I wouldn't think about going anywhere else. She is a staple in our community. Here is wha she did for me over the last few days. Remember this is Christmas week. I called Beth on Tuesday morning to tell her that there's something in my eye, but it wasn't on my contact lens and it's not coming out. I explained it to her and she told me it was a floater. Never heard of this before by the way. She then asked me if I've seen lightning strikes in my eye, which is not a good sign. Yes I told her. I was in Manorville at the time and she asked me to immediately come back to our office to be examined by the doctor. I couldn't leave. I was babysitting my grandchildren. And then it was Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so I set it up to come in on Thursday. She gave me the first appointment in the morning going out of her way to get it done. She was concerned that I might have a tear in my retina. She made several phone calls to find a retina specialist for me and Friday morning. I was sitting in Wright a specialist office who immediately performed laser procedure repairing the tear. The doctor said this could've been a lot worse if I waited. Thank you, Beth thank your staff and thank you Dr. Rua for your expertise and pushing me to go see the specialist.

Please note that I cannot possibly reduce to words the interaction I had with Dr Speiser at Peale…read moreVision but I will certainly give it a shot here. To sum it up in as few words as possibly - "utterly entertaining". I would highly recommend visiting with Dr Speiser just for the entertainment value alone. Would I ever purchase any goods or services there? No, of course not. So the story begins with a referral to Dr Speiser by some other optical place I had called looking for an optician. He was highly recommended but I have a feeling that was motivated solely by business interest, especially given Speiser's fervent inquiry into the identity of the person who sent me there even after I told him that I never got a name. When I had called to book the eye exam, I was told that they took my insurance and that I would only be responsible for a co-pay, which is $25 I believe. However, when I got there, things changed entirely. Spieser had me sit down and and took out a pen and pad, kind of like what happens at a car dealership. He asked me about the health of eyes. I said I appreciate his concern but I had just seen an MD a few months prior and had a complete barrage of exams and that I was just there for a typical eye exam in order to get a new pair of glasses. Unfortunately, my response failed to slow him down. It was at that point, if I recall correctly, that he started writing down the different prices for the different levels or types of eye exams. (Levels of eye exams for eyeglasses???, I thought) I reiterated that I was just looking to get a pair of new glasses. Again, this didn't even slow him down. I could write a book on this but suffice it to say that he was pushing for a $149 exam in addition to I believe the one that my insurance would cover save the $25 co-pay, which would bring the total to about $174. There was a third exam for like $50 and I think he suggested purchasing all three. In all honesty, at that point I was hardly listening to him and had one eye on the door. I think my MD eye doctor charges $150. Opticians on my vision plan charge $0. The cherry on the Speiser sundae was his telling me that he's worth it because his exams are "spectacular". As one of the other reviewers here correctly pointed out, Speiser is utterly sarcastic but that just added to the beauty of the interaction. Book your appointment today, folks!

Misdiagnosed, scammed and I'm pissed. My wife and I have been going to see Dr. Wianecka in Babylon…read morefor YEARS now. I had an issue with my eye and Dr. Wianecka wasn't in the office so I saw her colleague Dr. Blum. The problem I had was on my upper eyelid not inside my eye, this is key to my story. She diagnoses me with something prescribed me some an ointment to put on my upper eyelid for a few times a day. Dr. Blum offered no suggestion as to what caused this or how it happened. I tried the ointment and my eye immediately got extremely itchy and was getting worse not better so I called the office back and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Wianecka 2 days later. This is where it gets even more unprofessional and pathetic. Dr Wianecka sees me, I explain the situation and she says no I don't think it's what the other doctor said...two doctors same group not on the same page...pretty odd. Then she proceeds to try and blame me for the issue that occurred, and said must be an allergic reaction to something. Meanwhile, Ive eaten nothing new, no new soaps, fragrances, shampoos, laundry detergent, NOTHING, so it 1000% is not from that, very lame to blame it on the patient just because you don't know why the problem is occurring. Then she says oh the ointment that Dr. Blum prescribed has a high % of people who reported bad reactions to it...WHY WAS I PRESCRIBED THIS!? She then insists to put these eye drops in my eye meanwhile yet AGAIN I told her the issue is outside of my eye it's on my eyelid and then wanted to prescribe me an eye steroid drop. No good reason as to why either was prescribed. She made it sound like the drops she showed me in office would be cheap only to find out when I walked out I'm hit a ANOTHER $50 copayment, plus $30 for these drops. Why am I being charged another copay when I was MISDIAGNOSED and not properly treated which caused me to go back to your office TWO days later. This is disgusting behavior and I'll never go here again. I ended up going to another eye doctor and got my problem fixed immediately. The fact that I was charged another copayment when it wasn't my fault along with all of the other issues is insane. Go find another doctor that actually cares.
