Rice noodles (bbq pork with egg)
    Lise H.

We came for the freshly made rice rolls on weekend and left impressed with the soy milk, beans sprouts, flat rice noodles and tofu pudding. Cash only - local tofu joint with so much freshly made product. The weekend special rice rolls (cheung fun) are freshly steamed and worth the wait - steamy and super silky. Make sure to sauce up your rolls before leaving because the entrance gets crowded due to the line. Do refrain from eating them too fast though because they come out piping hot. It's a tofu shop first, so there is no seating available for you to sit and eat. On the line, we saw many cars from local businesses in the area pull up to pick up buckets of tofu and 10 pound bags of bean sprouts. Beyond the weekend special steamed rice rolls, we could tell from the bustle that their other products are very popular with the neighborhood restaurants. If you are lucky, you will be able to see the flat rice noodles (Ho Fun) being made behind the steaming rice rolls section. I highly recommend trying their other products too - their tofu pudding blew us away with how silky it was. One of my friends came back the following week for more of their fresh soy milk (still warm in the bottle). Freshly made, this tofu shop is one of a kind and powers so many people and businesses with their delicious products. --- Note they are taking December off from selling their weekend only fresh rice noodles which I sincerely respect. Although I'll miss being able to pick up my weekend Elmhurst freshly steamed rice noodles, I appreciate they are giving themselves time to take a break.

Was in Elmhurst last weekend and had the chance to pick up some local staples--stop #1 was this place, aptly described by others as being a hole-in-the-wall. They have a small storefront and mainly provide house-made tofu and soy products for local restaurants, though also provide a limited menu on weekends (Sat-Sun) for direct customer take out, including soy milk, soybean curd, grass jelly, and a variety of steamed rolls with toppings. The setup is very simple, you can order inside, or at the window, they pass your order to you. Cash only. The soy milk was $4 for a half gallon and still warm in the container when I got it. Good level of sweetness and slightly less viscous than the commercial options normally found in Asian grocery stores, probably because Wong Kwong Hop doesn't add any thickener or preservatives. I enjoyed it and you can't beat this price for fresh soy milk. I've been meaning to try the rice rolls here as from the pictures and other reviews these look tasty and affordable. They happened to not have them available when I was there though I'll certainly be back to try them next time! There's street parking available. No seating or bathrooms as this isn't a restaurant.

A hidden gem in Elmhurst for all things tofu! Don't be intimidated cause it pretty much just looks like a little factory pumping out all the items and not really a storefront but once you walk in, you let the worker know what you want and he packs it for you. Every time I'm in the area, I have to pick up some tofu whether it's the tofu blocks or tofu puffs. The quality is great, can definitely taste the difference. I also love getting the soy milk, prunella tea, and the sweet tofu puffing with ginger syrup. All solid options. Everything here is very affordable, service is quick, and make sure to bring cash! They also have rice rolls which I haven't tried yet but will need to try next time! They make it fresh to order.

Street parking. Fresh made everything soy!! They only have fresh rice noodle rolls to order and made on the weekend. Everything else can be bought in bulk. I come here to stock up on the soy milk, tofu, and bean curd.

The steamed rice rolls at Wong Kwong Hop are BACK starting this weekend 9/28/24! (They had a labor shortage these past few years). This is where you get the best steamed rice rolls in Elmhurst, Queens. These fresh cheung fun are currently available only on the weekends. They're steamy, pillowy, and piping hot - all starting at just $3. Definitely recommend adding an egg in for an extra 50 cents. For the sauces, we get them all - hot sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and peanut sauce. Come earlier in the day, before 2/3pm, I'd say, before they run out for the day. Don't forget to bring cash to pay! While you're here, this spot also makes fresh soy milk and tofu in-house daily. Love their springy, cold, and refreshing grass jelly as well. This is a true tofu factory where you can just walk in and get fresh tofu, directly from the source. They distribute tofu to many businesses throughout Elmhurst, Flushing, and Chinatown. Pricing as of Sept 2024: $2 tofu pudding/bean curd dessert $2.75 grass jelly $1.75 soy milk $3 beef rice rolls $3 pork rice rolls + $0.50 egg

Tiny factory specializing in tofu and rice noodle rolls. It may seem like an unconventional place to get food, but just overlook the chaos and try for yourself. Everything is fresh, cheap, and delicious. My wife personally likes their soy milk.

Food: I saw this place on social media and decided to give it a try. It's a hole in the wall spot but has great food. They make and distribute tofu products to other businesses but also sell the products at their storefront. We tried the tofu pudding, grass, jelly, and rice rolls. The tofu pudding was smooth and enjoyable but not the best I've had in New York City. The grass jelly was really good and something I would get again. The flavor was good and it was very bouncy. Another highlight was the rice rolls. We tried three kinds of rice rolls - fish ball, Chinese sausage and pork. All three were delicious. The rice rolls are made to order and you can see someone making it behind the counter as soon as you place your order. Once it's ready, they will ask you what types of sauce you want on your rice roll. Sauces include soy sauce, hot sauce, hoisin sauce , and peanut butter sauce. I recommend getting all four sauces on your rice rolls. They also sell a variety of tofu products that you can purchase to cook at home. Service: Staff were friendly and welcoming! Ambiance: Since this is a hole in the wall spot, there is no seating. You place your order outside of the store and they will bring it out to you when it's ready. This is definitely a takeout spot or you can eat it in front of the store while your rice rolls are still hot. Overall, I highly recommend this place!

This small business has the freshest hot soy milk served sweetened and plain for $4.50 a quart. They make their own fresh rice noodles, tofu. You can get in small bags and also by large quantity. Prices are on the menu. They will be starting to serve steam rice noodles on the weekends. I can't wait to try to eat them again.

The egg roll was pretty good, probably the best thing about the combo. The fried rice was very bland. I would have preferred white rice, but there was no option to switch that on the delivery app I ordered from. The food was ready quickly and arrived hot. Overall there are better Chinese restaurants in this area, and I don't think I would order from this one again.

I know it's hard to rate white rice, but I love white rice and have standards to it. It has flavor and slight stickiness, which is my preference. The mapo tofu is generic like everywhere else. The sauce is not spicy and resembles the same brown sauce you find on other Chinese food. The tofu is great though - it's still soft instead of chewy. The ground pork tastes similar to the pork inside dumplings. The fried rice is super bland and could use salt. The crazy part is the pork pieces - they are AMAZING. They are on par with Texas BBQ. I could eat a plate of just the pork pieces in the fried rice. The egg foo young was really good too and huge portions. Overall, some things were flavorless and some things were amazing.

I have eaten inside the establishment, and have also ordered take out, as well as on uber eats on multiple occasions.
