Never again. I'm giving the star to give credit to our friendly server that evening. I made reservations for a Saturday dinner here. Once we walked in, we waited between 8 to 10 minutes before we were able to flag down someone to give us a table. There was no staff at the reception area, not even at the bar. We were already thinking to leave and walk to the restaurant across the street but it was too cold, so we stayed. Huge mistake. The place was not busy at all, there were only a few tables with customers. For this first (and last) visit, we tried the: Scorpion roll, Las Vegas roll, Crab Rangoons, and the Spicy Ramen Noodle Bowl. By the time we received our dishes, everything was cold. We've tried calling the attention of any server/staff we could see to follow up our orders. The dishes have obviously been sitting somewhere at the counter, that's why they were already cold when they were served at our table. The crab rangoons and the ramen had good flavors, but they were cold. The rolls were just disappointing. I understand that they would probably say that they were understaffed that evening, but I am not sure how that could be justified if the restaurant wasn't even busy with customers. We tried to be understanding with our server, he was pleasant and friendly. Overall, there are so many other Japanese places everywhere. The fried crisps were also kind of stale, but this dish was better than the sushi. - Sushi (2/5): The rice was suuuper mushy and gluey. They were also a bit weird like the salmon avocado was just avocado on the inside, with 1 layer of salmon on top. Could be busy or pretty slow depending on when one goes. The better times are at happy hour so you can save. Came here for a meeting and eating. It was very nice that I didn't have to pay all of it. This was especially good for this. Hell of expensive. That was only for just an entree. Forget cocktails. The food is good but not that good though. Has mostly Asian fusion. I had the Kung Pao Tofu. This is stir fried in a wok. It's $17 for crying out loud. This has bean sprouts, carrots, chili peppers, peanuts, red peppers, scallions, and water chestnuts in a spicy brown garlic sauce. It comes with a choice of lo mein or rice. There's a lot in it but not that much of it as in the portion is pretty small. At least compared to the cost. This sadly is typical of most menu prices. Went to Wok N Fire Burr Ridge for the very first time since the pandemic with my girlfriends whom I haven't seen in 2 years. We were all very excited. But unfortunately...it was a super busy night and maybe understaffed....so we didn't get to eat anything. We were there from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and we only had a chance to order our dirty martinis and Las Vegas roll with pan seared dumplings. That's all I get to eat. 2 pieces of Las Vegas roll and 1 dumpling. I was starving so after 2 hours and still no sign of our waiter....again....I understand the short staffed issue but I will not go back again and would not recommend. With 6 dirty martinis and 1 roll of Las Vegas and 1 order of dumplings...it was $125.....and we had to go somewhere else for dinner......it was not the best experience and not friendly on our wallet. Very disappointed. Update: Owner asked me to email them which I did and never heard back from them. Therefore, I took another star off so now it is only worth 1 star. First time here. Upon entering, we were approached by one of the least warm/friendly hostesses I've come across. Either she was having a bad day or she had no business being a hostess. She spoke to us like a drill sergeant. Marsha, please check yourself. The server, Vee, was a lot nicer. She noticed I was having problems scanning the QR code to see the menu so she asked us if we preferred physical menus (the hostess did not give us a choice). Vee was friendly and attentive. The food was mediocre at best and was overpriced. My hubbie ordered Mongolian beef. It cost $15 PLUS $5 extra for the beef. For a $20 lunch entree you would think it would be spectaculatar... The Mongolian flavor was very good but the rice was extremely hard and uneditable. We asked for another bowl but it was just as bad. I ordered the pad see ew with chicken ($17). The noodles and flavor were good but the Chinese broccoli stems were undercooked and overly bitter. Tip for owners: An Asian restaurant MUST serve decent white steamed rice. Come on now... SMH. The decor was very nice (see pix). But sad to say, there was food on the floor. So points off for cleanliness too. We were quite disappointed with our visit. Where do I start? Our Calamari app was cold and rubbery, my kids chicken tenders were dry and the waiter forgot to bring me my entree until everyone else was done eating at our table, and then they got my order wrong...ugh! I let the waiter know, but I didn't want to send back at that point because I didn't want everyone to have to wait any longer since they were already finished with their meal. In addition, when I tried to use a $10 off coupon, they refused to honor it. It was an older coupon, but it didn't have any expiration on it and the name and address on the coupon clearly says it was for Wok N Fire Burr Ridge. They acknowledged it was real, but still refused to honor it. After a disaster of a dining experience, you would think they would want to let us use a little $10 off coupon, but they refused without a valid reason, other than saying the coupon was outdated, even though there was no expiration present. Given the restaurant was already empty on a Friday night (clearly a struggling business) I asked the manager if it was worth losing us as a customer over this? She refused to answer and walked away....hence this bad review. My family will NEVER dine at this horrible restaurant ever again and would strongly advise against anyone dining there as well. Their food was overpriced for the very little portion sizes they gave. I wouldn't doubt if this restaurant closes it's doors for good sometime soon as no one goes there anyway...Good riddance to a poorly run restaurant! read more

Worst service ever! Placed an online order and when I went in to pick it up, I was told the sushi chef hadn't come in and did I want to wait to see if he shows up. Really!! My friend and I had an excellent experience here! The servers were friendly, courteous, and accommodating. The restaurant was beautifully lit and included some nice decor. The food and drinks were also excellent, and the turnaround time was quick. Plentiful options for sushi or stir fry. We went with the stir fry! I ordered the sweet and spicy steak and a dirty martini. The steak itself was delicious, well seasoned, and crispy. My friend enjoyed her kung pao steak and apple martini. One specific server, a gentleman, was very kind, funny, and charismatic. He told us jokes periodically throughout the evening. I can't wait for our next dinner here! It was truly a great night out! Experience was fantastic. In town for business and wanted a local establishment. Wok n Fire was great choice. Both the entree and appetizer were exceptional. Service was timely and not rushed. The GM stopped and we talked about the restaurants for a while. Anytime you are in the Burr Ridge area of Chicago stop by and enjoy a great time. To make things worse, they came delivered to me with the noodles already in the broth, therefore, mushy. Yuck! And did I mention SALT? Also, please notice the containers are not only not filled all the way up, but, one has quite a bit less than the others. The other locations are located in St.Charles, South Barrington, and Wheaton. Personally I have only been to the Burr Ridge, Wok 'N Fire. This location is gorgeous inside and out and has plenty of FREE parking outside. When you first walk in to Wok 'N Fire you will notice the gorgeous decor. This is a great place for a romantic date or special event. The hostess and servers are always pleasant and extremely helpful. If you have any questions or concerns they will help you to the best of their ability. I have had several different dishes here including dessert and you can taste the quality. The sushi isn't the absolute best I've ever had but if your craving sushi and your nearby, why not!? They have a full bar for your drinking pleasure, if you've never had plum wine before I suggest you try it, It's sweet and delicious. The mochi ice cream is pretty good, you must try the chocolate, if you have a craving for something sweet. Overall this is a beautiful restaurant with an even more amazing decor and free parking.
