And this one stood out right away. Light to medium-bodied, led by bright cherry notes with a subtle hint of spice, and a smooth, easy finish that keeps you going back for another sip. Balanced, elegant, and just bold enough without feeling heavy. Definitely a bottle worth savoring.

It was such a nice way to unwind and honestly made for a really fun date with my fiancé. Elisa was absolutely wonderful. She was so sweet and incredibly knowledgeable about the wines, and we had so much fun learning about everything we were tasting. We got to try some of their newer releases, which was such a fun part of the experience. The Viognier was definitely my top favorite. I loved it so much that I ended up getting an extra splash at the end, which was so kind of them! The Cinsault was interesting because we were told to expect cherry, Jolly Rancher, juicy and fresh flavors, but for us it came across a little more bitter and dry than we expected. The Grenache reminded us a lot of the Block 9 Chateau Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon, if you've ever tried that one. We also got the charcuterie board to snack on while we tasted. The grapes were especially crispy and fresh, and it was nice to have something to nibble on, especially because I was so hungry by the time we arrived! I had read some of the previous reviews about the board, so I came in with fairly low expectations. It definitely wasn't the most elaborate charcuterie board I've ever had and probably wouldn't be something I'd order again for $20. It felt more like a pre made snack box than something especially memorable. We still completely finished it, though! The space itself is so cute and beautifully designed. We happened to go on a sunny day and the natural light coming through the windows made it feel especially bright and inviting. It was comfortable inside and never felt too hot or too cold. I also love that Sama Cellars is right in the heart of Redmond Town Center, so it's really easy to make an afternoon out of it. There are so many shops and things to do nearby that you can easily browse around before or after your tasting. Overall, we had such a lovely afternoon. The service was wonderful, the atmosphere was peaceful, and it was genuinely just a really enjoyable experience. I'd definitely come back to Sama Cellars for another afternoon of wine tasting!

They do have a good wine list, but the pricing is HIGH. Think $25-$45 PER GLASS. Some of the wines this made sense for, but they really should consider adding a wine or two below $25 per glass. I have my WSET 2 and know a decent amount about wines so could understand why some of them were priced like this, but the whole menu being this high was strange. $32 for a glass of pinot noir didn't sit right with me. We asked to do flights so we could try a few things, but they said they were only doing glass pours. We asked for a rec for an acidic, fruity red and felt like the gal just told us the most expensive non-tannic red on the menu. Fine. For $32 a glass, I would not order what I got again. We headed to a restaurant after and got $14 glass pours that we preferred. This is a great place to go to impress someone with the chic vibes, but good wine can be found elsewhere at a fraction of the price. I do see the appeal though. It was also pretty loud when we went, so we chose to finish our conversation elsewhere.

Not too difficult to get a weekday reservation, but the restaurant was completely full and we definitely snagged the last parking spot in the outdoor lot, so I'm not sure where the overflow is. Bread Basket (2.75/5): A lot of the bread options were a bit stale and it's pretty expensive for nothing to stand out. Oysters (4.25/5): Probably the best bite. Super fresh and not fishy at all. Crab Cake (4/5): Good crunch and crab added some sweetness. Very solid. PB&J Foie Gras (3/5): I was most excited to try this, but I can't say I actually enjoyed it. It was interesting, but the foie gras was a little too gamey. Salmon Agnolotti (3/5): Agnolotti was good and portions were solid, but the salmon was barely seasoned / extremely under salted. Key Lime Pie (4.25/5): My favorite part of key like pie is the crust so this was right up my alley. Rides the line of tart and sweet with some extra freshness from the berry sauce / coulis. Chocolate Cake (4/5): Cake was moist and the chocolate lace added a nice crunch. Not the most luxurious / dark chocolate, but satisfying nonetheless.

Obviously the person on the grill wasn't trained or wasn't paying attention. Pacing was also a problem. Waited pretty long to order. Then salads came while we were finishing last bites of the appetizer. Then entrees came while I was literally in the middle of my salad. Talk about rushed. That salad would have been good if the shaved parm had been shaved. However, the pieces of parm were huge - really thick. Can't imagine who would think that was a good bite on a salad. The Broccolini was half cooked. I could barely cut the stem with a steak knife. Obviously. I couldn't eat those stems. They did not have a flight of wine that was all reds (i don't drink white wine). So why 4 stars instead of less? The mushroom toast appetizer was fantastic. I shouid have stopped there and would have been happy. The ceasar dressing and large crouton were good, even if the shaved parm was a bust. Once the steak was served to me medium as I'd ordered it, it was delicious and the fries were crispy and went well with the steak. I enjoyed the glass of wine I ordered. I hope they get their act together - such potential!

Arrived at around 7 pm with no reservation, but they were able to get us seated up at the bar. They were busy with drinks as there were group parties surrounding us at the bottom floor. At least they let us know and did not ignore us like last time. We ordered a glass of wine for each of us, it was to our liking. We also ordered dinner. Food was pretty good. More filling than we thought. I ordered the Risotto and the husband ordered the Chicken Romero. Both were very filling and delicious. Overall, will definitely come back.

Big yikes to Seattle Restaurant Week at Purple…read more I have been going to this location for years and had probably the worst service experience I've ever had at a restaurant (and that's saying a lot). To be charged a 4% service fee is a bit crazy based on the service. Our meal took over two hours even though it was a set menu we ordered right when we got there. We didn't have time to be enjoying drinks or anything in those two hours as our server ignored our table completely. At multiple points in the meal we had to walk inside and ask for things and if they were coming. So we were just sitting hungry staring at one another. If our server saw us, he would walk the other direction. This happened multiple times throughout the night. I think in the two hours we saw him once at our table but he did not appear overly busy. Everyone at our table has had service jobs before and know you cant help when you're slammed but he seemed to just be floating in space around the restaurant, not overly busy. We ended up needing to flag down other servers to get help. The other sections servers were helpful. Once we sat down and ordered, it took over 30 minutes to receive our glasses of wine. The meal continued to be a mess. It took 30+ minutes between courses, including our desserts being forgotten. One persons got brought out way before everyone else's and our server asked if we liked the bonus dessert. We had to inform him we didn't receive any bonus dessert and it was just hers came out way before anyone else's even though we had the same orders. The only saving grace was the food was tasty and generally well cooked.
