When my key with new battery would not start my Toyota Corolla, Phl, the Manager, I believe, leaped in to help! At first he got the snow plow to try to jump start to no avail, but Phil stayed with me. He had the intelligence to finally realize my key had been wiped and had to be reprogrammed. He sat in the car on a busy, cold, snowy day with me managing the all call and reprogramming of my FREE new key! When we had to wait, he made sure I had a comfortable chair in the office and free popcorn. I was so touched by the whole operation - Phil saved me the expense of calling AAA or having to buy a new key and he waved off the plow driver who returned to ask for payment for trying (unsuccessfully) to jump start my car. I cannot say how grateful I am to Phil (from Liverpool) for his thoughtful kindness, expert attention, and thorough professionalism. I highly recommend you do business with him! Execution was a different story altogether. The coordination by the Lowe's project office and subcontractors was horrendous. They delivered windows without the requested grids, patio doors WITHOUT THE GLASS, they didn't give the contractor enough nails for the siding, then complained to us that HE was the problem. Punch list? It's been 3 years and we still have items they said they'd "come back for" and never did. Broken tension springs on brand new Pella windows, so they never stay up, lack of weatherstripping around storm doors. And the siding trim puckers and rolls of the temp gets above 80 degrees. No. We don't recommend Lowe's. Get a relationship with a good local contractor that doesn't sub it all out. You might spend a bit more money. But You'll be much happier.

The plumber found there were 26 at the store. She told me there were none of that specific type, but would have 3 others to choose from when I got there. When I arrived, she had 3 filters laid out. I was like, I needed a flange repair. Who can I talk to in plumbing? She was literally 16 yrs old, tons of facial piercings and tattoos. She said " I'm in plumbing." She apologized, and showed me the flanges that were not where the one I wanted was showing on the internet, but she assured me this was all they had. I took 3 alternatives and when I got back 4o minutes later, the plumber said none would work. He had to go back to Home Depot and pick it up. He found it immediately while I was calling and put on hold for 30 minutes, then she picked up and disconnected me, then I called back and was on hold another 30 minutes. The plumber was back and I still hadn't spoken to anyone. Finally she picked up and said "oh! I found the one you wanted". I was like ya, you're ignorance and incompetence just cost me $150. I will NEVER shop at home depot again. I'll drive extra 15 minutes to Lowe's. Homeowner for 25 and will be for life. They just lost a LOT more than that.

Really, I've found a variety of odd bolts, downspouts, aluminum channel, and other things that I can never find at Home Depot. And the people know what they're talking about. I'm not saying that no one at Home Depot knows anything, but there's a difference. The pipefitter who's working as a Home Depot as a greeter is a nice guy and I wish him all the best, but the guy at Ricci who knows where every obscure nut and bolt is located does me more good. I haven't compared the prices. I doubt if Ricci is cheaper, but my guess is that they're similar in prices and frequently after I go to Home Depot, I have to stop at Ricci anyway.
