Wound up at this restaurant because a nearby restaurant we really wanted to go to had people waiting for tables. In contrast, this restaurant had only three tables occupied when we entered (which should've been a sign to leave). We'd been here once before and were unimpressed but it wasn't bad. I don't think this restaurant will be around for too much longer if I'm reading the signs right. Two of us ordered General Tso's stirfry with veggies. Their fountain machine had 6 flavor slots and 5 out of 6 were out of order. General Tso's chicken comes fried. It tasted like American fried chicken batter, not chinese. Very heavy batter and dried out chicken. You are given a choice of 5 veggies. I requested double mushrooms and I got like 5 small pieces. Two bite sized pieces of broccoli. Lots of onion (good, cheap filler I'm guessing). The veggies were mostly overcooked for Chinese. After looking at earlier photos of the food, they've very definitely cut back on portion size, so I think they were just being skimpy on veggies. There was almost too much chicken and the pieces were 2-3 bites in size, so I think they were too big for stirfry. My fried rice had uncooked/raw pieces mixed in with it. Almost felt like I was going to chip my tooth on it at one point. And the carrots and peas in the rice seemed like thawed frozen veggies. There was almost no "sauce" (and yet it was really oily). There was A LOT of oil left in the bottom of our bowls. Chinese food just does not need that amount of oil. I kind of feel gross after eating it. read more

They don't take their job seriously. Full of kids messing around. Called in a Togo order and they told me 5mins ended up waiting 15mins or so while they mess around playing paper basketball and slamming the door to the kitchen open. The most unprofessional place I've ever been to Update after two years of not coming back until today. The floors are updated not sticky no more. Workers are quick. And food is much better now. For a place where you order at the counter, get a number and take a seat; this is as good as it gets. The amount of protein was generous. Both the noodles and rice were generated based. The vegetables were fresh, even though they were out of mushrooms ordered the broccoli cabbage and green beans, all cooked perfectly. The curry sauce is tasty, not too spicy. This place was very good. For $7.25 you get a custom ordered stir fry bowl. Mine has steak, broccoli, zucchini, celery, charred pepper, and mushrooms with brown rice on the bottom. I chose the wok's sauce. The amount is just right for me. Brown rice is cooked perfectly. Vegetables are very fresh. Only wish it wasn't quite as salty as it is. Where to start...I walked through the door and immediately noticed that the floor was sticky. As I had visited Wok's Up merely two weeks after it opened, I thought it was strange that the floor should feel nasty under my feet, but I ignored that warning sign. I was starving and desperate and didn't want to spend a lot of money. I greeted the cashier and was very underwhelmed with the lack of hospitality. He didn't go over the menu, couldn't/wouldn't offer any suggestions, didn't engage in any way. Nevertheless, hunger overcame common sense and I ordered the "build your own." They have three options: white rice, fried rice, and salad. However, they were out of the salad (and it was before the rush hour!), so I got fried rice, teriyaki chicken, onions, broccoli, and cabbage. Sounds good right??? Oh no! The chicken was hard, the onions undercooked, it only had four measly pieces of broccoli, and I'm not even sure they put cabbage in there. Did I mention they charge for the yum yum sauce (and you can't stomach the food without it)? In short it was just plain gross. The mind reels that there could be more, but I have to mention the wait time. You know the only reason I stayed was because I was staving. It took 10-12 minutes for them to get the food to us; it's not an unreasonable amount of time, but the restaurant seems geared toward fast food. Again, this is all before the Grand Opening that was the next week and just two weeks after it opened. Teriyaki 101 is across the street in the Lowe's parking lot and infinitely better. They're clean, friendly, you get your food quickly, the chicken is soft enough to eat, it's healthier, and believe it or not - they're cheaper. Skip Wok's Up and give Teriyaki 101 your business next time you're craving a quick Japanese fling. read more

I would be willing to bet that the only effort that went into making the chicken was dumping them from their frozen bag into the fryer then tossing them in a splash of OJ... Mediocre food and totally inept service. Went for lunch with 2 friends, both of whom got their food before I did, and before our appetizer order showed up. When we asked about the appetizer they said it was in the works. A few minutes later I asked about my order (general Tso's chicken) and was told "it's taking longer, we're waiting on the fried chicken". They came back a few minutes later asking if I would accept grilled chicken instead of fried. At that point I was ready to accept anything. While I was waiting I realized two other tables were asking what happened to their orders, so it wasn't an isolated case. I'd advise against eating here for several reasons. You definitely shouldn't go in expecting authentic Asian. You can customize stir fry bowls which is nice because I like having veggie-heavy meals but they really skimped on the veggies. The meat and sauces were pretty flavorless. It wasn't even worth finishing the bowl, and when I got up to throw it away, I felt so nauseated that I had to make a quick stop at the bathroom to puke it all up. First impression...not impressive. The wok ventilation needs improvement, the place was smoke y and left us smelling like our dinner when we left. For a brand new place it looked surprising old and dingy. The floors were sticky and grimy and the come machine was already broke. Let's get to the food. Ordering is apparently difficult for some since the couple in front of us took several minutes. The process of ordering could definitely be simplified. The food is mostly rice but it's pretty decent. Maybe it was an off night, but this was really disappointing. Ordered a chicken and vegetable egg roll, which came out quickly but were frozen through. I ordered an Asian BBQ entree with steak over soba, and the sauce was slimy and grainy. My partner ordered tofu curry over fried rice, and it was so salty that it was inedible. It's a shame - the tofu was well-cooked, but the seasoning was just not something you could get past. I'm a total slob who will generally eat anything, but I threw away half my food after giving it a shot. It's affordable, though, and in theory a great spot. If they're still open in six months, I'll happily try again. Hopefully they'll have the kinks worked out. read more

Awful. It does smell of burnt grease. The steak and chicken were pre cooked and over cooked. The broccoli was sliced thin and sparingly served. He chicken and steak were tiny morsels as well. I receive hot charred chili peppers instead of bell peppers. The rice was cold the restaurant was 80 degrees inside. I ordered general tsao chicken and the cashier asked me what kind or protein I wanted. My sister ordered Mongolian beef and was asked what kind of protein she wanted. Used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant in town. Would come here multiple times a month. Today I came in I noticed they a hiring sign and the staff are all new, I've never seen these people before. The manager is still the same though. Food took twice as long to come out and it was super greasy. I order the same thing each time I come in and I barely touched my food. Under "new management" and it hasn't been in place for long. On a Saturday at noon-thirty the place is dead. I ordered a General Tsao Chicken, and the bride ordered tofu dish with veggies. When my dish was delivered, I was overpowered by the smell of vinegar. The bride's dish was woefully short of veggies. No broccoli or carrots, but lots of water chestnuts.
