    Mango sticky rice
    Lydia C.

I went here on my first date with my current girlfriend! This place was very gluten free and vegetarian friendly in my opinion :) I tried the NA wine and she had a mocktail, so also very sober-friendly (thought the cocktails look sooo good) We shared the green beans, Brussels sprouts and japchae- sooooo good We had a reservation, which I'd reccomend :) [[HIGHLIGHT]]it was a really nice date spot because you'd feel comfortable dressing up or dressing down - we sat inside but they had outside seating as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The best part was the mango sticky rice - sooooo good It was really such a special date, I'm so glad she picked Ruby Chow's - I've been wanting to go foreverrrrr Would go again for sure!

I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed this place for dinner! We made a dinner reservation for two seats at the bar. I actually got a text about 30 mins before our reservation that our table is ready, which worked out perfectly because we were just waiting around anyway. We were seated right away upon checking in. Our server/bartender greeted us right away and informed us of they still have happy hour until 7 pm. We grabbed a few items from their happy hour menu - bang bang shrimp (only 3 pieces for $8 but they were nice big pieces) and purple sweet potato fries (my favorite of the night. Battered with tempura, covered with salty and was so good)! We ordered additional items - calamari (it was nicely cooked and soft), katsu bun (my hubby's favorite as the bun was soft and the pork was thinly pounded and crispy from the breading, pork kimchi fried rice (I opted for no egg. Had tons of pork pieces but really no kimchi flavor and was definitely on the sweeter side) and green beans (nicely cooked with bits of char with a sweet sauce). Their must-get drink though is the Thai tea martini! And for dessert we ordered additional items mango sticky rice. The rice could have been cooked a little longer but loved the mango sorbet and coconut cream it came with. We really enjoyed everything and looking forward to the next time we come back.

Ruby Chow's is always 10's across the board! Tried a number of dishes and not a single one disappointed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is always beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating is comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Bar options are also great. Our waiter was also so kind and gave us great service!

I have been wanting to try this place for years, and I'm so glad I made it here! I'll go through each dish because we ate a LOT and some things were better than others. My Thai tea martini was phenomenal, one of the best cocktails I've had. Highlights for food were lobster fried rice, walnut shrimp, and the purple potato fries (can't remember the exact name). Both desserts yummy as well. Only things that we ate that were underwhelming were the soft boiled egg dish and the basil chicken. I'd skip those. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Vibes are cool in here as well and service was good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I plan to be back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Wow! The ambiance of this place is super cool. Asian meets speakeasy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff is very nice. Food is phenomenal. Crab Rangoon were some of the best I have ever had. The Chicken Katsu with the Caccio Pepe was amazing and we loved the Brussels sprouts. We'll be back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved this place. Such a vibe in the heart of OFW.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Really great service. Welcoming feel. The food was incredible. It's like an Asian fusion tapas bar. Cocktails were great. Everything we had was wonderful. I didn't get any photos of the food tho because I was too busy scarfing it down. The green beans, the bao buns, the curry.. 10 out of mf 10. Definitely a good date night, night with friends, or if you're trying to show off the ATL food scene.

5/5 recommend!! Loved Ruby Chows. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I enjoyed the dimly lit, speakeasy-esque vibe (the red velvet curtain upon entry took me by surprise, but I liked it)![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The craft cocktails were delicious, and every plate that I got was at least a 4/5. The dumplings are a must-try and also, the scallops were cooked to perfection and flavorful..they were just a tinge too salty but I'm thinking that was a one-off mishap. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are 2 floors - the seating is a bit tight but cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a great atmosphere with delicious food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Ok this was amazing! I've been needing to get here for so long, and I'm so happy we finally did. The cocktails were amazing, and all the food was perfect. Ruby Chow's is asian-fusion tapas style, so you should come prepared to share and try lots of different dishes! Highlights for me were the Pork Belly & Grits and Brussels Sprouts! Parking is valet for $5, but the lot was full on a Friday, so we just found street parking around the corner! You also could pay to park at ponce if you wanted! Uber would be ideal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bar is gorgeous, but definitely get a reservation!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's great for a drink and tapas, but you can't just walk up to get a spot at the bar!! It's highly popular!!

Returned for another try. Sat at the bar as we had no reservations and it was packed. Service was fast and attentive. Food came out incredibly quickly. Katsu bao (4/5): good seasoning, fluffy bun, could use a bit more slaw/crunch Maitake mushroom (5/5): crispy and fried but not greasy, good serving size and well seasoned Scallops (3/5): three scallops that are over salted and nondescript sauce/mushrooms Squash soup: (4/5) corn soup was out. Super creamy and savory with some nice crunch from nuts and a tinge of acid. Shaking beef (3.5/5): it's literally just a deconstructed burger. The meat is nice but the rest of it is just straight up unseasoned raw lettuce, onion, and tomato. Mango sticky rice (5/5): probably the best thing I've had here so far. Rice is PROPERLY sticky, mango sorbet has a good balance of sweetness, the mochi bits are fun, and there's still actual mango. Massive serving size compared to all the other tapa sized plates here.

With my boyfriend on a Monday night, it was just the two of us and there was no wait. We ordered a couple of items and they came out pretty fast. I really like the fried oysters. They were really lightly breaded and the sauce was unique. They had a lot of unique cocktails. I ordered the one with gin and butterfly, and it was light and refreshing. The hamachi carpacio was pretty good. Roti canai was thicker than I was used to not as thin and crispy but still good. I think the crème brûlée Thai tea was really unique and flavorful.

We were a party of 8 people! The wait time was a bit long but they were able to accommodate our party in a small setting since all of the tables would normally seat about 2 people. I didn't take any pictures of the food because I was pretty hungry but we had the basil chicken, Roti Canai, Brussel sprouts, Szechuan green beans, & I believe the shaking beef! All the dishes were very good my favorites were the beef, green beans and the basil chicken! The Thai tea martini was also very good a different take on an espresso martini with a unique drink menu overall! One thing though is that the menu is kind of small bites not like a big dinner style. We did however fill up on all the dishes we ordered. Overall a great place to chill and catch up with friends not to mention the cute lights in the bar seating area as well!

Noodles, Brussels sprouts, and house pickles were delicious. Katsu bun was fresh and tasty with a nice spicy sauce. Galbi bun wasn't great. It wasn't hot and was pretty bland even with the pickles on it. The decor here is 1920s Shanghai and also adorable!

    Lily S.

Cheyenne was amazing. She remembered my lychee martini customary order from last time. Shaking beef was great as always. Roti was amazing. The basil chicken was not good. Chicken thigh fried too hard.

To start we got the lobster crawfish wontons and the seafood spring rolls. The lobster crawfish wontons have a Cajun cream cheese inside which was a flavor bomb, and the wontons were fried crispy but not oily. The sauce on top helped to cut through the richness of the wonton stuffing. It was a delicious appetizer!! The seafood spring rolls were massive, again a really good fry on them with the skin being thin and super crunchy but not overdone. The seafood inside was generous, but I would say the flavor was more just of the seafood itself instead of any special seasoning. Still good, but we preferred the wontons more! The mains were the lobster fried rice and the drunken noodles. The lobster fried rice had a gochujang flavoring but didn't have as much of a wok sear in my opinion, but was still good! The lobster was fried beautifully, where the meat was super soft and the fry on the outside was crunchy! It also came with these fried kale chips that were sooooo good, these chips had so much flavor!! My favorite was the drunken noodles, which had a lot of flavor from the wok sear and a slightly sweet and spicy sauce. We asked for chili on the side, and definitely think the added heat made this dish much more flavorful. The lobster here was also really good and well buttered! For dessert, we shared the matcha crème Brulee which was fantastic, strong matcha flavor that was tempered with the creaminess of crème Brulee. The torched sugar on top was superrrr well done, super crunchy and probably one of the best sugar torching on crème Brulee I have had!! In between each item, Jojo would clean our plates and table, and we saw him also ensuring everyone's dish was cooked to their liking. Everyone seemed to really care about the quality of the food and it made for a really nice experience! I would say the ambiance is dim lit casual to upscale, great for work events, date nights, etc. Overall a great place for flavor packed food with exceptional service!

I ordered the Shandong braised chicken, a dish presented with its protein resting atop a glossy sauce and a generous scattering... ten or more pieces of accompanying dough. In theory, this bread should serve as both sponge and companion, absorbing the depth of the braise and rounding the dish into comfort. In practice, it was profoundly compromised. The dough was unmistakably moldy, visibly, undeniably so. This alone is alarming in any dining establishment; it signals a breakdown not just in execution, but in fundamental kitchen vigilance. More troubling than the oversight itself was the response. When the issue was brought to the attention of the waiter, the reaction suggested familiarity rather than concern as though such an occurrence fell within the realm of the expected. There was no urgency, no visible embarrassment, no effort to meaningfully rectify the moment. The tone felt faintly dismissive. The effect on the room was immediate: the couple seated ahead of us, having witnessed the exchange, opted against ordering an entrée at all. That, in itself, speaks volumes. There were, however, redeeming elements. The spicy beef was well-prepared, delivering heat with balance rather than bravado. The diced potatoes were excellent, crisp at the edges, tender within, and seasoned with confidence. These dishes hinted at a kitchen capable of competence, even finesse, when fundamentals align. The atmosphere added an unexpected layer. Spa music drifted through the dining room an odd choice for a meal that aims to be bold and hearty, creating a tonal dissonance that never quite resolved. Service hovered in the realm of "acceptable," buoyed largely by polite refrains of "yes sir" and "no ma'am," though these formalities felt more like compensation for a lack of true attentiveness than genuine hospitality. I would not go so far as to discourage anyone from dining here. There is promise, and there are flashes of real quality. But I would offer this advice plainly and without drama: inspect your food carefully. Mold has no place on the plate, and until that reality is treated with the seriousness it demands, the experience remains compromised no matter how good the potatoes may be.

What initially brought me in was Atlanta Burger Week, and I ordered their featured burger to take advantage of the special. While the burger was good, the real star of the meal was the smoked barbecue fried rice with brisket. It was absolutely fantastic. The brisket was incredibly tender and practically melted in your mouth. The fried rice itself was packed with flavor and had such a unique, smoky taste that perfectly complemented the barbecue. It is not often that a side dish completely steals the show, but this one certainly did. The atmosphere was welcoming, the food arrived promptly, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. It is always exciting to discover a restaurant that delivers something a little different, and Sweet Auburn BBQ does exactly that by blending flavors and cuisines in a way that feels both creative and comforting. I left full, impressed, and honestly a little disappointed in myself for waiting so long to visit. This definitely will not be my last trip, and I already know the smoked barbecue fried rice with brisket will be ordered again.

AMBIANCE The experience got off to a rough start with parking. They validate parking at a local parking structure or garage but the directions on the placard outside the establishment were unclear.... with an arrow to the back. The back of what? As newcomers to the restaurant and the area, the parking structure and restaurant that was point of refernece was not helpful. There wasn't even an address or street name to go by. We ended up circling behind nearby buildings and down another street before finally finding the parking structure. It felt unnecessarily confusing and set a slightly frustrating tone before we even walked in. Once inside, things improved. We were seated right away in a booth on the right side of the dining room. The space had a stylish, eclectic feel....interesting decor with a lively, buzzy energy. Not overly loud, but definitely active for a weekday night. SERVICE Service was efficient and welcoming through though. Our waitress quickly brought water and drinks and gave us time to look over the menu. The concept of Asian fusion twist meets Southern BBQ is intriguing, but as first-timers, it took some effort to picture how the flavors would come together. We found ourselves cross-referencing Yelp photos for awhile just to get a better sense of what to expect. FOOD We decided to get started with the brisket egg rolls, one of their most popular items. They arrived in about 10-15 minutes and were a solid opener...found them crispy, flavorful, and a creative twist on the usual pork ones. For mains, we ordered the BBQ plate with fries and collards, along with the smoked chicken curry. The BBQ plate was fine...nothing really amazing and pretty tiny portions for what you're paying for. The flavors were good, but not justified for the premium. The chicken curry was fine. For $17.50, I definitely expected more pulled pork that people were raving about....the dish was more than 1/2 rice and potatoes. The standout, by far, was the brisket egg roll...easily the highlight of the meal and better than we anticipated given the fusion concept. Overall, it felt like you're paying a bit more for the concept and presentation than the actual quantity. Wouldn't come back again.

We spent $400 with tip and I only liked or remembered about 20% of what we ordered. Drinks are beautiful and creative. It would be great for a drink and sexy vibes, but I would go somewhere else to eat. I forgot to take pictures (OOPS)
