Since the rest of this review is so harsh, I'll add this to the prologue- today, I used the credit they gave me and placed an all around great and satisfying order; I got the Korean cheesesteak from Fred's, the Mac and greens from street bird, and the cucumber dill salad from Mainstay. The girl who brought out the order was friendly, energetic, up-beat, and smiled when handing the order to me. Shoutout to her for doing good. A smile goes a long way and you never know how someone's day can be brightened by being nice for two seconds. My original review stands... and sits, below. Wonder isn't a new concept; it's not even a new thing in general. Wonder has been in manhattan for a bit and the prices there are the same as they are here... or should I say, these are the crook manhattan prices here in Holbrook and I just got a dry chicken that they could have reheated from a grocery store. With a few exceptions, all the shops at wonder are the same at every wonder location... does that not make you wonder? Wonder how they deliver the same mass-produced microwaved and re-heated food? It's just licensing, branding, and marketing. Shared kitchens, food halls, one place producing multiple menus... it's been around for a while, some are definitely better than others; one in queens I went to behind a security door was the sketchiest, but als the most generous and tasty... it's smart, especially since we're all paying so much and becoming less social, more controlled, and life's just taking the turns that it's taking for the majority of us. I digress. I've tried a good portion of their "restaurants," again, it's one big kitchen with a ragtime staff they trained on how to pull out packages from the refrigerator and put them in who knows what, a 350 degree toaster oven? I don't know, but flavors aren't really developed in most dishes over time, that's for sure... although they are slow as shit and it does take time.... But there's no depth to most of this food. I also suspect without confirming that some of the food items are just doubled up on the other menus and rebranded with a different ingredient, you'll notice similar dishes on the opposing menus. Alanzas meatballs, (3 for $15) they're good, sauce too, but it's not okay setting a new bar and bringing the city prices here. $5 per meatballs is a 600% markup I'm sure probably more. I tried their chicken scarpariello (or some $27 dish that has chicken and some sausage, but lacks a speck of peppers or sauce at all). No, I do not enjoy it. To finish it off on that trip I got brooklyns pre-packaged coffee custard... I'm fine with it not being a chef meal, and I obviously had to get coffee custard in my mouth... so the meal was about what I expected. That coffee pie was interesting and pretty good but they must have not picked up that brand contract again or something. That's gone. They've now got tiny juniors cheesecake bites. Anywho I've tried a lot, been mostly let down but the customer service is good through the app and texting, the in store staff.. who knows you never see anyone, it feels cold and manufactured without any face or humans until someone walks your order up and shoves it between the shelves. Broccolini - tiny tiny tiny portion, mostly tasty except for whatever bits of cheese or béchamel or whatever that was supposed to be. Ripoff. I sent a picture and said nothing and they gave me a credit. Brisket - good and decent but their pricing/portions are real questionable. Carrot soufflé - enjoyed thoroughly I dnno I can't go listing everything... or can I? Grape leaves / soulmates - good, a bit firm, tightly wrapped and a little dense but not bad at all. Hummus - good and fine but thimble sized portion. Chicken pita - good Create your own bowl at the yasas or whichever was good as well. Wonton soup - fine.. I guess? no need Egg rolls - freezer isle mush, pass Chicken and broccoli- had no broccoli, quite salty. Thick af chicken, not what you're expecting, plentiful chicken pieces. *Pass There more, the meatballs were about the best tasting thing if I remember right, I'm Gnna try one of Bobby Flays reheated steaks and when that lets me down I think I'll call it quits on wondering any more... well, wait, I saw a few things I reallllly do want to give a chance, and that's most of the Thai place menu, the Korean cheese seat and chicken bang mi from Fred's... Reviewing places you never actually step into always feels a little weird, but that's kind of the wonder (pun definitely intended!) of Wonder. I mean that's not so interesting because when my wife and I ordered Wonder two times over the past few weeks from the new Holbrook spot they delivered it just like any Grubhub/DoorDash/UberEats person would. What's more wonderful (besides free delivery albeit with service fees still in place) is the fact that you can pick from so many different places to try from. Huh? You see, the concept of Wonder is to take a plethora of food styles and put them all under one roof. No, they're not flying to Michigan for your Detroit style pizza, but they give you options for places that are legitimately from many areas of the country. It creates a fantastic situation in which you can combat different cravings within your household and even mix and match items from a variety of food styles. That idea is just so amazing, but does it land? Mostly. Through two orders of Wonder grub, my wife and I (along with her parents on our second order) had a wide range of foods from many Wonder-held spots including Streetbird, Tejas, The Mainstay, Wing Trip, Fred's, and Royal Greens. I'd say almost everything ordered was close to delicious with some items even knocking my tastebuds out. Case in point would be items like the Korean cheesesteak from Fred's which combines the gooey/cheesy/meaty yum of a cheesesteak with some Korean kimchi and sauce flare, Streetbird's spicy chicken sandwich (accompanied by their hot maple chili sauce) which were wondrous, the roasted garlic mashed potatoes from The Mainstay which packed such a delightful garlic punch, and the Texas-style pinto beans from Tejas which were potentially the best beans I've ever eaten. And the crazy thing is you can get all that in just one order! So why only a "mostly" for if Wonder pulls off such a fantastical feat? Well there's definitely some inconsistencies as we ordered onion rings from The Mainstay both times and they definitely varied in amount and crispiness. Shishito peppers from The Mainstay were also nothing out of the ordinary despite the description (I think I can make better ones at home), and there is a lack of customization on many food items which can be tricky for pickier people. Overall, I'm still definitely a Wonder fan. After two orders I'll say that though everything is not absolutely amazing, there are a lot of truly delicious items to choose from. The variety will make this a place that I plan on ordering from again and again. Perhaps one day I'll actually go inside and see what the interior looks like (you can choose pick-up too if you prefer), but for now, I'll continue to just...Wonder...that and let the food come to me! read more

This review is strictly based on the food as we had it delivered. The order was correct, and still fairly warm when it arrived. Everything was individually wrapped and clearly marked. It was interesting to see the directions for how to make the food on a receipt attached to the box. My husband wanted the brisket again, so I decided to get something else. The brisket did have sauce this time, but he said it wasn't as good as the first time. I tried the Mexican spot, Lime. They didn't have a chicken quesadilla so I went with the carnitas one. It came with three sides so I went with the rice, beans, and pico de gallo. Ate here because we had a coupon for 50% off your order. I ordered a burger and it was similar to a fast food burger that didn't taste fresh. My wife had a rice bowl which was okay. Other members of my family tried a few other things that tasted okay but definitely not worth the money. The ingredients were very fresh and laid out nicely. Staff were helpful with questions. The seating area was clean and tidy.

I don't live within their delivery range so I scheduled a pickup order. The concept is multiple restaurants under one roof. They probably receive the items refrigerated or frozen and then put them in an oven to complete the process. Either way, the food was very good. The prices were extremely fair, and the employees were nice as well. I received a text stating my order was ready and when I got to the counter, it was a quick process. Such a good idea. Tried TEJAS BBQ Brisket sandwich,tasty sliced very thick,also the pulled pork sandwich-one wrapped in foil,the other just in the cardboard box..tasty as well. The pork was chopped in chunks & didn't resemble the usual way you get pulled pork.The pickled onion was a nice addition..the fries were lukewarm..we picked up our order. Also tried the mushroom & goat cheese from WALNUT LANE. The description was 3 types of mushrooms-however these were only sliced button mushrooms..tasty also but goat cheese slathered on with a sprinkle of the button mushrooms could have been better.We also ordered 2 chunky cookies from ROOM FOR DESSERT as well as coffee custard pie which was very good. So I tried the chicken from Streetbird. The brown sugar bbq sauce and the pickles were amazing. But the chicken tasted exactly like Tyson frozen chicken, which was very disappointing. Popeyes is better than that for cheaper as well. read more

So far, I've ordered chicken Pad Thai from SriPraPhai Thai and a chicken souvlaki bowl from Yasas. Unfortunately, neither restaurant's dishes had much in common with the many authentic Thai & Greek restaurants I've been to. Yes, Yasas is described as a "spin on" Mediterranean food. However, the spin seems to be implementing the "production line" style popularized by many Tex Mex restaurants. Great concept, many restaurants available for takeout under one roof. We received a 50% off our first order (up to $20), so we thought we'd give it a try. First issue was their website.... Be careful when you're ordering because there are other restaurants that are not included on the Wonder site, but NOT part of Wonder. Only the ones that have a W are included. Confusing! After we finally figured that out and got everyone to pick their restaurants there was check out. Wondering why the $20 wasn't taken off? It is because there is a $10.95 fee. Knowing this at the beginning would probably have deterred us from ordering in the first place. But the time it took to get all of this together I just hit complete order. I have been to this place twice but not sure if I will go back anytime soon.i ate at the place the first time I went there and the tables were not cleaned very well and there was no ambience there at all. I felt like I was in a cafeteria. I got the poke bowl from Hanu poke and it was good, not great. My wife got a salad from Royal Greens and she said it was ok, but they didn't give you enough dressing. She had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to come out of the back to get more dressing. The second time we ordered out. I got the brisket from Texas barbecue and fries from Fred's since they don't offer fries at Tejas . My food was read earlier than they told me to get there and I was 5 minutes early. The problem is was the food was not hot when I picked it up and there was no one to talk to when I picked up. Brisket was ok, fries were cold. We got a salad for my wife at Royal greens again and again not enough dressing. The salad was big and my wife liked it but since we got takeout she couldn't get more dressing. Overall it was an ok meal but if you're going to advertise all these great chef's restaurants the least they could do is have the food hot when you pick it up. I only live about 5-7 minutes away so it wasn't because it took me a long time to get home. I'd rather go to local burger or a neighborhood restaurant than spend over $40 to get cold food and no service. read more
