The Greek salad with grilled chicken is so good and the garlic knots have been better the last few times we gotten them! First time trying penne Ala vodka. It was good, but we didn't care for the addition of the red sauce on top. It also seemed black peppery (but I liked that). Love Danny's Pizzeria. Usually stop in for lunch. This time for dinner. Ordered the shrimp parmesan. A cup of spaghetti with a scant amount of marinara sauce. The way- over- cooked breaded shrimp had tail shell still on. $17.99. Never again straying from the pizza. The server was above & beyond. read more

My husband's favorite pizza place. The atmosphere is pretty typical for a pizza place. The service is great and I think they do a big carry out business. Last time we were there, the ceiling fans were terribly dirty! That is the case with several restaurants we have visited in the area. read more

We haven't been here In awhile just because we live a little far away! On the way home from Anna Maria Island we stopped in. It was a little chilly outside but the fires kept it toasty. We ordered a pizza and curly fries. Extra cheese, with half broccoli and light crust. Danny's nailed it! The pizza was perfect and the fries were simply perfect. Bodhi ordered grilled chicken and it was great and Bodhi approved!!! Thea was our waitress and what a fabulous job she did. We never ran out of drinks, she checked on us often and food came out steaming!!! What a great experience!! This is definitely some of the best pizza around!! Highly reccomend!!! read more

Great Delivery, Excellent Calzones I rented a home in Bradenton for my son's wedding and ordered from Danny's Pizzeria the day we arrived. With a house full of family, delivery timing and food quality were important--and they did not disappoint. The food arrived hot and right on time, which was a huge plus after a long travel day. The family-size calzones were amazing and absolutely perfect for sharing. I would highly recommend ordering those if you're feeding a group. The gravy (tomato sauce) was also very good--thick and a deep dark red color, which we truly appreciated, especially being from New Jersey where we take our sauce seriously. We also ordered a variety of hot sub sandwiches. While they were perfectly fine and satisfying, there wasn't anything particularly special about them. Overall, we would definitely order from Danny's again, and I want to reassure anyone considering delivery--don't worry at all. Danny's has the best pizza I've tried in Bradenton. I've gotten takeout as well as ate in. I love that they have outdoor seating and heaters for when it's a bit chilly. My wife and I ordered a pizza for pickup, 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 sausage, onion and green pepper. There was ABSOLUTELY NO TASTE AT ALL, not even the veggies, The crust was over cooked and tough. State of Flux We visited Danny's last night for dinner, for me, pizza. The place was busy but there was a table available for us. They also have outdoor seating, which wasn't so busy. I liked the place, along a wall they have license plates and police patches. They also have some TVs, I enjoyed watching a demolition derby played on the TV I was facing. Our service was great during our visit. I ordered their 10" Supreme pizza, with anchovies, and while we waited they brought us complimentary garlic knots. That helped tamp down my hunger for the time it took to make my pizza, which was under 20 minutes. The food was good. The knots, which came with a red sauce for dipping, were pretty doughy. We still ate them all. I like free food. My pizza was also good, and it was about all I could eat by myself. I do like anchovies and for many of the slices that was the predominate flavor. I don't think the other toppings stood out too much. The pizza had a traditional crust. Other reviews described a recent change of ownership, from beloved Danny to new owners, with a decline in quality. Our experience wasn't as bad as those reviews described. When we were ready to leave, I asked our server. She told us the purchase has fallen though and Danny still owns the restaurant, although he is not involved in the day to day. What that means, I don't know. Perhaps quality has improved but maybe not to the level yet when Danny was running the show. I didn't see any attitude or issues with any of the staff, customers and staff all seemed happy. read more

Bad experience. Granted it was a Friday eve at 6:00 in season. We waited for 35 min (quoted 25) which is whatever. Unfortunately the hosts screwed up the rotation and sat another party (who had come after us, before us). They sat us at a table right in front of the entrance, with the door constantly opening and closing and the sun blazing in our eyes thru the glass door (they REALLY need to put a shade on the door!!! Like yesterday...) That brings me to comfort: Their ac is never working well-- it was super hot and miserable in there. The tiny mini splits they have in there ain't cutting it. As for al fresco, I don't know how or why ppl eat outside in Florida this time of year. It's funny to see folks eating hot pizza with the sun beating on them. We always liked Danny's so its a shame to say the food has gone down hill: The ranch dressing used to be good and tasted home made. Now it tastes watered down. It tastes like diet ranch that's been cut with water. The wings were dried out and hardly had any sauce on them. 12 wings for $20! Put some more dang sauce on those thangs! The knots were tiny and shrunken. The pizza was just "ok". It just seems like the quality has gone down. We won't be going back anytime soon. Oh and right before we left a server from another table dropped a ramekin of marinara sauce on the floor which splattered all over and got on my brand new jeans! The outdoor space overlooks a giant parking lot. The staff were unapologetically rude and the service was tragic. If we had not been starving we would have left. We were excited to try this place as several people told us it was a worthy stop. This pizza was SO unremarkable. It certainly did not remind me of any NY pizza I've had in New York or outside of New York for that matter. The time there in combination with the horrible service with the added subpar pizza made this place the worst place that we ate during the week in Bradenton. It's been 6 months or so since I've been to Danny's but I was really disappointed at lunch today. I ordered the pepperoni roll and had them add sausage to it as I always do. It came out under-cooked and the cheese & meat were still mostly cold on the inside. The meat was not evenly distributed throughout either. It seemed like there wasn't as much pepperoni as usual. After reheating one 1/2 mostly had cheese and the outer crust was burnt. definitely not what I'm used to from Danny's! read more

Danny's Pizzeria brings a taste of the New Jersey and New York pizza that I miss so much since moving to Florida back in 2001. Growing up in New Jersey, I just took it for granted that great pizza was available on almost every corner. But when I moved to the Sunshine State, I was both shocked and more than a little dismayed that good pizza was not on every corner and in fact, good pizza was pretty hard to find. Good pizza is indeed hard to find here in sunny Florida and when it is found, it is a true reason to celebrate (and what better way to celebrate than with a slice of pizza in your hands?). We made our yearly trek to Danny's on check in day. While the pizza was indeed as delicious as normal, the antipasto salad is where it's at! It was so fresh and full of flavor! The dressing was a perfect accompaniment to it. There was a great balance of meat and cheese to veggies. We had the large which definitely was enough for my husband and I.
