The employees are really nice but I'm disappointed in the quality and quantity of the food. Ordered a veg roll and normally those are anywhere from 3.50 to 5.50 at a sushi place but theirs was 8.50 so I thought it would be pretty big, and enough for a full meal or I'd have ordered more. When it came to me it was made with low quality produce and pretty small :( also it was mostly lettuce??? This place had a sleek modern feel to it. I wasn't very pleased with the food or the service though. The waiter didn't ask us if we needed anything else. He was no where to be found during our meal. The soft shell crab was disgusting. It tasted like it was dead before it even had a chance. I got sick from that. The shrimp tempura roll was decent. They had this spicy tuna tornado dip, it wasn't that spicy and they served it with Doritos instead of the traditional fried wonton wrapper. It was OK probably the best thing I ate. Maybe the Chinese food here is better than the sushi. But I don't think I'll be coming back very soon. read more

Awesome atmosphere, great food, friendly staff.... My husband and I enjoyed a nice dinner here Friday night. When ordering an appetizer of Edamame, the server asked, "garlic or regular?" What? Garlic?! Yes, please. It.Was.Delicious! Seems like they sautéed the edamame with fresh garlic. So yum!! If you are a garlic lover, I would highly recommend this option. We both had the Pad Thai as our main entree, and enjoyed it very much (comes with shrimp and chicken). It was a little different from other Pad Thai dishes, and I can't really put my finger on what was different, but it worked! Beverage was a glass of their Sangria and I would go back just for this! It didn't have that overly sweet taste that some sangrias can have, nor did it have an unpleasant aftertaste that some red sangrias can have too (from cheap wine, maybe?). If I had one negative comment about this place, it is that it is really loud (and we weren't there in a crazy busy time). Now I get why most couples were siting on the same side of their booths. My family and I have always enjoyed Wokano. Today we stopped by for lunch and the food was what we expected. I am giving the restaurant a low review because on this visit we noticed some smokey vapor coming from the a/c vents. Luckily, we were just waiting for our check as the haze started to get more intense. I had my family wait outside while I paid. My wife ended up experiencing a sore throat and a headache. After calling to find out what was the cause, I spoke to the manager that was on duty. He informed me that the A/C units filter needed to be changed and what we were seeing was dust. I let him know the "dust" was heavy resembling smoke and he told me, "ya, I was there trying to do something about it." He never apologized for my wife's experience he just tried to make it sound like it wasn't a big deal, just dust. If dust inside a restaurant is that heavy the customers can see it and then framed acceptable by management there is a problem. The least management could do is apologize to those customers - especially if they call concerned and expressed that someone in their family wasn't feeling well due to what they have been exposed to in that restaurant. read more

I ate here on a Friday during lunch hours. The restaurant is very classy and appealing. It was a graduation party of about 15. The service was slow but the waitress serving us was very nice and did the best she could (she was waiting other tables as well). I ordered the lunch special, Mongolian beef. I can honestly say I wasn't very thrilled with it. There wasn't that much flavor in it and I just ended up feeding it to my dog. I loved the spin they put on the traditional orange chicken. The sauce was delicious. The salad they have with the lunch special was very fresh and tasty. Overall, I will come back for the lunch special because it was an excellent price. So let's be honest...I can barely pronounce the name of this restaurant, but who cares - this place is legit. From the moment that I pulled into this Westfield mall parking lot, the building immediately grabbed my attention. The Wokcano sign illuminated the entire front of the building while the countless bonfire propane patio heaters created a wall like comfort in the event you chose to sit outside. (if you didn't get the memo genius, I graced this place with my presence in the evening - LOL) Now, where was I...oh yes, I was actually judging the book by it's cover...something my mother always told me "NOT" to do, but how could I not?! The ambience portrayed before I had even walked through the doors, was magical. As I walked up after spending about 10 minutes trying to locate parking, I realized that the better option would have been to utilize the valet conveniently located out front. At any rate, once I walked into this asian cuisine lounge, I was greeted with a smile by the hostess. I was then offered a short wait for a table or to immediately sit at the bar as it was self seating. I was impressed with the initial interaction as that traditionally will set the precedence for the duration of the night. When passing the hostess station, to the left was a sleek glass fire pit display which really set the mood for what seemed to be a more intimate environment. So yes, if you are trying to impress the ladies and not spend a ton of money, this is definitely a spot for that - lol. Well needless to say, Wokcano nailed it in this category as well, so bravo to you sushi master chef...someone needs to give you a pat on the back, or perhaps a raise? I also learned through my experience that the Happy Hour deals were impressive and that they have something called Monday Madness, which is Happy Hour the entire day....say whaaaaaa?! Overall the food is pretty good. Their oysters are tiny for the price. Half dozen oyster appetizers are $18, so we ordered a dozen oysters. Served with a Ponzu sauce the oysters were really good, but again we were surprised how small they were, so be aware if ordering them or ask the server to tell you the size so you can be sure its what you want. Disclaimer: I visited this stylish restaurant when they had just opened a couple weeks before and were deep in the weeds on a Saturday night. Dropped glass was shattering all around me as the harried waitstaff tried to navigate the huge space. One jagged chunk of drink cup even landed with a splash in the pretty, rose-petal strewn fountain. The attractive, black-clad staff had that glassy, harried look of people who know they are totally screwed. They tried their best. They appeared and reappeared at random intervals, dropping off some food items while leaving other diners at our table with no food for tens of minutes at a time. Some food arrived lukewarm, while hot sake was almost boiling. My food wasn't great. It wasn't even good. I got a big greasy plate of vegetable chow fun. It was the kind of food that wishes it was PF Changs, and I'm not a big PF Changs fan. It was, however, served in massive portions big enough for sharing - but it arrived plated separately and there were no utensils with which to share it. My tablemates did really like the tuna truffle pizza, which is tiny - about the size of a pita bread - but apparently tasty. Spicy garlic eggplant was cut in fat, slippery sticks that would challenge any gringo who is less than an Olympic-class expert with chopsticks. It also had the smell of old oil. It went largely uneaten because by then we had been beaten down by the service and didn't want to wait another half hour for a fork and knife. It is pretty inside and out - dark wood and stone with a vaguely Asian feel. It is very large and the noise level reaches somewhere between an Insane Clown Posse concert and a full-throttle jet engine. They do have some awesome fire features outside - these pretty caged flames about 3 feet high. As an added bonus there seemed to be an over-abundance of 40-ish women with extremely low-cut blouses on, so if you're a lonely gentleman of a certain age, this might be your spot. Other great occasions to go to Wokcano might be on a date where the you want to impress someone with the interior design but not the food, or when you don't want to have to talk to the people you are with. read more

Horrible service, the front desk girl took forever just to seat us when the place was empty, we waited over a half hour for our food and can't imagine how long we would have to wait if the place was packed. My husband and I wanted to try it out because we saw some good reviews but we were very disappointed by the food, service and how expensive they were for cold sushi rolls and unseasoned food. The service was awful! The server took long, they gave us our drinks when the appetizers where ready which meant 25 mins, I ordered another drink and it took 43 mins. It took us 2 hours to get our food. We asked for the bill and they gave us that within 2 mins and then charged us incorrectly, the waiter nor manager apologized after I complained. So our experience was quite a memorable one. Our waiter and basically the entire staff are very friendly. The food was delicious. We had the sushi boat for two and everything came well prepared and fresh. Obviously no room for desert but the choices are very hard to say no to. As far as the memorable part well the following morning I realize that I am missing my wallet. And in trying to retrace my steps, the last place I could only think of was Wokano. Well in waiting for the restaurant to open, I call to find that the manager Sean is already there and he begins to listen to my dilemma. Well turns out nothing was turned in to him nor was there any sign of it. Sean then takes my name and number down and let's me know that he will contact me if it magically turns up. I begin to loose all hope in ever finding my wallet now. Later in the day I get a call from the sean letting me know that they have found my wallet in the crevice of the booth. I really appreciated this since I had a flight to catch within the next few days. I wrote this review just to let people know that the customer service at wokano is superb and it feels great to have been helped out like that since I feel like most restaurants could careless if you misplace something of value at there establishment. Food was just OK but very expensive for what you pay for. Ordered the Chinese Chicken salad which was heavy on the lettuce but light on the chicken. The Lemon Chicken was bland and over cooked. As for the service , it was horrible. Randie our server had to be reminded several times to bring us our order of sashimi. His excuse was " I am working the other side of the restaurant also". When I complained to the manager Sean, he had attitude and could care less about my issue with service. Considering I spent over $160 for dinner for my family of four and was pretty much blown off, I think that I will not return any time soon. Stood in line for the free food as I did for Kabuki and the food was ok. The look and feel of the place is, as previously stated, another dark Asian fusion restaurant. This place can be described as a stepchild of Kabuki & Pei Wei if they were to adopt, basically average Chinese food mixed in with average Japanese food. Didn't get distracted by the bell and whistle of grand opening, it is what it is. HOW DO YOU OPEN A RESTAURANT WITHOUT YOUR LIQUOR LICENSE?! you're just asking to lose business. we sat down and ordered a few appetizers to start off with: oysters on the half shell clams in a broth monkey brain (tempura avocado stuffed with spicy tuna and imitation crab meat) caterpillar roll i've never seen oysters on a half shell so small! little itty bitty baby oysters. the clams were tiny as well, but the broth was good. the clams were undercooked and i bit into one with sand. very unpleasant. don't get me started on the monkey brain. it sounds good on paper, but it's not tasty and it's OVERPRICED! for $13 i expected a whole avocado, but nooooooooooooo....it was probably a quarter of an avocado! total rip-off!!!!!! the caterpillar was less than mediocre. i've had better. we didn't want to stay for the rest of the meal. we got our check and it came out to be $70!!! we had water to drink and the 4 appetizers. total waste of money. read more

I love the red dragon with yellowtail on top instead. Julie our server for the evening was pleasant and had some amazing suggestions on sushi. If you get a chance try the sake in the black bottle its awesome, forgot the name of it so ask Julie or Mike. One of the only cool spots to drink after-hours, sure is better than some of the selections here like Lazy Dog and Fridays. Ambiance is dark with lounge music - something Valencia is lacking. If you go to the bar Mike is an excellent mixologist with an extensive knowledge on whisky's and vodka's. Overall good experience! read more

Spicy tuna and crispy rice was really good as well (not nearly as much rice as most places). I did a delivery order and they ripped me off. Ordered a salad which came soggy and appetizer. For some reason had a coke delivered which I did not order. Gave it back to the guy and called the restaurant to complain and never got credit for it. Bunch of very young people working there and the manager was rude. She told me to call cooperate office to get my refund. To this day never got credit for it and the soggy salad I threw it away. All the condiments should of be separate to prevent this. I'm not a sushi eater, so I've only eaten the non-sushi fare here; however, the food is pretty tasty. My favorite dish is the Garlic Noodles with Grilled Shrimp. When I asked him if they had any bread or crackers or ANYTHING for that matter for my daughter to munch on he said in a smart-A$$ way, "this isn't an Italian restaurant". Sorry jerk-off.
