavors meshed well together. 4.5/5 - Chocolate Cake a la mode: the cake was moist and rich. Ice cream was creamy and delish! 4.5/5 - Wine Flights: red and whites. $20 for 5 one ounce samples. A little on the steep side but they were all good. If you join their club, they waive the cost of the flight. SERVICE: Our server was friendly. Food came out pretty quickly. This winery is lovely. The view was spectacular.... Now onto the real review!. We ordered a bowl of mussels with spinach, white wine garlic sauce and andouille sausage . They were very good as was the creamy tomato bisque soup. The wine tasting was ok. It wasn't bad just eh, so- so. We had tasting #2, all reds with #3 & #4 the best . What urk me was the server Never returned to our table. We were left for dead. Why? I would have ordered a bottle of #3 or #4 yet she forgot about us completely. We waited and waited. Finally had to go to bar to get the check. U don't leave your guest unattended... you return to see if all is well. Unacceptable. It is kind of in the middle of nowhere but worth the travel. The food is great. I loved the Margherita flatbread. The balsamic glaze was super tasty. The filet mignon was good. The garnishes went great with the steak and the steak itself had great flavor. I would have preferred the steak to be served whole, but I actually didn't mind it being cut into slices after tasting. Went here 3 years ago and were treated rudely. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir, it tasted corked, so we asked for another, which also tasted horrible! Ended up getting a different bottle, can't remember since its been a while, but it also was not worth the money. The person behind the bar had such an attitude, as how dare we question their wine! She and someone else tasted it and said it was fine and it was us, perhaps, but so very rude and unprofessional in their attitudes. Fast forward to May 2025, Mothers Day. We decided to give them another chance. Ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir, still surprisingly awful to us at least. My wife and I are huge Pinot drinkers and this is one of the worst! We've tasted many wines over the years, but never so bad that it was not drinkable! Yuck! Oh and again, rude!!!!! Asked if he had a reservation, which we did not, so he immediately said, he could not serve up any food, because it's mothers day, yeah, thanks we know that. There were open tables inside/outside, he did not even offer for us to sit outside and serve us even an appetizer? We get it, we did not have reservations, but not even being apologetic and just dismissing us and then walking away, complete A-hole! We will never go back and will share our experience with all our friends in Loomis and Granite Bay! I'm in debates between a 3.5 vs 4. The location has a stunning hilltop view. On the drive up to the main restaurant, you have a view of the variety of grapes grown on property. There are plenty of photo opportunities. Especially with the sunset. Can seem some sheep as well. The outdoor seating is beautiful and provide a beautiful view of the vineyard, but can get chilly during winter times. A bit surprised they didn't have heat lamps. Careful of mosquitos Seems to be family owned. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. The flight tasting were okay, the pours seemed pretty light and are provided in plastic wine tumblers. This took away from the ambiance unfortunately. Cute, but nicer if glass The lamb is good, but pricey as expected. My friend did not finish the house rigotoli, so go with your gut. Steak bites are a bit small but okay. The charcuterie unfortunately could use some work for what it costs. It's appearance is mediocre and the cheese themselves are average. The bread isn't the best for it either. Can also substitute the mustardy jam with something more fruity flavor. Wouldn't get it again. Unfortunate that two bottles are required for tasting to be waived unlike most places that only require purchase of one bottle Overall, great place to visit if around sac and don't want to go all the way to napa. The manger is so rude. He wanted to charge us for a mistake they made. How the manger handled the situation was so uncomfortable and totally out of pocket. He eventually back to our table and made it right, but only after arguing with our table for 5 minutes about $12... Horrible customer service!! I know it's $12 but it's the principal. He was arguing about $12 on our tab over $500! Second time we've had horrible customer service from the same manager. We will not be back. read more

Great ambiance. This winery is tucked away down wise road past some breweries and other wineries. It feels like you're transported to somewhere else. It's maybe a 10 minute drive from downtown Lincoln. The tasting room is very small but you can bring your tasting outside if the weather permits. Their restaurant has a bar and seating, inside and out. You may want to make a reservation and check the times in advance. The food tastes fresh and is great quality every time. Food is great, but the ambience and service ruin it. I came here for a bridal shower with a group of five, and had an okay experience. We had a reservation for dinner, and the greeter who seated us rude to our designated driver (who is also 8 months pregnant). When she sat in a chair that wobbled precariously, she asked if they could swap it out. The greeters response was to say "Oh so you're high maintenance. What are you, the princess with the pea?" The greeters response ruined the happy energy and made our group feel really self-conscious. As for the rest of the experience, the indoor space was hot, crowded and loud. We had to shout to talk across the table to each other. We ordered wine tastings for the table and never had anyone come to explain which tastings we had in front of us. I think the menu should clarify that the tastings are self-guided. After we had tried to guess which wine was what, we finally flagged down a server to confirm the wines/order of tasting. As the indoor seating was hot, we drank a fair amount of water and asked for refills. The first bottle of water we were served was chilled, but the next was at room temperature. We asked our server if we could have more chilled water and they said they do not have chilled water... We thought they were joking since they were still providing chilled bottles to neighboring tables, but they refused. We ended up asking for glasses with ice. Finally, our food arrived. I ordered the seared salmon and it was exceptional. Unfortunately, we were ready to eat and leave since the rest of our experience was so disappointing. WHEN: Sat @2pm (Mid-June) PARKING: There is parking onsite but it may be dusty since they were under a bit of construction, but it might be done by now. We started with a wine tour, which was unfortunately indoors where the distillery was. Not a nice site compared to the warm bright outdoors, but oh well. No one wears a mask here so I felt like the only idiot with mine one (whatever). We were the last party to arrive so it was embarrassing that we were a bit late. It's a rare experience where the CEO of this huge winery gives the tour and explains everything. It was nice that at one point he is outside to the vines, but it was hit and sunny and I think the entire group wanted to be back inside with the AC. Another part of the tour included us being in the back room where all the barrels were. After that we stuck around to do some tasting, which costed $15. We were able to order food during the tasted, which we had: CRISPY BRUSSEL SPROUTS - $12 Tossed in bacon jam and topped with parmesan cheese and balsamic reduction. Yup it was tasty as it was described! STRAK BITES - $14 Tender, grilled USDA CAB steak bites over creamy mashed potatoes, topped with Demi-glacé. That meat was indeed tender and it was the perfect portion for us. There are 3 pieces for 3 of us, and it was mighty tasty! After the tasting was over, we lucked out on dining outdoors on thier patio where we had the lockers view of the winery. It was hot out and we just wanted desserts. Here's what we had: SANGRIA FLOAT - $15 Wise Wine's Sangria served over strawberry sorbet. This really hit the spot! Oh my gosh it was such a wonderful treat! I can't recommend this enough, especially on a hot day! AFFOGATO - $9.25 Espresso poured over Madagascar vanilla bean gelato. Pretty much your standard affogato. There was 2 decent sized scoops of the gelato. NEW YORK CHEESECAKE - $8 Served with seasonal berries and sauce. Don't expect a slice because it served in one of those tiny creamer brûlée ceramics. It's really small with one strawberry on top. Sure it was tasty but I don't recommend it--unless you want an absolute tiny dessert. I had a wonderful time here. The table umbrellas made all our food look red but we still had a lovely view and I felt more comfortable dining outside since no one here wears masks. My wife and I visited Wise Villa Winery to celebrate Valentine's Day! Atmosphere was so beautiful. We sat outdoors and enjoyed an amazing view of the vineyards and hillside. The inside of the bistro was very inviting and really cool. The food was excellent. What a jewel of a find! Knew nothing about it and most of the wineries in the area were closed on Thursday so took a chance and won the lottery! Beautiful setting, and to our surprise a high quality restaurant which had openings for dinner, nothing we had planned but decided to take advantage of the opportunity. We started with a wine flight and the it hummus appetizer. The hummus was accompanied by fresh veggies and crackers and was excellent. Paired well with the lighter wines on the flight.
