Restaurant Style: Chinese Takeout   Last Visit: 05/17/19   Ambiance: although this is an order-from-the-menu-at-the-counter kind of place, they do have a few nice tables to eat-in. Be warned, they'll bring the food to you but the plates and cutlery are all styrofoam and plastic. Drinks come in cans and bottles.   Service:  Prompt, courteous and helpful.  They will not really wait on your table other than to bring out your food.   Food: There is an extensive menu of takeout standards such as General Tso's chicken, egg rolls, Moo goo gai pan, wonton soup, etc. For beach vacationers, you can get most anything to take back to the rental. Some things they do very well including hot and sour soup, egg drop soup, shrimp rolls, crab Rangoon and-that old standard-chow mein. It took me years to perfect Crab Rangoon at home and Wok and Roll has these 3-inch crunchy stars holding gushing cream cheese and begging for the sweet dipping sauce. I'm jealous. I like hot and sour soup and test it everywhere. The version here warms the lips nicely with a spiciness that you do not have to pay for all day. Sauces seem light and supporting rather than pasty and clinging. Some items (shrimp rolls) work better than others (vegetable spring rolls). Also available are several steamed plates (mixed vegetables, chicken or beef with vegetables, shrimp with vegetables) and fried American staples such as wings, shrimp, chicken nuggets, scallops, crab sticks. This is the the kind of place that fills up at lunch with all the construction guys laying pipe and building houses for hot food and lots of it. Try here for the quick in and out.   Food for the non-Carnivore: They will prepare most entrees without the meat.  There are some vegetarian items such as vegetable delight, bean curd Szechuan, eggplant in garlic sauce.   For Kids: No dedicated children's menu, but you ought to be able to come up with something from all the options.   Difference Dividend: Explore the Hibachi Grill-style items.   Hours: Monday through Thursday 10:30 AM - 10:00 PM, Friday and Saturday 11:00 AM - 11:00 AM, Sunday 11:30 AM - 10-00 PM, but always call first because this is the beach and too many places put out the "gone fishing" sign.   Expense Account: Figure about $10 each.   Adult Beverages: none. read more

We stumbled upon Lazy Turtle while exploring Oak Island. We had the Turtle Burger and it was beyond good!! Also on Thursday's 16 oz domestic beers for $2 and mixed drinks $3 was super!!! Tried this place for the second time, again, fell short of expectation. The rice is yellow rice and is boring. Had the fried scallops and they were just like the frozen store bought brand. The pineapple chicken had very little taste. Not a fan as I like a lot of flavor and taste. read more

When this particular restaurant first opened it was very good and has slowly gone downhill fast. I ate there about a month ago and the food was horrible so I gave them a second chance and it did not change my mind it again was horrible the sesame chicken was soggy and tasteless and the fried rice was hard as a rock. Normally we go to Asian taste, but tonight we tried Wok and Roll. We ordered our usual, chicken wings with chicken fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, Chicken fried rice and 2 egg rolls. Price wise no comparison, about the same. The egg rolls are smaller at wok and roll and the batter on the sweet and sour chicken is thicker. The chicken wings at wok and roll are of a higher quality and Chicken fried rice, more chicken than Asian taste. So if your in the Midway 211 area I (we) recommend Wok and Roll!! read more

Walked in to sit in and eat with my family. Asked if we could sit in to eat and we're given a cold nod. My father in law went up to get a few menus where the woman up front was. After a few moments, he went back up to ask for another menu, the woman stared at him with a blank face and walked away. Absolutely ignored him and seemed upset that we were sitting in. Excellent service whether dinning in or carrying out. The Singapore noodles are some of the very best I've had in 29 years of eating the dish. I've eaten at a Wok & Roll in other towns and decided I wanted Chinese so gave the Bolivia location a shot. The staff was friendly, the location was clean, and the food was made to order. I ordered the shrimp and broccoli combo with white rice and Egg Drop/Wonton soup. I didn't really care for the soup much. It was a really weird neon yellow/green color. I've had this soup elsewhere and I know it's yellow etc but this was truly neon lol. It was ok in flavor but the won-tons were subpar in my opinion. I won't order that again. The shrimp and broccoli was delicious. The serving size is enough to feed two for sure. I only could eat about a 1/3 after my soup. I would definitely try this place again as it's a bargain for the amount of food you get. My meal was a little over $9 dollars and I had left overs for the next day. read more

Swimming in Soy Sauce Went to try this new Asian restaurant and what a disappointment! I ordered vegetable LoMein, now how can you mess this up! We to start, I could not find the vegetables, a couple of snow peas, 3 pieces of broccoli , no carrots, onions, cabbage stouts, the usual sin LoMein. We have been to this restaurant twice....we thought the food was okay but and a big BUT...the place is really dirty...no one sweeps the floor or wipes the table...the tables and floors have a lot of debris. They use paper plates which are very thin and their utensils are small and I mean small plastic forks and knives.....I was so disappointed in this. We had lunch twice and took some food for dinner....no condiments for the egg rolls or fried rice were added.....and...the fried rice was greasy and lacking eggs.....what a big disappointment this place is....be careful, especially about the cleanliness....they had a 92 rating but wouldn't have gotten even that on the days we were there. read more

The egg drop soup, the wonton soup and chicken noodle soup all have dye in them so the color of the broth is almost orange or deep yellow. Do yourself a favor and go to Southport gourmet and sushi. The look of the restaurant looked very clean for a Chinese restaurant , but when I went in there was an unpleasant smell that took some getting used to. The food, like all Chinese restaurants, filled me up, but it was not very good. There was not an option for a fountain drink, only bottled drinks. Szechuan Beef was not spicy at all, even when I requested extra spicy. Oh well. Today we gave it another shot. We won't be going back. No taste. No zing. No spice. How does one make General Tso's Chicken that's not spicy? It tasted like heavily breaded mushy chicken doused in some dull, flavorless sauce. All the dishes seem the same.
