    Chicken teriyaki

Great place, it's cheaper than sit down,, very fast, fresh, and the food is way way better than sit downs. I always get the chicken teriyaki, with the juice , so good. Little Tokyo is the best food I ever had.

    Shrimp teriyaki with fried rice

Not bad- I did like the shrimp a lot. The other stuff was a bit lacking in flavor though. Also would've been nice if the fried rice had fried egg in it. On the plus side, the portion is generous and food was ready quickly.

Little Tokyo in the Smith haven mall has been here for a long time. I remember this nostalgic spot since I was in high school. This place was awesome back then. Decided to have lunch here one day shopping at the mall. Food wasn't bad, just not nearly what I remember it being. I got the chicken and shrimp combo. The fired rice was under seasoned and overcooked, and there was very little attention given to the vegetables. Chicken cooked well, but the shrimp quality disappointing, frozen little nuggets that wasn't clearly wasn't deveined. Not exactly friendly either, robotic in a way. Listen, it's the food court. What can you expect. For the location, being at a mall, not the worst choice, but don't expect high class Japanese cuisine.

Every time I come to the mall I HAVE to eat here. As soon as I enter the food court it's the first thing I smell. Fast, fresh and never a disappointment. I recommend getting extra meat for more of that savory goodness. Little Tokyo is great! I definitely recommend this business.

I crave this food, so do my kids. This place has been around forever because it's tasty and consistent. Tonight we tried the Melt Shop and weren't impressed so my daughter got a teriyaki chicken right next door. We all feasted on it, so good.

ive been coming here for years you can get whatever you want they'll even let you get a teriyaki entree with no vegetables, no rice, just vegetables, or regular and they wont upcharge you. if you prefer noodles to rice you can substitute them also. the people who work there are all longtime employees so theyre really experienced and the prices are great too. try to catch them when theres still chicken on the grill though bc if it runs out while the other batch hasnt finished it can be a 5-7 minute wait.

Twin of the well known Sarku Japan in every mall food court. Japanese fast food! This time I got the teriyaki chicken with fried rice and veggie combo! Must try!

Found a piece of metal in my food, eat at your own risk. Noodles were terribly greasy.

They charge $15 for a little bit of meat and a whole lot of cabbage and vegetables ridiculous overpriced, and a scam. Don't go back.

First time going to Hoshi Sushi for the all you can eat weekday special and I have mixed feelings. We were the first ones there, so we got a nice table by the window with the ship. Clean seating. Beautiful and delicious sashimi and sushi. I don't go out to eat often, I make minimum wage, but this was a birthday lunch for a friend I haven't seen in awhile and I made it known I was buying their meal. All you can eat comes to be around $30 per person and tax is $67 and change. I rounded out the cost and tip to $75. That's about $7 and a half. Call me cheap but that's what my budget comfortably allows. Why am I being hassled by the waiter that I need to pay from the suggested tips, when they see I wrote in a custom tip? I asked why I couldn't write a custom tip, they reiterated that I should choose from the suggested tips. The math is already done, it's easier. I point out that it says suggested, can I really not write a custom tip? I ask my friend if that's normal, they have eaten there before are just as bewildered. I ask this question to ask if this was how their restaurant works and if I missed something stating so. They get upset and said I should at least tip 18% because the restaurant doesn't pay them a wage and they only earn tips. I'm shocked and state that's illegal, they don't say anything more and continue to stare at me. To end this interaction because they continue to stand at the table, I write the 18% tip. It's not worth turning what was a good lunch until this point into a sour experience. They leave afterwards and my friend and I get our things and go. Being a waiter is tough work and everyone deserves to earn a livable wage. I don't know if Hoshi Sushi doesn't pay a working wage for their waiters. That should change if that's the case, but I can't bankroll you. I don't like surprise expenses. I don't appreciate being pressured into doing things without explanation. List the fact you expect tipping to be at least 18% on the website or order slips. I would've come to eat here even if I knew about the expected tipping price because I hear the quality of fish is really good. 18% of this meal is $12 and change. I understand it's not unreasonable if you were to split the bill. But this went from $75 to $81 something with a blindsided unpleasant exchange with the wait staff.

The Snowy Mountain Roll had salmon, cucumbers and avocado and it was topped with spicy salmon. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of this one. It was good but it wasn't great. The space strikes that perfect balance: polished yet relaxed, modern without feeling pretentious -- ideal for a date night, a family outing, or just a sushi-craving solo visit. What really stood out was the customer service. The staff greeted us warmly, made sure our drinks were refreshed, and guided us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm (not just rote "what can I get you" service). It's rare to feel this level of attentiveness in a busy sushi spot, and it really set the tone for the evening. Now, onto the sushi -- simply outstanding. Every roll and piece of nigiri felt thoughtfully prepared: the fish tasted fresh, the rice had good texture, the presentation was clean and appealing. The specialty rolls offered fun flavor profiles yet didn't sacrifice sushi integrity. Whether you're a sushi purist or a roll-lover, there's something here to impress. One local reviewer put it succinctly: "The service is very prompt ... The food was delicious. I highly recommend the Miso soup and the Volcano roll." JCS Sushi Bar Chinese +2 Restaurantji +2 For us, the standout moment was when a simple nigiri plate -- beautifully sliced salmon and tuna -- arrived with that delicate, almost buttery texture you hope for. Followed by a roll with a little heat and crunch that hit just the right note. Ambience, too, gets props -- clean lighting, comfortable seating, and the sense that the kitchen cares about what's leaving the pass. If you're looking for a sushi place where service is as good as the food, Umami delivers. Whether you go for a full meal or this place becomes "our go-to", you'll walk away planning your next visit. Highly recommended.
