Visited here last night with friends and ordered the grilled seafood. Even though the wait to be seated was longer than expected for a Wednesday night, the experience turned out wonderful. Julie at the front was welcoming and very accommodating. Our waitress was amazing as well she was handling the floor on her own and still managed to provide excellent service to everyone with such a positive attitude. I have always enjoyed Kabuki's food and have ordered from this location many times, which is why this experience was so disappointing. Recently, my family and I took my parents there for lunch with our two young children (ages 1 1/2 and 3 1/2). My younger toddler was very quiet, and my older son had a few moments where he got a little excited and spoke loudly, as many toddlers do. It was not constant, he never left his seat, wasn't running around the restaurant, and wasn't doing anything out of hand. As his mom, I was attentive the entire time and reminded him to use his inside voice whenever he got a little loud. The restaurant wasn't even busy, and we were seated near the entrance, away from most of the dining room. Despite that, an older Asian waitress with short hair (who wasn't even our server) came over and told me that "our customers are complaining." I immediately apologized and explained that we were already finishing our meal and that I was actively reminding my son to keep it down. She then said, "It's usually older people that complain." That interaction completely changed the atmosphere of what was supposed to be a nice lunch with my parents. I honestly left feeling embarrassed and judged. I don't even believe anyone had actually complained, it felt more like she simply didn't want children there. I completely understand that restaurants should remain comfortable for everyone, and I would never allow my children to run around, disturb other guests, or make excessive noise. I'm the type of parent who cleans up after my kids and is always mindful of those around us. But toddlers are still toddlers, and a few brief moments of excitement shouldn't make a family feel unwelcome in what is supposed to be a family-friendly restaurant. I want to be clear that our actual server was kind, and as always, the food was great. My complaint is solely about the older waitress with the short hair. Her approach was unnecessary, insensitive, and completely ruined our dining experience. Because of this interaction, I won't be returning to this location. I hope management addresses how families with young children are treated, because no parent who is actively supervising their child should be made to feel unwelcome for normal toddler behavior. read more

Not happy with the service at all. I called in and placed an order for four people and specifically asked for extra ginger. When I got home, there was only one tiny pack included. I called back thinking it was a mistake, only to be told that it's "one ginger per order." Interesting policy for an order feeding four people. The funny part is, I would have happily paid extra if someone had simply mentioned there was a limit. Great food, but apparently ginger is being treated like a rare luxury item these days. read more

Today I had the absolute worse experience. Sofie/Sofia was our server upon coming to our table she was rude and barely wanted to great us! After taking our order and SLAMMING down our drinks she never returned to drop our food, give refills or merely check if we needed anything. If it wasn't for the runner Pablo, we probably would've never ate because she left our food sitting out and never gave it to us. We had to go as far as going to the hostess stand to ask for our check! She's a terrible server that needs customer service training! Sad to say after a long time of not coming here, it seems like the reviews saying quality and service have suffered are indeed correct unfortunately. We were sat pretty quickly by a very unenthused hostess, but then nothing- for a good 10-15 minutes. Once we saw our waiter Eric, we ordered drinks and rolls right away and then again, nothing. He kept randomly passing by but ignoring us. No updates. Sometimes we wouldn't see him for a while. Eventually the gyoza but still no eel sauce or drinks. Another 5-6 minutes goes by and a man (not our server) randomly literally keeps fast walking past our table dropping ginger and wasabi, like quickly. Then our drinks, but then has to get straws. Then 10 minutes go by and our server brings out my partners roll. A few more minutes. He apologizes for the delay, but yet disappears again. Then finally eel sauce. Then we can eat. By this time my gyoza is cold, the drink is watered down, and we are like "what is going on??" there was literally 4 tables. 9 people in the section. I was just astounded. We wanted to ordered more for happy hour but at this rate it would've been over by the time we got the food. I did order the soy garlic chimking wings to-go and by the time he brought that and our check, those were also cold. The ordeal to get the bag and boxes...don't even get me started!! I've never seen this place struggle this bad. And as you see in my previous reviews, I had nothing but good things to say and we ordered a lot more then! The rolls sat up on the sushi counter for QUITE a minute before being taken. I don't know if Eric was having an off day or what but it wasn't as busy as I've seen it. I feel like this place has gotten cheaper and cheaper with the quality of service and food. The service has been so bad and slow that we decided to get an order to go recently. When I picked up the order I opened the box and my rolls looked so small. I ordered an Albacore Crunch Roll along with a Sun-kissed Roll. When I asked the gal at the front for more "crunch" she had to go to the sushi bar to get it and it took forever. When the other hostess came by me she asked "did you get your crunch yet?" I said "not yet" she replied to me "did you pay for it?" I said "nope" and she said "well they are yelling to the hostess u need to pay extra for it." I said "nope" and as soon as the girl came to give to me I grabbed it and walked away. As you can see in my pic they hardly gave me any crunch. I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Kabuki Japanese Restaurant. Overall, it was horrible. I placed my order through Grubhub, and when it was delivered, it was missing items. I understand that delivery issues can sometimes be the driver's fault and not necessarily the restaurant's. However, what happened next is what truly upset me. I called the restaurant to speak with the manager, hoping to resolve the situation. I was hung up on twice. When I finally was able to speak with someone, I was told that it was not their issue and essentially "too bad" that my order was incomplete. The manager was rude, dismissive, and made no attempt to listen or offer any assistance. My goal was not to get anything for free. I simply wanted to find a way to pay for the missing portion of my order, my son's dinner, and pick it up myself. Instead, I was treated with zero hospitality and zero care. While I am working with Grubhub regarding the delivery issue, my biggest concern is the way I was treated by what was once a reputable local restaurant that I have supported. I am incredibly saddened by the manager's response and lack of professionalism. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will never visit or order from this establishment again. read more

We have only been here for take out. I will say the food is nicely packaged and looks as good as the online pictures. It was easy to place an order over the phone. The shopping center has many restaurants and can get busy, however it has a large parking lot and some designated take out parking spaces. We ordered the Lava Roll which is very yummy. The spicy tuna is delicious and the tempura jalapeños on top are spicy. The mixed tempura is on par. We tried the golden fried tiger shrimp. There were 3 large butterflied shrimp with panko breading and fried very very crispy. The fried gyoza dumplings were tasty. The Cilantro Albacore Roll was very fresh and yummy. We also tried the Kabuki Roll which was fresh, however we decided the smelt and salmon eggs are too fishy for us. The food is pricey but in line with the times. The restaurant always looks busy. I gave it five stars as the quality and service do match the higher end Japanese restaurant experience. read more

Lunch before the crowds started showing up. Our second time here; it had been over six years since our last visit. I had come with a desire to sample a few rolls I'd never tried, especially the Philadelphia. But after Jackie saw the Family Table on the menu; teriyaki chicken, beef, bbq beef ribs, gyoza, California roll, tempura (we requested all veggie), and veggies. It was a go for this huge shareable platter. But I still put in an order for the Philadelphia roll as well. A salad and miso soup were also included. Our server Irene, sort of got off to a slow start, but eventually stepped up her game. Like the salad only having one plate and one fork included with the Family Table order, our miso soups came with separate bowls and spoons so why not the salad? And though we specifically requested all veggies tempura, our plate still arrived with large pieces of shrimp which we don't eat. But Irene did eventually bring another plate of veggie tempura as she had promised. Everything was good, though I found the Philadelphia roll a bit disappointing for a first time try. I also had a Sprite to go with my meal. We requested brown rice which I thought was a bit dry, I probably would request steamed rice in the future. Plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. First time at this location since I like Kabuki, I wanted to try since I was really hungry and was in the area. I ordered the spicy chicken ramen that came with a side of salad. It was really good and tasty for sure! Just right and the right amount of spice. The chicken in the soup was very tender and delicious! I ate the entire soup which is rare for me. The service was decent, hostess was really nice and explained the happy hour menus and the times they have it. They even said they have a reverse happy hour that starts at 8pm forget the ending time. The ambiance is perfect I like how spacious it is, and the decor. It is definitely bigger and decorated better than the other kabuki's I've been to. It has a lot of seating as well.
