I have visited this place twice and been satisfied. The 1st time was many years ago when they 1st opened. I remember ordering Wings and Tater Tots. Hubby and I visited because it was late, and this place was one of the only places open. My food was sooo good. The 2nd time was last Wednesday, and I ordered online for pick up. Walked in about 1:30pm and the sign said seat yourself. You had a choice between high bar tables or low tables which was nice because since my knee replacement is hard for me to sit on high barstools. So we chose a low table. The waitress came over right away for our drink orders and gave us menus. My friend and I ordered Diet Coke. We decided to share an order of lemon pepper, wings, and an order of hamburger sliders with loaded french fries. We asked for the wings and the fries to be well done. The wings were amazing. They came out hot full of flavor and well done like we asked. They brought us both ranch and blue cheese, which was perfect cause my friend likes blue cheese and I like ranch. The burgers were delicious also with fried onions, mushrooms, a secret sauce, and American cheese. Even though the waitress was overwhelmed and very busy when a big party came in for a birthday in the back room, she still checked up on us. And we enjoyed our meal. We did have to wait a little bit for our food, but that's because they cook everything as you order it and I didn't mind that at all because the food came out hot and delicious. Our server Landyn was so personable and attentive! Our food came out quickly and was hot and fresh! They had a big beer selection and we got the Fat tire, Pariah Tiger Sauce and Cushwa Face Chop as far as beers! The German pretzel was great I loved the beer cheese! The Mac and cheese bites were amazing and the burger to go was perfect when my husband ate it later! I got the French onion soup as well and I thought it could use a little bit of salt but other than that it was great! The restaurant was not too loud but was lively for sure and very comfortable. The fish and chips are so delicious! It's my favorite I've tried thus far. The coleslaw is fresh, not too much mayo and the fries are delicious. The fish was fried to perfection! I put the tarter sauce and coleslaw on the fish and let me say it is so yummy! I may pick up an order today. We visited this spot after to local spot didn't fall through. And like the other spot it was crowded, and due to football season. When you walk in, there is a sign to advise to seat yourself. Not a good thing for especially when we are still a pandemic, IMO. The indoor seating was pretty much full, so we had to sit outdoors, and there wasn't many good places to sit. Once we found a spot, we waited for a server. Sad, we noticed that there was only one server for the whole area. Our server, asked us if she could get us something to drink. We ordered waters with lemon. We were looking for menus, and then she placed a card in front of us and advised we had to scan with our phones to see the menu. (I do wonder what if someone doesn't have a phone to view the menu) So after checking the menu, I was hoping to order from their weekend menu, the bacon egg's benedict, but when we started to place our order, we were advised that the brunch items are not available once the game starts. It would've been handy if that was posted somewhere on their menu, sense we had to wait a minute for the server to return. I had to finally ask her to help us with the menu, since this was our first visit to the location. I can tell she was annoyed with us, and I beginning to feel the same way. I was already annoyed at how unclean the tables were, including the ladies room. There paper towels all over the floor, and the air dryer was out of order, plus the soap dispensers were malfunctioning. Finally, we placed our orders, we ordered the jumbo pretzel for starters and then I had the BYOB, with fried onions (not even fried onions, they were battered fried onions to be exact, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and Chipotle barbecue sauce with Swiss, and hubby had the shrimp linguine. We ended up switching, since my burger was not appeasing nor deserve a good rating. I will say the burger was fresh, since I did cut a small piece from it, but here is where things went wrong, the cheese barely melted to the burger, there was hardly any sauce, since they charge you for every topping, the bacon was sadly so small and costly, and the fries, well re-fried. YES Refried old fries! Now hubby's dish, was tasty but very spicy and the shrimp was a tad salty. So I would've been nice if the server checked on the guests often. I went in this afternoon (2:45pm) to watch the Commanders and the Eagles. We were a part of two and sat at one of the high tops at the bar. The petite waitress (blonde, half up hair) walked directly past my table 3 times without any acknowledgment. A brunette lady then walked by with no acknowledgment. After about 8 - 10 minutes, a gentleman with glasses walked over and asked "have you been helped?". I responded with hello, and after no acknowledgment we told him no and gave him our drink orders. The place was less than half empty. It picked up in about 30 minutes and then we were asked repeatedly but 5 different staff members if we needed anything. Clearly there are no assigned tables and while watching the game, I don't want to have to explain to 4 people in 3 minutes that I already ordered. At the very least, greet diners, "hey, we'll be with you in a moment". "Welcome to World of Beer, we'll be with you soon." Some type of acknowledgment. These are small improvements that would completely change the experience. read more

Went here for a happy hour event with some friends. Happy Hour was from 3pm -7pm. We arrived around 6pm and it was packed. We were able to find a large table for our group and were served by multiple wait staff. I believe the restaurant has a "community style table service." This was awesome because at no point were we ever waiting for a long time for any item. Everything seemed to come out in minutes. I ordered the Margherita Flatbread. It was a hit! My friends nearly ate all of it so I had to order a second but so good! I highly recommend and with the happy hour special. Great value for your money. I had a glass of Merlot as well on happy hour and it was only $6. Chicken Tacos left a little something to be desired. The boneless buffalo chicken was very good! Atmosphere was nice. We sat inside. This was our second time. The first time the food was fine but took over 30 minutes to get the food. This was soon after they opened, so we thought maybe they're just ironing out some kinks. Went again yesterday. Staff was very attentive! Because they use a QR code instead of physical menus, we were asked 5 times if we'd placed an order. Our appetizer, the German pretzel, came out very fast. A different server took our main order. And this is where things went off the rails. After waiting almost 30 minutes, I asked a server to check on our food as we were catching a movie later. Turns out the order never went through to the kitchen. She took our order and expedited it, so we still made it to our movie on time. Food was fine. Not great, everything was kind of greasy. I was very surprised upon entering that there was only one server in the main area of the restaurant during the lunch hour. Apparently, lunch is not a busy time for this place as there were only 4 other parties seated. Since service has been slow during past visits I made it a point to review the menu prior to arrival. When the server/bartender requested our drink order we gave her our entire lunch order. Despite there being very few people in the restaurant our lunch order took longer than I expected to arrive. Our server did not bring our food but rather a gentleman who was running between the kitchen and front of the house. The food was decent lunch fair (burger, loaded tots, and wings). I have visited this place number of times. And never been disappointed. Seems like on Wednesdays they have trivia night. So it's pretty crowded and loud. We sat at the bar. And service was very quick. Bartender was attentive. Even though she was the only one And food came out pretty quick. I ordered bowl with steak kimchi egg and all greens. Remember to specify how to cook your steak. I usually do. It comes out right. But this time i did not so it was overdone. We also tried getting pepperoni flat bread. They did not serve it that night. So got barbecue one instead. It is just as described. But one may say flavor overdose. Yet again. It is exactly as described. Nice ambience. If it's not their super busy night. World of beer in Owings Mills is a pretty cool place. It's it's the kind of place that you go to get a good beer or drink with friends and or colleagues. It's not necessarily a place to go to on a date. Or if you want a upscale type of dining experience. The drinks are good but can get expensive (note: it was a little strange to order a margarita and not be presented with the typical salted rim glass). The food is decent but not overwhelming. The service is good, the staff seem to be constantly busy because there are plenty of customers that need service of libation. I had chicken tenders and fries which were just okay as well as tequila and a margarita because it was Cinco de Mayo. Everyone was in the festive mood and they were plenty of smiles and laughs to go around the restaurant. I'm not sure if I would return to this place specifically, but I would certainly go if invited by friends or colleagues and I'm certain that my experience would be decent to pleasurable once more. read more

My friends and I hit up World of Beer for happy hour while I was visiting Maryland last month. This was my first time at any WOB and I was impressed with the amount of beer available on tap and otherwise. Our bar tender was great! He allowed us to sample a few before purchasing a beer. This is always helpful as no one wants to pay for something they don't like. As a pre-dinner snack we ordered the mac and cheese bites and the margarita flatbread. The mac and cheese bites were ooey gooey delicious but rich. I only had one and gave the rest to my niece LOL. The Margherita flatbread was very tasty. The ingredients were fresh and the presentation was nice. This place was buzzing for happy hour. I liked the vibe of this spot and the guests were laid back enjoying themselves. We visited this establishment for a quick meal to continue celebrating birthdays and the start of summer. The restaurant is large with lots of seating. At 2pm it was almost empty. On the way in, we noticed a sign proclaiming Wing Wednesday. We settled into a booth and ordered a round of drinks, including a specialty beer. I'm not a beer girl, but it was confirmed to be fruity and non beer like which is always a plus. We decided we wanted the Wing Wednesday special. Here's where the afternoon went south. We were informed the signage was old and it could not be honored. I did say we passed the sign, outside on the patio, right? So one of our friends escorted the waiter OUTSIDE to show him the sign. He picked it up, brought it back inside and again said he could not honor the price. By this time the manager walked up. He SAID there was NO WAY he could input the price in their register. Since World of Beer in Owings Mills opened, I've been dying to try it. I went with my cousin on a Saturday evening, it was as you probably guessed busy. Upon entering I noticed there was no hostess so we waited 1 minute until we took action and decides to seat ourselves outside. We waited almost half an hour before someone outside even decided to serve us and not because they noticed us but because I had to flag at least 3 different people down. Our server was half-assing us which I get it it was busy and all but maybe asking me for a refill on the water when it's got as hell would've been nice or check to make sure we were ok. Honestly, I would give this place a 1 star on that alone. The food was very "meh" it was lukewarm and I am guessing it's because of how busy it was. The most redeemable thing that is encouraging me to go back was alcohol. I ordered this cider flight and it was incredible the key lime pie one was amazing and the one people kept asking me about the most. It was semi-sweet with a tart kick. I'd go again, maybe when it's less busy tbh so I can have a better judge of the food quality. read more

I've now been to the Towson and Owings Mills location. Both places are an experience to remember. We ordered nachos for the table, chipotle BBQ flat bread, house salad, chicken sandwich (spicy super yummy) , Original chili and shrimp pasta! Everything was flavorful, hot and yummy! Stopped here for dinner as things began to shut down again due to covid. Staff was polite and had a good knowledge of all of the beers. It was also burger night, starting at $5 which included French fries. Burger was a little overcooked so was the egg on the burger. I didn't say anything because it still tasted ok. Fries were good. My co worker had a salad and wings. The salad's presentation was exquisite. The wings were the Korean and had a nice flavor.
