Ok, we just stepped out of this restaurant & it's lingering between a 2.5 and 3 stars. 3 just because the waitresses were nice. Other than that, it wasn't really anything that was just "so good". We did the acye & tried multiple different things. Nothing stood out when it comes to flavor. The food itself was fresh so that's good. But there was barely any sauce on the rolls. Then all rolls & apps had the same sauce -.- .. the menu didn't include dessert which is our first time seeing that for an ayce. Pretty disappointing. It's just, for an ayce, the menu may have had several different options but the variety of flavor and excitement for something different was missing. Then no dessert too! The downsides are expect to wait a while for your order(s), as this makes it harder to keep ordering many rounds. Also, you cannot order sashimi, only nigiri, which comes with a large amount of rice, and whatever you don't eat you have to pay for (basically to discourage you from ordering 50 pieces of salmon). The server was fine at the beginning, but after ordering a few items, she suddenly told us we had only five minutes left to place a final order, even though there was still an hour left before the posted closing time (as listed online). We ordered one more roll, and when it arrived, it was missing the sauce clearly listed on the menu. When we pointed it out, she said it was already wrapped and couldn't be fixed. If the restaurant doesn't want to serve customers properly until the posted closing time, then the hours shouldn't be advertised that way. Very disappointing experience. Do better. read more

I love sushi and I eat sushi from grocery stores all the way to Michelin level. - Miso soup - 5/5 hard to mess up - Japanese fried chicken - 2/5 it was okay. Didn't really taste like Japanese fried chicken that I had at countless places. - calamari tempura - 1/5 tasteless without the sauce - rolls - 1/5 - honestly I forgot what I ordered. They weren't memorable and the rice tasted very off. It didn't taste like typical sushi rice. I would not recommend anyone order the sushi because it is that abysmal. -"sushi" section - 5/5 this is the only saving grace and this is why I gave them 3 stars instead of 1. I ordered the fresh salmon, seabass, tilapia, shrimp, fresh water eel, sweet egg, craw fish salad, masago. Next time, if I come here I'll only order from this section and the appetizers. From the receipt we got the servers name is "Elyse" she never came and introduced herself but she had a terrible attitude. At one point, she was slamming plates at our table. They are a pretty strict on what you don't finish you must pay extra for. This is our first and probably our last time at this Oishi Sushi in Willowbrook. Even though everything was fine it was just not that good. It is probably a 3.5 review but not quite a 4 star. Slices of fish was small and yet the rice was huge and very sour. Like they over indulged the rice in rice vinegar so all I tasted was sour rice with fish. Not really great. For the amount of money I paid which was $19.99 for lunch for ACYE, I can probably go somewhere else. It was just an okay experience for me. Service was ok because they didn't bring some of sushi we ordered and gave us something else that we didn't order. Placed a takeout order for sushi on my lunch break. Oishi is a smaller, typically decorated sushi place that's tucked on the side of a busy shopping center and traffic can get backed up near the stop lights, if you go around to the far side of the lot (west on 63rd), it's much easier to get in and out. I ordered 3 different rolls: Buffalo chicken, shrimp tempura crunch and tempura sweet potato. The sweet potato pieces were so thin, I felt like I was just eating tempura batter which was a little disappointing but the other two rolls were pretty good. Portions were big, especially for the price. There aren't a ton of sushi restaurants near my office so I'll be back but would likely change up my order a bit and try some other options. When my kids and I are hangry, then it means that we do not have any patience at all to wait for a table at a restaurant. We were originally going to try another place for dinner but the wait time for a table was between 30-45 minutes, especially because they do not take reservations. Not going to happen. I called Oishi Sushi to ask if there's a long wait and it is not too far from where we were, so off to Oishi Sushi we went. Once we got in, we waited for about 8 minutes for a table because the place was packed and there were a couple of people ahead of us. The host was very friendly and kept coming back to assure us that our table will be ready soon. Once we were seated, my kids and I wanted the $21.95 AYCE dinner option and we quickly put our orders in. Like what i've said, we were hangry. We put in the appetizers, miso soup, and 3 rolls for each one of us. I like that they indicated how many pieces of rolls are going to be in each order and it was clearly stated on the menu that there is no sharing and no left overs. Otherwise, they will charge extra for each roll that's left on the plate. The rolls came out in very reasonable wait times. We all liked the rolls that we ordered and we all had second rounds of different rolls, after finishing the first set. Again, hangry. Our server was very friendly and efficient. Our glasses were always filled with water, empty/dirty dishes were quickly taken away, and she made sure that our orders were taken care of. The place was busy, simple and clean. My only comment would be the size of each piece of roll, they were much bigger than the regular rolls. Some pieces, especially the end pieces of the whole roll, looked like they were 2 pieces stuck together. The rice to protein ratio was great but it was quite challenging to pick up each roll using chopsticks. My daughter gave up and just used her hand to eat the rolls;). For the rolls that have shrimp tempura inside them, the shrimp gets "lost" because of how big each roll is. Overall, this place was worth trying and we will definitely go back if we are in the area again. The service was awesome, the food was delicious and the price was very reasonable for what they offer. I wish I could give a zero star... this is the place to go if you want AYCE sushi RICE buffet! 3 of us came here for AYCE lunch for $24.99/person on Sunday. We only ordered one plate + 8 more sushi on the side due to the amount of rice they gave us is insane. The rice portion in each piece of sushi is actually very big and over an inch, no joke. Oishi Sushi has a decent AYCE sushi variety. I feel like their sushi and rolls aren't excessive with their rice, and the fish and seafood is fresh. I've pretty much tried every roll they have, minus the ones that have cream cheese and/or spicy tuna, which I'm not a fan of either, and can't say I had a roll I did not like. LIMITLESS You can gorge yourself on high-grade nigiri at this excellent AYCE sushi spot. In the mood for a double date, I invited Dan M and his fiancé Liz G to meet me and the lovely Nichole C here for dinner the other night (1/7/18). I'd driven past Oishi plenty of times before, but I failed to realize that it was a "pay one price" establishment, a.k.a. all-you-can-eat sushi. Time to thrown down the gauntlet! We got seated right around 7pm on a Sunday evening and our server was quick to take our order. He took great care of us throughout the meal and made no nevermind that I was the designated alcoholic of the group: Liz G: "I'll have a water." Dan M: "I'll have a hot tea." Nichole C: "I'll have a water." Eric S: "I'll have a large hot sake and bottle of Sapporo." *table erupts in laughter* We filled out our AYCE cards, marking the various rolls of maki and sashimi accordingly. I liked that there was a section for appetizers; I chose a miso soup and house salad to start, along with orders of gyoza, edamame, and chicken yakitori (skewers). They were all tremendously tasty. More sake, more laughs -- lots, actually -- and eventually the sushi emerged. Everyone got something different, but I'll quickly summarize: NC got a spicy salmon roll (6pc), mango-coconut specialty maki (8pc, very tasty), boston maki (5pc), as well as salmon sashimi. LG got a chicken teriyaki maki (5pc, kinda odd, chicken doesn't belong in sushi!) and DM got some form of california roll (6pc). As for me, I chose the ever-reliable rainbow maki (8pc), summer maki (6pc, with jalapeño, cilantro, tuna and avocado), and firecracker maki (5pc, shrimp and cream cheese, deep-fried with eel sauce). Everything was wonderful. It was at that point round #2 came out......and my stomach had run out of room. Though our server claims we ordered 2 of the red dragon maki (shrimp tempura with cucumber, topped with fatty tuna), no one recalls that. Consequently, we had to push ourselves to finish and lemme tell ya folks, it was a challenge. You're charged for every piece you don't eat, in an effort to reduce (or altogether avoid) waste, so be warned if your eyes typically write checks that your tummy can't cash. Most AYCE sushi places operate like this, so exercise judgment when placing your order. Bread = 5 Circuses = 4.5 All things considered, the house lost money on me (probs ate $40 worth of sushi & appetizers), which is fine by me. Everyone's maki was plated nicely and the service was outstanding. I doubt it was intentional, but neither the hot tea nor the beer showed up on the final tab. That was a sweet bonus. * TL;DR * Fantastic stuff for a crazy reasonable $21 price. You pay that up front, then you devour as much sushi as humanly possible until you pass out in your chair (like me) or die like a goldfish.......eating until your abdomen explodes. I ordered takeout from here and wasn't sure what to expect since it was an AYCE spot. We were pleasantly surprised since the takeout was actually decent. I definitely over ordered for 4 people. I ordered 11 rolls, I originally wanted to get just 8 but someone made me second-guess myself), 2 orders of mixed tempura, shumai and gyoza. We probably could have cut out at least 2 rolls. My family prefers more traditional rolls and definitely nothing completely deep fried or with cream cheese if you catch my drift. I didn't expect their maki with just one type of fish to be as big as they were. I was expecting tight small rolls. I also didn't think they overpacked the rolls with rice. The spicy tuna mixture was good and I didn't like their futo maki. I also didn't really like their yellowtail, seemed a bit off or old. Tempura batter was ok and a bit too heavy at times, however, they use a different more crumbly batter for the shrimp. I prefer the lighter batter that they used on the veggies.
