Hello. I am next door neighbor owning "Angel's Café". I am writing this review to support GET IN SHAPE because they deserve it. The owner Paula is extremely nice and professional that week answer ANY question you might have. Many of their clients are coming to our cafe and share with us the experience. I just signed up for my second year with Paula and her team and am a happy customer. I like the small group format and find that I get plenty of individual attention whenever I need it. I have lost weight and gained strength. I have improved my balance, which is a big issue. Above all, I enjoy the atmosphere and camaraderie at the studio. Paula is very present, dancing, laughing and signing along with us. Paula and her team are highly trained and enjoy their work and inspire us to enjoy our efforts. I began working with Paula and her team this past summer and it has been a life changing program for me and I 1000% recommend it. I am only 24 years old and my friends thought I was crazy to join a program they thought was for older women, when I could just go to the gym on my own. For me, the accountability of having an appointment was what held me to keep going. I often times am one of the younger women working out, but I always feel like this is the program for me. Paula is excellent - she accommodates my hectic schedule and is flexible when I need to be, she sends me texts to check in, and she understands when things have been tough and I may not be at my best. The trainers are wonderful and keep you moving and motivated throughout the class. While exercising I learn different recipes, techniques, and tips to help me achieve my goals. While yes, the program on paper looks pricey, if you compare the cost to personal training at other gyms, it is significantly less and you actually learn how to be healthy at GIS. read more

Stay away! There is a reason they don't post their prices. They make you have a meeting with the owner Paula to discuss your goals. During this meeting she is clearly following a script and makes you feel terrible about yourself and tries to make you think you are being interviewed and might not get to actually join. She wants to make sure you're a good fit. After you're congratulated that you can in fact join, the hard sell began bc I was only signed up to do a promotional package and she wanted to lock me in a contract. Thank god I did not cave to the initial pressure. This gym is awful! You can only work out by appointment and you are not allowed to use the online signup if you aren't a certain level of membership. You have to call or be there in person to make appointments. Their hours are extremely sporadic and all of the desirable time slots are already filled by "regular" members. They are open about 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon/ dinner time. Paula the owner runs around frantically never giving you the attention you paid for. There were several times where I had personally spoken to her to change appointment times where after she actually called me up to berate me that I didn't show up when in fact I had spoken to her myself. Also, on three occasions I showed up for time slots (confirmed and written down on a paper for me by her) when I was told I couldn't work out bc I wasn't signed up. She bullies you and makes you feel bad when she does weight and measurement checks. When I wasn't losing weight, she accused me of cheating, when in fact she figured out the info she gave me wasn't enough calories for the amount of exercise I was doing. Once again she blamed it on me for also exercising on my own. It was a terrible experience leaving me flustered and stressed out. This gym is thousands of dollars per year. Avoid at all costs. read more
