House Fried Rice Hot & Sour Soup I'm sad to say that my hopes to find a good Chinese restaurant we're dashed the day I went to Quik Wok. The food wasn't even marginally good. I took it to go and ate it at home. The portion size was large on the rice, but I simply could not eat it, it ended up in the trash. It was just not good. I have loved hot and sour soup, my whole life, and have eaten it at dozens of restaurants in my life. This was NOT good hot and sour soup. I really don't understand how this restaurant has so many negative reviews. I ordered dinner here for the first time today an hour before closing time. Wait time for the pickup was 30 minutes. I arrived 10 minutes early and was greeted, food in hand, and out the door in about five minutes. The customer service was fantastic. I received the following: Combination #4 Chicken Chow Mein, Chicken Fried Rice, Mandarin Chicken, & Fried Shrimp. You can bet that i promptly ate a fried shrimp in the car. I unpacked the food at home, skeptical due to the negative ratings. I found very little to be negative about my meal. The chow mein is awesome, the fried shrimp crispy and hot, the mandarin chicken is BOMB, and the fried rice while a little dry was still good. Had a late night and needed to get something delivered to feed the family. We must of received the last of the left over food cause our order was almost non-edible. The sweet and sour pork we ordered was cold and hard as a rock and there was barely any sauce for it. The other order was chicken and broccoli and tender beef with baby corn nothing tender about the beef and tasted like it was scraped from the bottom of the barrel. When our food arrived the contents in it had spilled all inside the bag and there was chicken and broccoli inside all 3 of our orders. We ended up throwing our food away cause it was not edible. Worse chow mein I have ever had. It was like crispy chow mein noddles that were soggy. I expected traditional chow mein and I don't know what you call this. Gag! Dirty restaurant. On the table sat Sesame seeds in a shaker that was gooey, sticky (never cleaned), soy sauce was in a glass vase that has never been washed, just refill it once in awhile, probably just adding to what's already been in there for years!!! Beef tasted like chewing on a dish water cloth, and food tasted like the dish water (really) and rice was dry and hard. Ketchup and mustard squeeze bottles were sticky and also gooey. Ketchup looked really old and would not go back into the top spout once squeezed. Neither of us could finish the dishes as we were in gag reflex mode. Bathroom was also horribly filthy as well and tabes left uncleared...worst food we have had since eating at Dennys in Meridian a few years back. Since these two restaurants are so close to each other, I'm now wondering if they have the same ownership, or the same restaurant manual!!! lol Just beware and avoid this place. read more

Been coming here off and on for years, located conveniently in a strip mall right on Fairview. I think they get most of their business from delivery house there is hardly anyone ever eating in here sometimes I've been the only one during lunch. I don't have any complaints about their food, I see mixed reviews on yelp but the food is always been very good and very consistent. The restaurant leaves some to be desired for as it is very run down with food under the tables etc. They are understaffed usually with one waiter who handles the whole restaurant, it must be owner/chef in the back and that's it. It's not the best out there but consistently quite good even their take-out I've always been happy with. read more

We had a build your own combo and did 2 of them. You can choose from fried rice or chow mein and we got 1 of each. Then you get to choose 2 entrees to go with it. We got kungpow beef, egg roll, mandarin chicken, and another spicy beef dish but I don't remember the name. It was all good nothing too impressive. It is close to my house and we were hungry and I'm sure we will visit again. I do know that they do a lot of carry out and delivery orders here as well. read more

I ordered from Door Dash and two hours later I got a phone call that they gave my order to another Dasher. I never received any food, and the status on Door Dash said Dasher was waiting for food. I called up the restaurant and they refused to take accountability for it. They just said sorry, another driver took your food and we will not give you anymore. Horrible customer service. Awful. I was looking for delivery in Boise and I will NEVER eat here again. Ordered Crab Rangoon, some mushroom noodle dish, and a spicy shrimp dish. The mushroom noodles and shrimp were absolutely inedible. The shrimp smelled rancid and was undercooked, I was scared to even try it. The mushrooms were tasteless and the noodles were absolutely mushed and over cooked. I ate one bite and was disgusted. The saddest part though was that the crab rangoon - obviously from a frozen food section of a grocery store - were so bland I couldn't save them with obscene amounts of the jelly (sweet and sour sauce) it came with. I thought about calling and telling them how bad they were but didn't want to risk them trying to send me more food. Copying and pasting this review everywhere I can because somehow I missed how truly AWFUL this was. (Oh, and over an hour for delivery less than a mile away from the restaurant.) I don't normally complain about food, because I love food! But.... My boyfriend ordered me food at Quik Wok in Meridian for delivery at 5:05. All that was ordered was teriyaki chicken and crab rangoons. With tip total was 20 bucks. Website says 1hr delivery time and left a phone number to contact with any issues. 6:25 rolls around and still no food, so I call the number on the screen. I asked about my order and the guy could not locate it with name or phone number. So I give him the address and order content and he puts me on hold. A minute or so later he comes back and says he found that order and address but it has a name and phone number that isn't mine or Jay's. Then he tells me it's for cash, but I paid with card. He continues with an apology and says it's starting to cook and will be there shortly. At this point I was upset because we are close to an hour and a half and it just started to cook so I wouldn't receive it until 7 PM. I asked about cancellation and he said it take 7 business days for a refund. I asked to speak to a manger at that point... Manager answers and I explain my frustration. She apologizes and tells me they are very backed up and that's why the website says to call for delivery time after you place it. I still had the website pulled up and read to her what it says, which was nothing of the sort. It stated that its take approximately an hour. She then tells me I'm looking at the Boise website and the Meridian one says different. So I tell her I am on the Meridian website, because it says it on the page that I just read her and she continued to argue and tell me I am wrong. I decided I wasnt going to waste the time arguing over what I clearly can read and ask about my food. She said it will get to me when its ready. So after two hours of waiting and rude customer service I received my food (with no fork or napkins). The crab rangoons were pretty delicious, but the chicken was gross. I was able to eat 3 pieces, because the rest was fat. I picked it off and ate some of the rice before I discovered that most of was rock hard. Needless to say I got over the fact they were rude, and decided to wait because I was hungry and didnt want to wait 7 days for a refund. He was a Grubhub driver and says they never start your order until you get there. This is ridiculous given the fact that my food was paid for in advance. Food was greasy and not very good. My gf and I have ordered delivery a handful of times and here's my thoughts... The taste is decently good and I guess it's reasonably priced. But to cut straight to the point,the only items worth ordering are General Tsao's Chicken, Fried Rice, and Chow Mein. For example : The 16 oz "broccoli beef" we ordered consisted of literally 3 tiny strips of beef, a couple pieces of broccoli and a whole mess of carrots, celery, water chest nuts and whatever else. The 16 oz "Mongolian beef" was the same. A whole mess of frozen veggies. I'm not exaggerating. It's blatantly obvious they're cutting food cost so they skimp on the meat and serve you up 95% veggies. So if you must go here, stick to the Tsao's chicken and fried rice. read more

Food was terrible & over priced for amount of food that they give you, waitress was wearing small pants which her bottom half was showing, looked like she just woke up. When I went to pay, waitress went to the table to check if we tipped her. Then had asked me twice why we didn't tip her and was mad. I could not believe she asked me that question. What was going through my mind was. Please wear your pant size, comb your hair and fix your make up when coming to work and asking for a tip. After leaving, I called the number on the receipt. Nothing spectacular here but in Boise good Chinese is nearly if impossible to find. Specials are very aggressively priced and the food amounts will rival "Claim Jumpers" if CJ did Chinese cuisine. Food is a generous 3/5 stars but be prepared if you get the specials, I believe absolutely everything on the plate is deep fried except the two pieces of BBQ pork. Very disappointing. I don't know what happened from the last time I ate their food about 6 months ago. I ordered the Mandarin Chicken, Pork Fried Rice, and Egg Roll. The Chicken was extremely dry and so tough! For a minute I thought I was eating a gizzard part, but it was just a super tough dry small piece of chicken. The portion size of the Chicken is smaller than before. It had no flavor not hardly any sweetness to the orange sauce. Very bland! The rice was also very bland, a piece or two was uncooked, not steamed long enough and it looked like there might have been some kind of green ingredients in it but there was no flavor because they looked soggy. My Egg Roll was put in the the food container on top of the rice. So it got super soggy and over fried, almost burnt, they use to wrap it separate from the food. For what I paid, I got ripped off. WARNING: QUIK WOK IS NOT QUICK!!! I ordered food to be delivered to feed my family at 6:25PM. The food arrived at 9:15PM; the kids had already gone to bed (school tomorrow). The delivery guy copped an attitude when I told him he wasn't getting a tip, because the food was so late. I live about a half mile away from the restaurant. I called the manager. I told her I wasn't happy the food was room temperature and late and gave her every opportunity to make things right. She said the best she could do was discount my next meal 15% for the inconvenience. Report Card: Food Quality = D (may be lower if I get sick tonight) Food Value = D (fried rice shouldn't cost 8 dollars) Service = F (manager's attempt to make things right was anemic); Not even the delivery fee of 3 dollars paid in advance was refunded! In summary, once you place your order and pay for it online, including delivery fee, you are locked in and will get your food when they decide you should get your food... in this case hours later. I just ordered from here tonight. I ordered online which was very convenient and easy to use. They delivered my food in 25 minutes and the expected wait time according to the website was an hour. The food was hot and was priced reasonably. The flavors were a little bit different than I am used to from other chinese restaurants. But really where ever you go, not just chinese, the flavors will taste different at any restaurant because each restaurant makes it different. So I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about them on here because I was very happy overall and will return or order again! read more

Me and my fiance came to Boise from Spokane, WA to go to a concert and decided to rely on delivery, since we usually get amazing food in Seattle whenever we visit. Not only did it take OVER 2 HOURS to get to our hotel, When it got here, we only got through a few bites before both dropping to the floor with some strange form of food poisoning. I've eaten at some dumps in my time, but nowhere I have ever been to could even come close to how absolutely horrible their food is. I ordered the "Hong Kong Combination", One beef broccoli, and some crab rangoon. ALL of the noodles in the order were an uncomfortable combination of completely uncooked and then overcooked noodles. I honestly don't know how someone can even make noodles that bad. It must take skill The Broccoli beef was completely bland, With all of the beef tasting like some sort of mold. The crab rangoon was actually the best part, but that honestly doesn't mean anything. The wonton skin on the outside was literally rock hard and the inside made me sicker than I have ever been from food in my life. This food was a complete waste of 40 dollars and we HAD to throw it away, to escape it's poisonous quality. Absolutely terrible service. The worst I have ever had for delivery service. We called and were told it would take between an hour and an hour and 20 minutes for delivery. While it wasn't ideal, we were willing to give it a go. After an hour and 40 minutes, I called to inquire about the delay. I was promptly put on hold for ten minutes before I hung up and called back. When I called back, they let the phone ring at least twenty times before picking up (surprised there was no answering machine). They asked to put me on hold again and I told them no. I wanted to know when my food would be delivered - as this was almost two hours after my order was placed. They did put me on hold to check on my order. They came back to the phone and said that when the delivery driver got back, mine would be the very next order to go out. I explained that this was ridiculous, as it would put us at least 2 hours+ since my order was placed. The lady asked me how long I had been told that it would take. When I explained my hour - hour and 20 minute expectation, she told me they have been 2+ hours behind all night. I explained that this would've been very valuable information to have when I placed my order and she offered no empathy, but said they'd discount my order by 20 minutes when they could finally get it out. Funny. What a joke this place has become. It will be the very last time I ever order from them and would encourage all others to avoid this restaurant at all costs. Take a chance somewhere else. Even if you're disappointed, at least you'll have time to find a backup plan. A much better scenario that I had tonight.
