Had a small box of garbage to dispose of in a handful of bricks. Approximately 75 pounds worth of disposal. They charged $120. Confused and bewildered. I went and dumped my stuff and then came back and spoke to them and wanted them to check the weight. They informed me that they do not charge per weight just by vehicle. And because I was driving a standard pick up truck. I would be charged a flat fee of $120. This place is a rip off stay clear. They should be charged for theft! The Oregon city dump would charge you a minimum fee for something small like this, around $45. STAY AWAY!!! read more

I am a small business. They charged my account twice in one month. I looked up my online account history and the double charge does not show. I checked the statement, no record of a double charge, or refund. I called to correct the error. After an hour and a half on hold, I hung up. The website says they have live chat and other customer services but they do not. All links they give lead to the same unhelpful page. The website gives no email address or other option to contact them. My coworker Googled Waste Management live chat Hillsboro Oregon, hovered over the Commercial Customer Service email link - right clicked - clicked "copy email address" and pasted it into an email. Honestly, the staff was friendly and helpful but it seems like everyone wasn't on the same page. Each person gave me an additional piece of information, which I'm thankful for, but had the first person given me all the necessary information I would not have wasted time. Each employee should know the proper steps (Checklist) and procedures so that customers aren't confused once they get to the dump. I came here for asbestos drop off. The steps below are for people dropping off asbestos. Hope this helps. ASBESTOS REMOVAL AND DROP OFF Step 1. Get 6 mil bags yellow and clear (DO NOT GET WOVEN FABRIC FROM HOME DEPOT) Step 2. Put the asbestos material in the yellow bag and fold the tail down and duct tape it shut. Step 3. Place the yellow bag inside the clear and fold the tail down and duct tape it shut. Step 4. Anywhere on the bag write your name, address, and phone number. Make sure you write it on the blank spaces. Step 5. Fill out the Asbestos Waste Shipment Report Form. Step 6. Take materials to designated drop off. Step 7. Be ready to pay $100 for every 1000 pound. * *note: they weight you when you come in and when you're leaving. They'll subtract the two and that is what you'll pay. Be sure to get all these steps done so that you're not running around like a mad person due to lack of info. read more

Well, this review seems pointless because it's not like you have another option. WM is the only garbage removal service offered. There website is pretty basic and doesn't allow for a lot of features it should. I was Ted to cancel service due to a move. You have to call to do this. I tried calling 3x, but the hold time was over 30 minutes each time so I wasn't able to wait. I had to plan out a specific time to cal when I knew I'd have two hours to wait. I finally found a time and waited 45 minutes to reach someone. The woman I spoke with was nice, but wouldn't help me because I wasn't on the account. Even though last time we called we added me to the account. There was no record of this. She was nice enough to stay on the phone with me to 3-way call my BF who owned the account. Thank goodness because I didn't want to have to call back and wait another 45 min or more. I don't care who you are, 45 minute hold times to request basic service requests? That's ridiculous. I have two stars because at least the customer service rep was polite. read more

I rarely need to go to the landfill and the Waste Management Landfill in Hillsboro, Oregon off of Minter Bridge Road is the closest facility to my house. I wanted to drop off some yard debris that is less than a square yard of debris and wouldn't all fit in my yard debris can. I figured this would be an easy process and cost less than $10 dollars as my monthly bill with them (Waste Management is the only option in my neighborhood) is only $7.45 per month for yard debris. When I got to the facility I was shocked to find out they wanted to charge me their flat rate for a minimum load size of $91. I am disgusted with this charge and believe they are taking advantage of their customers. Pricing for something they turn into mulch or topsoil and then sell to other customers where they again make more money is uncalled for and should be addressed. Do better WM! read more

I would give zero stars if I could. This corporation is RIDICULOUS and have a choke hold on Beaverton. Called corp number about getting a dumpster for just landscaping material. There is a reason it is not listed on the website. Fees as follows: $350 down payment Fees taken from down payment $58 deliver $5.70/day rent $117 pick up $70 "liner" fee $12/yd disposal $14/load environmental fee 14.5% franchisee fee based on total. I can't believe I'm reviewing a landfill - but I'm compelled! I recently moved and, as most folks experience during a move, I had some stuff to get rid of. One thing in particular was a chair. This chair was primarily metal and had enough cosmetic damage that Goodwill and Salvation Army turned it down. So I drove to TVWR to see how much it would cost me to dispose of it. A few employees consulted and agreed that the chair was a high enough percentage of metal that I could just throw the whole thing in the metal bin for free. The entrance is clearly marked. As soon as you drive in, there's a friendly employee stationed to give you some direction about where to go for whatever it is you're there to dispose of. Interestingly enough, the place did not stink at all... I don't know what kind of alchemy they use to make the scent of a landfill vanish, but whatever they do is working. read more

Only one review of this dump? Well, I must agree that 4 stars is appropriate. They have changed the dump scheme here from the last time. Now, there are a group of bins that you back your vehicle into and can separate your various scrap items. This helps with a couple of things: First, it is a load off my conscience that things are being separated properly before disposal, and I had a hand in it! Second, the smell that is usually associated with taking your garbage to a massive landfill is magically whisked away as you are now quite a distance from the actual landfill. I don't know who they hire for engineers in Hillsboro, but they have some pretty good ones. They are able to remove the stench from both the dump AND the water treatment plants, they have improved traffic with the blinking yellow left turn arrows, and the streets are well laid out. Sure, we are 30 minutes from everywhere, but hey...you gotta dig the results of some talented scientists. Ok, I digressed a bit... Summary: If you gotta go to the dump, they do their best to make is as painless as possible. Can't ask for much more. read more

Unbelievable, now after being a neighbor of 15 years tolerating their customers and trucks debris falling off along roadside, mud, choking dust and dirt from debris falling off their trucks because I had knowledge of their location prior to purchasing my home and had no beefs because they allowed neighbors on both sides free access to the landfill. Well.....once I FINALLY found this place, it was quite nice, as far as landfills go. But be ready to hand over the $$'s. Pack your vehicle to the gills as it is $80 regardless of how much you have. There is no assistance so be prepared to unload & toss into the designated bins. Yes, they have you sort your trash. Recently Waste Management took over our area in Beaverton. I cannot believe they refuse to deliver a 10 yard dumpster to my house. Jasmine, on the nation wide phone and not local, informed me that she could give me a 20 yard, that won't even fit in my neighborhood, or a 5 yard which is too small. The prior LOCAL company that we had been with for years had no problem renting us what we need. Jasmine informed me that the 10 yard is only for "heavy product" like rock and concrete. Horrible attitude on the phone like I was bugging her. Super not happy that i am stuck with this company that clearly puts revenue and their wants before their customers or even customer service. read more

Can I give ZERO STARS??? I have now had 2 interactions with Waste Management and the BOTH have been terrible!! The first one was 3 months ago, A 3 month long story shortened.... They screwed up picking up and dumping dumpsters, Almost sent me to collections over their mistake, and I had to have my bookkeeper call them daily for 2 months!! This time I am supposed to have a dumpster delivered today (Friday) from a reservation I made on Monday, so I can work over the weekend. They call me JUST now to tell me that they can't deliver it because they don't service my area, they only service right across the street. Now I have to call a different company to see if they can deliver one today. Can they? Probably not! They want 24 hour notice at least!! AND THEY ALREADY CHARGED ME $450! read more

I wish I could give them 5 negative stars. I am a caregiver for a handicapped 83 year old man. He is not capable of carrying the containers to the curb. They are supposed to come to the garage where the bins are sitting just outside of the garage. The garbage and recycle get picked up most of the time. Not all of the time. The glass is another issue. The driver is so lazy that he can't get off his ass to come up and carry the glass bin to the truck. We have been on the phone with them probably about 8 times in the last 2 months and they tell us it will be taken care of. They tell you that to get off the phone and then nothing happens. The glass has been sitting out there for 2 months. The driver says he doesn't see the red bin!!!!!!!!!! How can he drive a truck if he can't see??????? The company sucks big time. read more

We are experienced home remodelers and have been working on our current home, built in 1953. This is our first remodel since the new asbestos removal and disposal rules have been in place. After literal hours of researching proper detection, testing, removal and disposal rules and techniques, we embarked on our task. When we got to the disposal step I went to Hillsboro Landfill to pick up supplies. The office staff were very helpful and there was a bulletin board with illustrations for proper packaging of the asbestos-contaminated material. They had disposal bags, the required 'caution' labels and duct tape for sale as well. I had some questions about the ASN 4 form - it is set up for commercial use and I wanted to be sure I filled it out properly as a homeowner - and the staff were helpful with that as well. Overall, our experience at the scales, at the asbestos drop-off area, and in the office was positive. The staff at Hillsboro Landfill were professional and friendly. Thank you!! read more

Nothing wrong with our experience of actually leaving items at the dump. They are well organized and the process went smoothly. However, they give false and misleading information about the price. If you bought something in a store and the sign says it's one price, but they want to charge you a few dollars more at the register, what customer would put up with that? I'm sure it's illegal. On their website, it says "Personal Vehicles (pick-ups, cars, etc.) - $30.00", so I thought I would be paying $30. But if you look closely it says above that this is a fee charged if you don't secure your load, and the actual price per load is not listed at all. When we arrived, a large sign at the entrance says "personal vehicles $32" and when we arrived at the scales I was told the price for a personal vehicle load was $35. I told them I was expecting it to be $30 and they said I just hadn't read their website carefully, and that's a very common mistake many people make. Yet they don't bother to fix it. They offered zero explanation for the fact I'd just driven past a large sign that said $32. read more
