I give 10/5 stars. When my cat was sick Dr. Clayton asked a million questions to help figure out what was going on, did a very thorough physical exam, and printed off labs and went over them with me. She was completely transparent about pricing and asked me if I was ok with the proposed work up before doing anything. I'm a medical professional myself and I don't know many human doctors who are that good. Give the place a try and see for yourself. read more

We brought our cat, Lucy, here last week after having taken her elsewhere with no satisfaction. (Lucy had been vomiting with diarrhea since 5AM. ) The other vet had denied need for hydration. Dr. Lynn Svoboda was great!. She was compassionate, related well to Lucy and listened well to Lucy's HX and the meds Lucy had not tolerated previously. She hydrated Lucy with hydration, x-rayed to R/O nothing had been swallowed; gave anti-nausea med; and suggested we return t'row for 1 additional hydration tx; gave some helpful ideas re feeding. Friend took a cat there for a simple procedure and he ended up getting an infection. Of course they prescribed 4 different meds (that weren't cheap) and said he would get better but hasn't. Had to take him to another Vet and they refused to give her the X-rays she paid for so the cat had to get new ones and she had to pay again. Steer clear Of this place. read more

Memphis Animal Clinic has been our vet since we found our cat as a stray, and they've always been great and caring, but our experience this week during an emergency situation with our baby made me write this review. When our cat got sick, they were unfortunately unable to see him quickly enough, but recommended we take him to another clinic so he could get care. As things progressed during the week and into the weekend, they showed genuine concern and were available to answer our questions. When he took a turn for the worse, they helped us immediately get into the Veterinary Speciality hospital so that he could get the urgent care he needed. My cat is now expected to make a full recovery, and the staff at MAC gave us so much help and compassion even when they weren't receiving our money. They obviously care about their patients and families as more than just a paycheck. I'm very happy that we chose them to be our primary clinic, and expect to receive the same wonderful care for many years! read more

I just moved to Memphis last February. I have 5 dogs. I brought a few of them in to this place and on the first visit, I was ok. I felt like they cared a little and my only critique would be the office could be much cleaner, but whatever... Then a while ago, I brought my puppy in for vaccines and one of my older dogs to get checked out and this visit I felt very uneasy... I had a vet who spent more time trying to upsell me on things I didn't want nor the dogs really needed, but I figured whatever and let them overcharge me as I wanted to just get out of there. This lady really gave me an uneasy feeling. I then went back for the second round of vaccines for my puppy and then today, I tried so hard to spare an hour away from work (I work 7 days and usually in before 4am and put past 6pm) as I was told if I wait until after today, I will need to start all of her shots over... Well, I was in a rush and I dropped my phone so when I arrived I realized I didn't have it, which is where my credit card is, but I had still some cash, so I figured that should cover it... Well, I didn't have almost 400 $ to pay for what I thought was just the last round of shots I already paid 5 or 6 hundred for to this point, which honestly surprised me... I asked if they would let me call in my credit card when I got home, but was told no, so then I asked for just the necessary shots to finish the vaccines and then told ok, but then it would cost more and then she started making up some line of bs. She said I could come back tomorrow, I explained even the time I took today I didn't have... Tomorrow I will be working from about 2am until most likely 8am... My next day off or fighting chance would be in November and now I'm going to have to start everything over... Crazy that I've already been there several times, they know I have 5 dogs and they know I'm crazy busy, but obviously they don't care about your dogs, only overcharging you. I have been to cheap vets (cleaner offices) and I have had a few that are insanely expensive. I have no problem spending money if they care about my dogs... This place is like going into a used car lot, and then the lack of understanding and trust with someone who could be a good (did I mention 5 dogs?) customer, but they are obviously not good people. On the hunt for a new vet, and I guess I have to put my poor pup through all new rounds of vaccines now. I hate to say it, but they're assholes (dirty ones too). read more

Would give 10 stars if I could. We had a spay appointment for my pitty with another place close to us, and that place called us 3 times to change the price. Long story short I went and picked her up after calling Memphis Animal Clinic and they saying they would do it SAME DAY. So I rushed her down the MAC and it was a joy the moment I walked in. The staff was happy and helpful. They obviously love animals. Took great care of Rey and the customer service was top notch. Just wanted post a letter I wrote to the business manager here. Talk about a scam artist.... After asking for multiple itemized bills to reference what they were trying to charge me, she ignored my requests and sent it to collections, with an additional $300 in charges. Stacey Turner is an ignorant scam artist who's goal was to default this plan and sell it to a collection agency to try and strong arm you into payments. Please beware doing business here. (For example they could not get my dogs age correct within a year.... He was 12 months and they were telling me he was 24-26 months.) July 10, 2020 Via USPS First Class Mail Stacy Turner Memphis Animal Clinic 733 East Parkway South Cooper-Young/Midtown Memphis, TN 38104 Dear Ms. Turner, Please accept this letter as an official disputation of the charges which you and the Memphis Animal Clinic (the "Clinic") claim that I owe. When I enrolled in the wellness plan at the Clinic, we agreed upon payments of $39.00 per month. While I acknowledge that I missed certain payments after my phone and credit card were stolen in Colombia, the amount which your office claims I currently owe does not match the payments which have been missed. As you are aware, I have attempted to resolve this matter amicably. On March 9, 2020 I emailed you to request an itemized invoice in order to account for the previously noted discrepancy, with the intent of reconciling the amount in order to make the necessary payments to bring the account current. I did not receive a response to this request, and I followed up again with a phone call on July 8th, 2020. Despite the rudeness you exhibited on this call, my intent remained to pay what was owed to bring the account current. You informed me that you would take a day to reconcile the account and send me an itemized invoice. Instead, not only did you fail to send me the itemized invoice as requested multiple times, but you also referred my account to collections for the full annual plan value. This is unacceptable. Dr. Seratt is extremely knowledgeable, listened to my concerns and opinions about the best course of action throughout my rescue's heartworm treatment. She was willing to review the most current research and literature with me and address every single aspect of his treatment. Dr. Serrat was always willing to answer my questions any time of day and always returned my phone calls promptly. Since the 1st day I took my pitbull to stay at their lodging I have had a smile on my face and so has my dog. Everyone is friendly and the veterinarians truly care about the pets. They call to check up your pet and make sure he/she is being taken care of. The prices are affordable and they provide a lot of information. I only intended to use them for lodging, but ended up adding them as part of the doctor family. I have been to 2 others vets and I must say that Memphis Animal Clinic is the best. read more

I met with Dr. Tower because I had some questions about my cat's passing. I did not feel that he was given the proper care. Maybe he was...maybe he wasn't. But that's not the point. He was extremely defensive and very, very aggressive. When questioned, he stretched his arms across the table, leaned forward and angrily raised his voice to me. He eventually stormed out of the room and slammed my kitty's files on the counter at the front desk. He had no sympathy. I did not deserve that treatment during my time of grief. It would be like an ER physician attacking the family of someone only because they had questions as to why their loved one passed away. Dr. Tower is an insensitive, unsympathetic, unprofessional jerk!! If you want your vet to be caring...look elsewhere. read more

Memphis Animal Clinic continues to provide excellent care for my pets. Over just this past year they helped us overcome parvo and heartworm in the stray we took in. They also took care of my other dog's lump. Not only did they treat my pets, but they kept us informed every step of the way. Additionally, they have always treated my pets like individuals, never just another case. They've always made sure that both my pets and I are completely comfortable with the course of treatment, making adjustments to plans when it best suits my kids. I have been going to Memphis Animal Clinic since mid eighties and my wife started there in about 1977. We have both had great experiences there. If I need to leave my pet or pets there I know they will be treated like I treat them, I had one dog that was evidently hurt by a vet in his past and he hated them. Teddy at Memphis Animal Clinic was the only one there who he would let touch him, but they all treated him with loving caring. They all cared when he died. When my wife died I got a sympathy card from Memphis Animal Clinic. I have always found them to be highly professional and extremely caring, even now with my present dog, who is a big on crazy side they are always great with her. When we moved to Memphis 3 years ago I was tasked with finding a vet for my sweet fur babies. It wasn't an easy task as the vet we left behind was one of the best I have ever met. I was recommended Memphis Animal Clinic by some co-workers and quickly made an appointment for my pup to get his annual check up. Everything was fine and we left happy. The time for is annual came up the following year I was disappointed because the dr. Acted as if he didn't have time for us and that all my questions were dumb and ignorant, not the caring veteran care I was use to at all. Then this pass May my dog got attacked by another dog while out for a walk, nothing serious but enough to break skin and make me want the vet to give it a look. The attack happened on a Sunday so I called first thing Monday morning, the employee I talked to was rude and cold, making me feel like I was over reacting. Didn't seem to care about me telling him what had happened, again not the warm and welcoming vet office I was wanting. It is now time for me to make my pups annual and I am looking else were for a vets office who will treat my fur babies has their own. In fact my cat is long due for a vet visit but I've not taken her in because of the lack of love and empathy I find in this office. Oh, they also had my name wrong in their system and after telling them on 3 different occasions, it wasn't changed until the 4th time, which made me feel that they could care less about me. If you are looking for a vets office who is quick and won't waste your time then this is the place. However, if you are looking for a warm, kind and loving office with friendly staff and loving doctors, this is not the vet office for you. read more

I personally do not prefer Seratt, due to past experiences. As a younger vet, she heavily relies on test before the interest of the client (pet owner). After spending over $800.00 on tests and surgery, I was refused a switch of antibiotics without approving ANOTHER TEST. I ended up having to find another vet for my cat. I take my dog and cat now to Stephen R. Tower. I do really like Tower! He always informs me of the options and finds a rational solution by listening to my needs as a pet owner. So... I just had the BEST EXPERIENCE.. My 1 year English Mastiff is a cuddly snuggly loving pup who acts like baby but looks like a bear. Ww love our baby but we had to put him outside cause of how much dirt and grind he would track from outside and he smelled all the time. No matter how many baths he had. Well a friend of a friend referred us to @Tiffany Jacob @Memphis Animal Clinic.. we were very skeptical because we had done everything to keep the huge pup clean and we were scared he wouldnt be able to handle such a large dog but we were at the end of the rope as they say. I handled him over not expecting much.. yet to out surprise, when we picked up a furry pup.. HE WAS CLEAN AS A BABY BOTTOM and smelled so Good. My family dachshunds have been in the care of Dr. Tower --and for the last 4 years additionally Dr. Seratt--for 14 years. I would not take them anywhere else! They get the best care and referral when needed to Mem Vet Spec. Dr. Seratt and Sarah came to our home to euthanize my dear Splash in his own bed with family around him in 2012 and then took him back to the clinic for pickup by Dixie Pet. More compassionate and humane than any human hospital. I just love them and the entire staff. Now our new baby girl Schelle has joined the MAC family and 15-year-old Reggy is still plugging along! My family has two dogs, both of whom are rescues and sweet beyond belief. One day recently I arrived home from work to find that one had obtained an injury sometime during the day, and it was soon clear that he needed emergency care. My wife and I prepared ourselves for a visit to the area's after-hours emergency vet. She called up our regular vet, at Memphis Animal Clinic, hoping to still catch someone but not expecting to as it was closing time. Very soon after calling, though, she and I were surprised to hear Dr. Stephen Tower answer the phone. He told her to come right away and they worked on our dog as if it was the only dog that mattered. Dr. Tower and his techs remained there for over an hour after closing, making absolutely sure that our dog was going to recover with a minimum of both discomfort and chance of infection. A few days later, he personally checked and gave our dog a clean bill of health! Now, what separates Dr. Tower from the rest is not that he made sure his patient recovered under his watch or that he stayed over past closing time. It is his total compassion for the animals that he treats, as well as his ability to remember every animal and their humans' stories. He remembers the personal preferences of my wife and I and knows that some methods of treatment are better for us than others due to a number of factors, one being that we have a 14-month-old daughter! He is as patient, observant and comprehensive during a routine vaccination visit as he is during an urgent-care situation. He shows great empathy with his patients; if they are in pain then he is in pain, if they are feeling better then he visibly perks up. He also has cultivated a fine group of technicians and support staff, and his newer associate, Dr. Field is knowledgeable, caring and enthusiastic and we are excited for her to help our pets in the future! Memphis has numerous fine veterinarians but we are lucky to have found such a wonderful clinic and its doctors. read more
