Wolfgang's is one of my absolute favorite breakfast spots! I have tried quite a few things on the menu, all delicious, but I consistently go back to the Eggs Benedict with a side of hash browns. There is rarely a time that you don't have to wait for a table, but I think that's a pretty good sign. We often have one person stay at the restaurant and then go check out the antique shop across the street while we wait. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I've heard the hazelnut coffee is really good. Also, if you ever order anything with whipped cream, be prepared to fall in love with the homemade goodness. The hot chocolate with that whipped cream on top is amazing. read more

Seriously another awesome Staple of East town. I've been coming here since the 80's.....Their waffles and pancakes are the highlight of any Kid or Adults day. Its all good here. Really a phenomenal breakfast here with a healthy dose of friendly service gets this establishment a rare 5 stars. The kitchen was fast, all items cooked perfectly. The only room for improvement I could find at all was that my son's hot chocolate was way too sweet. Despite a packed Easter crowd, the kitchen was quick and so the wait was short. Areal GR treasure. Thanks to Yelp we were in town for girls night out and decided to try this place out Saturday Morning. Everything was perfect from walking into the Restaurant Smelling Hazelnut coffee I appreciated the Smiling and helpful Servers. The Delicious Food was the highlight of our trip. I remember when Wolfgangs was the only place to go for breakfast. The lines were ridiculously long as hung over party goers from the night before came to cure their illnesses. Well, those days seem long gone and it seems to be replaced with the same people man years later who come with many crying babies in strollers. Its extremely loud and while the food is quite good, there are so many more amazing breakfast places that have set up shop. We got tired of the long waits and the screaming, crying babies. This place is exceptional, located in the heart of East Town. Nice, little trendy area. Its a great get together place. Is it anything special? No, not really. Its just...food. Coffee is wonderfull, and Its unlimited. Depending on the waitress, she will give you coffee to go for free. The breakfest is heavy, I always feel super bloated and gassey like I ingested a gallon of lard. Do I regret it? Nah, its just... breakfest. Will I go again, yep, you betcha. I am a big fan of this establishment. Not a big fan of the long wait that happens if you go on weekends though. Wolfgang's has a ton of different breakfast plates to choose from. If you love hollandaise and poached eggs, this is the place to go. In addition to your typical eggs benedict, you can get corned beef hash benedict, benedicts with turkey, spinach, tomato, bacon, sausage patties, asparagus...deliciousness. Love the selections! In addition to the glorious benedicts, they have skillets, omelettes, breakfast burritos, pancake, waffles, everything you want for breakfast. The plates are usually quite large. Husband and I got skillets the last time we went and it was enough to feed us for breakfast for 3 days. They have lunch, but really, who goes there for lunch?! The wait can get long at your typical weekend breakfast/brunch time, but it is worth the wait. If you don't have the time to wait, you can call if your order. If you get a benedict to go, they put the hollandaise in it's own container so nothing gets soggy. read more

This is one of my husband's favorite places to eat in GR. We live 45 mins away and he will wake up from dreaming about their blueberry pancakes and hazelnut coffee. I enjoy that they finally have GF bread, just waiting on pancakes now ;). I however do not like the wait system they have. Today I came in and was told a 45 min wait. Fine, I came in at 10:55am at 11:55am, after I watched 4 people (groups of 2, just like me) who came in after me sit down ahead of me. I went and asked where I was on the list and how long.i noticed they had rewrote the list from before. They told me there was 8 groups ahead of me and it would be 25mins. I then explained by concern to them about wait and I had already been here 45 mins. The host did seat me right away after that. The portions are large. The food is great. I am a return customer, but sometimes hesitant to dine-in often because it can be pricey. But still fair. The atmosphere feels like you're still in the 90s. It feels old and a little nostalgic. Maybe that's a good thing because if they updated the interior, they'd probably build that extra cost into their menu. And then they would have out-priced me. I went with the Vander Meer Skillet. It was wonderful. Unique and so tasty. I took the server's suggestion and tried the English muffing toast. Pretty cool. Like sour dough but chewy, like an English muffin. If you're visiting GR you have to give this place a try. read more

Sadly I was disappointed, I had read so many good reviews so I was eager to try their food. I had the tiramisu pancakes and it was nothing like tiramisu. Pancakes were dry and tasteless. My friend had the Keane, he was also greatly disappointed. The gravy was flavorless, the corn beef hash was more of a puree than a substantial meaty dish. The service really made us feel unwelcome. Fast friendly service. I ordered the Walton Eggs Benedict because I read another review here and thought I'd take that advice. Well I was not disappointed. The hollandaise was smooth and delicious. The eggs and bacon were just as I like them. Even the coffee was good. I will definitely bring my daughter here who us studying at Calvin, because it is so close. The prices are also reasonable. Okay. I find that the dishes are disproportionately large more than they are good. You can get your eggs more ways here than anywhere on the planet, but flavoring and plating is not their strong suit. If all you want is salt and pepper or ultrasweet, you're good to go. I haven't eaten here in years but I remember it being better. The first time that I went I met a friend there and her food was burnt and our waitress was kind of a dingy. She tried to take my plate while I was still eating. The next time that we went, it was better but I was a little confused as to why they put a large piece of cantaloupe on a bowl half it's size so that when we tried to cut it half of it ended up on the floor. I was a little pissed off about that. Why couldn't they just put it on a plate? I probably will go there from time to time when I am craving French toast, but since no one else in my house hold like it, I'll be flying solo. read more

This place is the best place for breakfast! We have tried to many other GR places and always find ourselves wishing we had just stuck with what we know is great! Kids have a great selection and won't leave hungry! The Walton is a big hit with every guest we have brought and my vegetarian friend (who eats eggs) loves the breakfast burrito. I always get the westsider and the hash browns with cheese and red onions are awesome! Food is always cooked perfect and tastes great every time. I suggest a cafe Wolfgang to drink if you have a bit of a sweet tooth. Half coffee half hot chocolate with thick whip cream on top. If you come on a weekend around 10 plan to wait, but trust its worth it! read more

We were hungry after a trip to the zoo, and found this second after our first choice spot was closed on a Sunday. We were relieved to find that this breakfast joint went past the lunch hour. The place is a homey diner that is quite spacious. The restaurant seems to take in a variety of patrons. There are 2 main areas - one that has a bar area to accommodate the lone diners, and smaller groups. We had to wait it out for a larger table for our group of 8. The waitress was nice enough to get my niece's order first not to be too late past her meal time. Our meal took longer, but it is to be expected. I got the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Frittata, and it was good but it tasted more like a sweet and sour and slightly spicy stir-fry on top of my egg. It sounds weird, but it was really good. I like creative dishes and haven't ever had anything like this for breakfast. So, to me this seemed more of an Asian flair tasting dish, so slightly misleading and not what I expected. I think Jamaican Jerk would be a pretty spicy and not have more tropical fruits than vegetables - mangoes and pineapples. I think of plantains and maybe more of a cajun type of seasoning. Their menu has all the traditional breakfast offerings, but the roasted rosemary red potatoes did stand out! I ordered a breakfast burrito which was pretty bland, and I would not recommend, I was looking forward to the black beans, but there were about 10 of them in the burrito, oh well. The red potatoes, however, were delicious!! I would try other breakfast spots around since nothing really stood out here, decor or food wise. read more

This place is always a HUGE hit among friends and family. If you are in the Grand Rapids area, this is a must go to! Parking can be tricky but drive around the block a couple of times and eventually, you will find a spot within a short walking distance. As a huge fan of breakfast I was PUMPED to check this place out. The menu is really big, if you can't find something you like there is something wrong with you (seriously). I had a reallllly hard time deciding which item to pick. I ended up with one of their delicious versions of eggs Benedict (but with spinach and tomatoes instead of ham). It was really good. They also have good coffee. My only complaint is that it took quite a while to get our food and it was a Monday during the day when they weren't that busy. The best place to eat Breakfast in Grand Rapids! Waitstaff is prompt and courteous and the food is absolutely amazing. Came here as a visitor to the area years ago, now as a resident I come here about once every other week. We came here on a very busy Saturday morning with a group of nine, including three small children. We did call ahead seating 30 minutes prior which helped tremendously. The host was very kind and accommodating. We were seated promptly and our server was super friendly and attentive. I should have known the struggle to find parking was a good indication of incredible food. Stopped by for breakfast after staying in downtown Grand Rapids for a work function. I am a HUGE fan! Eggs Benedict, done so well in so many different ways. I have never been as indecisive about which Eggs Benedict to order. Luckily my fiance' ordered my second choice so I could indulge in both. I can't describe how satisfying my meal was. Bacon...corn hash beef...red potatoes with sauteed onions...I want it now! Oh, let's not forget, the hollandaise sauce: perfect.
