This is the best veterinary clinic in Memphis. Period Dr. Surat is the medical professional that has been treating my labrador and miniature poodle for under a year. She is a very compassionate and caring Doctor Who has supported me and my pets during a difficult time for my miniature poodle, who is now totally blind. Dr. Surat medical assistant is fabulous as well. They both truly care about my dogs and I'm so happy that I found this Clinic. Period. I had such a horrible time with Arlington pet hospital, I truly believe that that was a blessing which led me to find Wolfchase, Animal Hospital. The front desk staff are caring and do a fantastic job even though they are busy at times. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who truly wants the best for the animals. I have been going to Wolfchase Animal Hospital for over 10 years now. I have had several dogs and a cat during that time. I used Dr. Dixon when I first came then changed to Dr. Serratt when Dr. Dixon left. My fur babies have all had exceptional care at Wolfchase. I adopted a rescue dog with many fears and is reactive. Dr. Serratt and the staff have been so patient and loving with him. They know all of my pets by name and are very prompt getting prescriptions filled and appointments made. When I fostered some puppies with Megaesophagus, who needed to be weighed every week, Wolfchase Animal Hospital told me to just bring them there and they would weigh them free of charge even though they were not the veterinarian of those pups just to save me time. Never will I go there again. It's like going to a used car dealership now. I went to get my dog a cytopointe shot and some gentaspray for her skin. Expected to spend 100.00. Instead I end up with a bath, antibiotics, and a 48.00 office visit instead of a recheck for 24.00. I was not asked about the bath or the antibiotics. They just did it any way. That is the second time they've done this to me. Not to mention I had to wait an hour and a half in my car. Never again will I enter this business and I've been their client for 15 years. Our family pet got very sick suddenly. When we called to get her in, they said they were too busy. We absolutely understand making appointments is necessary, but this came on overnight. The second time we called (same day) we were told the vet was taking lunch. They told us to take her somewhere else since they were too busy. We took her to another vet and found out she was in kidney failure and we ended up having to put her down that day. This had been our vet for over 20 years and we will never go back. Would give less than 1 star if possible. Very disappointed in the staff and business altogether. read more

My first few visits went just fine. I've been bringing my dog for about a year now and have never had any issues. However, this past week my dog got a papilloma virus bump removed from his upper lip as it was becoming an obstacle for him to eat. The surgery went well and the first day of healing was fine, however the second morning, his bottom stitch unraveled and I contacted the vet. After explaining what happened I was put on hold. The vet assistant informed me that the Vet figured it would happen but not to worry the lip would still heal properly. Mind you, i was never told this. I'm looking at this gap in his lip thinking no way! But after being assured again I decided to listen to the Vet. Now, less than a week later, I am sitting in an emergency Animal Hospital awaiting a new set of stitches because they completely came out and there was blood everywhere. I wish his procedure would've been performed properly and my corncerns handled adequately to begin with, maybe I wouldn't be getting him a second set of stitches at 1am Christmas morning. read more

I couldn't get home fast enough to write this review! I had to take my dog to the vet this evening. I wasn't sure if I could get an appointment so last minute, but it was no problem. Wolfchase was recommended to us by someone D works with, so we figured it couldn't be too bad... It was great! From the minute we walked in, the people checking us in were super friendly, and they really seemed to love all the animals that came through the door. What we loved most, though, was Dr. Taylor!! She was wonderful, and kind, and funny, and seemed to enjoy the company of not just our dog, but us, too. So first I have to say that I love my fellow Yelpers. Being new to Memphis, I needed to find a good vet for my two cats. Based on the recommendations I received, I decided to go to Wolfchase Animal Hospital and I must say I am now a fan! This morning I was stuck in traffic on I40E...ughh!!! so I called to tell them that I was running late. Not only were they so nice, they told me that they would see me when I got there and for me not to worry. When I finally got there, I walked in with my cats and was greeted and told that they would be right with me. One of the girls at the front desk handed me paperwork to fill out and told me to have a seat. As I filled out the forms, I looked around and noticed how clean and organized everything was. It was also quite a large space that have several examination rooms, boarding areas, and even an area that had pet supplies for purchase. When I finished my paperwork, I handed it to them and they took my cats to be weighted. When they finished weighting them, I waited about 10 minutes before we saw the vet. Wolfchase Animal Hospital has several vets but we were seen by Dr. Bowers. I found Dr. Bowers to be very kind as he was so gentle with my cats. Being very concerned about my cats,I had plenty of questions for Dr. Bowers and he was very knowledgable and helpful in addressing all of my concerns. My cats received their annual physical and one of them needed their annual shots. Overall, I have found a new vet for my cats. Not only are they affordable, they have friendly staff and you can clearly see that they love animals! Thanks to my fellow yelpers for this recommendation!!!! read more

In the past year, they have helped us with one abscessed tooth for Birdie, large lymphoma removal for Sadie, geriatric and regular wellness check-ups, as well as the loss of our beloved and very special Stevie. After reading all the great reviews, I decided this might be the place I've been looking for to take my 18 week old puppy for the rest of her life, along with a second puppy I am adopting soon. Today I called to get an appointment because our puppy is peeing blood and was told "I am sure you can get in somewhere else today. The first appointment we have available for a new patient is on Tuesday." Tuesday is five days from today! Who does that?! I guess Wolfchase Animal Hospital has enough business and does not need new patients. Unless you can plan for when your pet is going to be sick, I would steer clear. I mean, really, though, thank you for letting me know what your business is like on the front end! You may have a few great vets, but if you run your practice in this manner, I'll just keep looking for a better place! read more

The front end staff cannot be trusted to correctly book appointments. The doctors are caring and knowledgeable- but, the inaccurate and rude customer service from the front end makes the experience miserable for the pup parent. No office manager is available and it SHOWS! I have had 3 pets with this office-but, the negativity I experienced today has prompted me to take my business to another vet office. I was informed that my dog who is in PAIN had a scheduled appointment for 4:20 PM the the following day and to bring him in after 9 AM when run for his sized dog would be available (he's a 165lb Dane).- That way-the vet would have some time to watch him move and determine if he needed an X-ray. When I arrived to drop him off for the appointment-I was told that there is no longer an appointment and if I had wanted to drop him off- I should have come in earlier in the day as instructed! I was also informed that the run was still available-but that since he was an hour late for the 9 AM Drop Off Time (not his 4:20 PM appointment) that he was not going to be seen and that his 4:20 PM appointment was cancelled! Apparently- this office has enough business that they don't need mine. read more

Aww.. Reading the other review for Wolfchase Animal Hospital makes me sad! I actually got a Yelp account just so I could throw in my own opinion. What happened to Mich M. sounds very terrible, but not at all like anything I have experienced in my 10+ years of using this hospital. Calling Dr. Taylor, who happens to be my dog & cat's vet, "selfish" is downright silly. She is a wonderful doctor-- professional but always willing to explain any complications in terms that I will understand. I really appreciate how she takes plenty of time with her patients and shows genuine concern for their welfare. This has been my personal experience with Dr. Taylor, but the same can be said for the rest of the staff. I feel lucky to live so close to such a stellar veterinary hospital, and would recommend this place to anyone! read more

Very unhappy with my recent experience. I have been a long time dog mom with pets going here over the last 13 years . The last few years the service had declined but I was loyal to this vets office . I called several weeks prior to my dogs needing to be kenneled. I asked questions on how everything worked and what I needed . I told the receptionist I needed to kennel my 2 dogs while on vacation. I was told it was $22 per day per dog. I also asked for them to have a bath. She said no problem and I could not pick up the dogs by noon on Saturday i needed to arrive at 4 pm to pick up dogs on Sunday I arrived promptly at 4 pm. There was already one person waiting in parking lot. Another arrived At 410, 415 and 430. I was the next to last person to leave. The lady that rolled in at 430 was gone first . I asked the tech how could I expedite this next time since I had been there 40 minutes while others had been there 10 minutes. I understand COVID. Who doesn't ? She stated that they have no way of knowing who got there first since they were in back and could not see us arrive. Ok. I understand that., but I was told to arrive at 4 not 430 So she brings out a $550 bill and I ask did they get bath ? I didn't charge you got one, let me go check. No she says they didn't get one. She stated that I am supposed to tell them at drop off. Really? When I called , they were able to quote right price, but not the right pick up time of give my dogs a bath as requested ? If I had know I could have just rolled up at 430, I would have I had to keep my car running that whole time waiting I my 2 pups Service is important. I told her in a nice manner That going forward she could ask others who arrived first. My experience is that people are truthful. Make sure your employees give the right information to clients. They will from here on out be my normal vet. After a freak accident my dog began having seizures. She spent the night with the emergency vet and then was released to us to take to our vet. I was recommended by another vet to take my sweet girl here. They are affordable and very caring. They are sweet from start to end and never once did I get the feeling of being blamed. You normally get interrogated when something like this happens but this vet didn't interrogate us. Instead she was immediately taken back and he listened to what happened told us the treatment plans and estimate. I'm sold now and all four of my dogs will be taken to them from here on out. read more

Uncaring Dr. Taylor let my poor 15 year old dog suffer over the weekend and wouldn't see us until monday despite my begging to help my dog. My dog died Tuesday and could have lived if she had had enough heart to see us sooner and give him medicine. She's a selfish person and should have never been a vet in the first place. read more

At the last minute we were forced to find another vet for our Yorkie. Izzy was so happy when we picked her up from boarding. We could tell that she was well taken care of. Extremely friendly staff!!! Dr. Taylor has been our vet for over 30 years for our precious pets that we have had and she is one of the most dedicated ,knowledgeable ,and caring vets . When she had her office at Covington Pike and Raleigh LaGrange and moved to the new location their was no question of ever going any place else. We followed her to Wolfchase and have been going there ever since. She has taken such good care of all our babies. She takes her time to tell you what is going on and what is needed to do next. When we had to have our Cocker Spaniels put down due to severe blindness,cancer and other illness that was hurting them and with their ages she cried right along with us. She really cares and will go to great lengths to take care of your baby. The other veterinarians who have seen our babies are wonderful and go that extra mile as well to take care of your pets. The staff are amazing and always friendly and give much love to your babies. We highly ,highly recommend Dr. Taylor and her other vets and staff. read more

I am very glad to have found this vet. They are very good with the pets and are conscious of our feelings. They always have a positive attitude. Worked with Dr Dixon first and she is great... Another thing I like about them is they have one Doctor that deals with Exotics and in particularly for my new Savannah Kitten. I can't say that my dog or cat really enjoys going to the vet, just as we do not like going to the doctor, but they work with us very well. My dogs and cat went to Wolfchase Animal for many years, we always saw Dr. Drury who was the best. Despite the other rude staff, I continued to use Wolfchase because of Dr. Drury. Once Dr. Drury left it became intolerable. Anytime time I had an appointment, I literally sat there at least 30 to 45 minutes waiting to be seen. The front desk girls are VERY rude when you call. Anytime either of my dogs or cat were ill I would call to make an appointment first thing in the morning when they opened. They never were able to fit in my sick pet the same day or even the next and generally showed no concern for my sick pet. The next appointment was generally days away regardless of how sick my pet was or that it was on occasion, an urgent matter. They should be able to fit in a visit for a sick pet the same day or possibly the next when you call at 7am. The final straw was when my cat died. She passed suddenly at home in the late afternoon and I had no idea what to do because a pet had never passed at home. I called Wolfchase around 5pm and asked what I should do with her body as it was winter and burying her was not an option. They stated I could bring her there until I could make plans for her cremation. The rude front desk girl then said you better hurry, we're about to close. A decent human being would have said "I'm so sorry and we'll wait for you to get here". When I arrived with my cat I went in and asked where I should bring her. I was told drive around back, again completely unprofessional, very rude and no compassion as I had just lost my pet of 17 years 30 minutes prior. I drove around back and waited 20 minutes in the freezing cold for someone to come out. When someone finally bothered to come out after I had to knock on the door, he grabbed her body from me and went back inside and that was it. They gave me some pamphlets and told me to find someone to pick her up for cremation. No offer for assistance. I have never had a vet that didn't offer to handle these situations for the customer. I've had 4 pets pass and my previous vet always handled this. I had to call several times to ensure the cremation service came to pick up my cat, they couldn't even be bothered to let me know and when I did call was left on hold forever and when the girl came back on the phone she said "Well, they must've picked her up, she's not back there so I'm assuming she's gone". Basically, do not use this practice. The staff is rude and they don't care about you or your pet when they are sick or pass away. read more
