We came for the freshly made rice rolls on weekend and left impressed with the soy milk, beans sprouts, flat rice noodles and tofu pudding. Cash only - local tofu joint with so much freshly made product. The weekend special rice rolls (cheung fun) are freshly steamed and worth the wait - steamy and super silky. Make sure to sauce up your rolls before leaving because the entrance gets crowded due to the line. Do refrain from eating them too fast though because they come out piping hot. It's a tofu shop first, so there is no seating available for you to sit and eat. On the line, we saw many cars from local businesses in the area pull up to pick up buckets of tofu and 10 pound bags of bean sprouts. Beyond the weekend special steamed rice rolls, we could tell from the bustle that their other products are very popular with the neighborhood restaurants. If you are lucky, you will be able to see the flat rice noodles (Ho Fun) being made behind the steaming rice rolls section. I highly recommend trying their other products too - their tofu pudding blew us away with how silky it was. One of my friends came back the following week for more of their fresh soy milk (still warm in the bottle). The shop is big, but only a small spot to order and stand since the rest of the back area is for producing fresh rice rolls. I got a soy milk and it was fresh and still warm. It wasn't my favorite since I felt it was watered down. Good level of sweetness and slightly less viscous than the commercial options normally found in Asian grocery stores, probably because Wong Kwong Hop doesn't add any thickener or preservatives. Don't be intimidated cause it pretty much just looks like a little factory pumping out all the items and not really a storefront but once you walk in, you let the worker know what you want and he packs it for you. They're steamy, pillowy, and piping hot - all starting at just $3. Definitely recommend adding an egg in for an extra 50 cents. I was looking for a Tofu pudding place and found this place on yelp. It's a small place, barely fitting 3 customers at a time. There is only street parking and difficult to find. I was very lucky to find a spot out front on a Saturday at 10am. I ordered soy bean milk, tofu, tofu pudding, rice noodles and bean sprouts. My order came out very quickly. I used the noodles and tofu the same day for stir fry. They were so fresh and delicious. The tofu pudding and soy milk came out hot. They were also delicious. Prices were reasonable and cheaper than the JMart and super Fresh Supermarket. They only have the rice noodle wraps on the weekends and are made to order. Food: I saw this place on social media and decided to give it a try. It's a hole in the wall spot but has great food. They make and distribute tofu products to other businesses but also sell the products at their storefront. We tried the tofu pudding, grass, jelly, and rice rolls. As a main tofu supplier to many of the Asian businesses in the neighborhood, Wong Kwong Hop (旺廣合豆腐公司) is easily one of the most important businesses to the satellite Chinatown of Elmhurst. It's kept a fairly low profile over the years but has been a fabric of the neighborhood for over a decade. This is not a dine-in type spot, but primarily a takeout joint. There is no seating but just. small window from the outside with a menu that shows a variety of items made of rice flour or tofu that range from $1-3. In this pandemic era, this is considered an extremely good deal. Choices include whole bags of rice paste, noodle skin, and a bevy of tofu options that range from hard + soft tofu to fried tofu blocks, soy milk, rice noodle variations, bean curd dessert aka sweet tofu soup (豆腐花). They were slinging steamed rice noodle rolls long before the recent trendy shops came about and now serve it on the weekends largely because of the pandemic. The uber friendly Cantonese speaking staff that runs the spot is as old school as the venue itself. It hasn't been updated since it opened and is frozen in time, looking like a spot in Manhattan Chinatown (#1). While the staff definitely speaks English and Mandarin, the Cantonese is really the way to go. They are located right off of the LIE and parking is limited to streetside. Great place to get freshly made soy/rice noodle products which are made there. There is no real store front, just order at the entrance. I bought some rice noodles which are reasonably priced at $1 a piece. There is a slight discount if you buy a dozen. They package two per bag. The noodles are a bit smaller in size than the ones in the supermarket but cheaper. One piece is enough for one serving. If you don't plan on using it right away, the rice noodles can be stored in the fridge. The noodles will harden, so be sure to steam or boil them to resoften before cooking. read more

Came on a weekend morning and there was quite a line. Ordered a lot, from the "oil tofu" yo tofu, huh fun, soy milk and firm tofu. My favorite is the "oil tofu" yo tofu. It is soft, fresh, firm with that flash fried tofu skin. Then the soy milk, tasted fresh and slightly sweet. Turned the huh fun dough sheet into chow fun noodles. You can stir fry it or make into noodle soup. What a great silky and firm texture. Make sure you have cash because it's cash only. The service can be chaotic since they operate outside with 2-3 people taking orders. An elderly lady took our order and got the orders confused then in turn tried to charge us more. I was in the mood for something for lunch other than my usual preference of noodle soup, be it Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, or some other assorted lunch special. I noticed this "Friday through Sunday, mornings to mid afternoon" establishment and decided to pay it a visit because I recently discovered rice rolls, but the only places I knew of prior to coming here are in Manhattan's Chinatown. I came here at 12:30 pm on a pleasant Sunday afternoon and immediately saw a line of approximately 6 people snaking out the door. I was the only white guy in line and there were numerous Chinese language signs on the windows; if that isn't a sign that this is for Chinese people who want the real deal, food wise, and not for hipsters, I don't know what is. I ordered the following: 1 fish ball rice roll ($2.00) 1 dried shrimp rice roll ($1.75) 1 pork rice roll ($1.75) Total: $5.50 And watched them make it right in front of me; pouring the liquid in the pan, sprinkling in the toppings, and so forth. I brought some Rubbermaid containers to save them their plastic containers and cut down on waste and they gladly plopped the rice rolls in. I soaked them with peanut and sweet sauce and was on my way. Sadly, there is no exterior window for placing your order, so with the in-and-out traffic through the single door, it can get a bit annoying. I did not really taste much in the dried shrimp roll, the fish ball roll had three small meatball sized fish balls in it so that was impossible to not notice, and the pork fish roll had ample pork in it, which I would say was my favorite of the three. In summation, I will definitely be paying this place visits from here on out. When you want something good, cheap, and filling, yet you don't want street meat or your usual fare, give this place a show; doubly so if you've never had rice rolls. All I know is that a trendy Hispanic restaurant sells a "Chips and organic guacamole" appetizer close to me in Forest Hills for $10 and I had a filling lunch for $5.50 three subway stops away. It comes with ginger sugar syrup. The grass jelly didn't have much flavor compared with a can version but if I want a fresh one I can come here. I can not believe I just found out about this place after 4 years in Queens. This little shop looked like just a noodle manufacturing place. Who knew they sold rice noodles ready to eat. The fishball rice noodles are and very soft that they fall apart very easily. You are allowed to add the amount of sauce you want. They also make rice noodles in front of you. You can add just about anything from corn to an egg. Their Prunella (sweet tea) drink is also delicious, it tastes just the way my mom would make it at home. They're only make their breakfast noodles on Saturday and Sunday, but they are open everyday selling fresh packaged noodles. There isn't a lot of space inside and it gets crowded when I go at around 1 pm on Saturday. They understand English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, so no pressure if you're worried about a language barrier.
