    Veggie PHO
    Sam B.

Ended up here after our original restaurant plan was extremely busy, and this was in walking distance. Walking in there was only one other person in the restaurant during a weekend lunch hour. To order, we walked up to the counter. I ordered beef Pho and also spicy wings to share with my friend. This was my first time trying pho, and I was disappointed. While the flavor of the broth was delicious, as were all the toppings, the beef in my pho didn't taste fresh. The wings were also very flavorful, but again, didn't taste as fresh as I would have liked. While they definitely have potential with their flavors, I wouldn't go back for any dishes with meat. However, my vegetarian friend really enjoyed her veggie pho and appreciated it was loaded with vegetables.

Small place, interior is pretty clean, order beef broccoli off Yelp menu $11.95 end up at pick up was $18.95 plus tax close to $20 for a beef broccoli personally feels is overpriced. They should take down old menu picture instead misleading customers.

Lots of quick lunch options in the area but this one provides great service, large portions and authentic flavors. We ordered the sesame chicken, house fried rice and the beef noodles. The beef noodles were like I had stepped into China. I used to have that dish once a week when I was there, and haven't found a place that does justice until I ate here. The beef was soft and super flavorful like it had been cooking all day! Price is good, and on a cold day-this is a must! Sesame chicken was nice with broccoli but the house fried rice was even better, it comes with shrimp, beef and chicken. Lots of flavor and the service was awesome. Summer time looks like there is outdoor seating-can't wait to come back.

Wong's Kitchen was a nice stop on a cold afternoon in Providence. There was no line and quick service. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. We ordered veggie pho, beef pho, and the spicy wings. The pho comes with all the fixings on the side - bean sprouts, lime, mint, Sriracha, and a sweet brown sauce. The veggie pho was full of vegetables but no tofu, I didn't see tofu anywhere on the menu which would've been a nice addition for some protein. The beef pho had tasty broth but the meat itself didn't seem very fresh. Both pho's had a big serving of noodles and neither of us were able to finish. The wings were crispy and flavorful and not fatty, but not very spicy IMO. The place was clean, quick, and tasty. There was no line or wait like other similar restaurants nearby.

My husband and I could not stop thinking about this style food all week. So when Saturday rolled around, we had to order enough food for an entire family...for the two of us ;) We ordered pork fried rice, General tsos chicken, crab Rangoon, spring rolls, and a side of broccoli. They gave us 4 forks, people. When we got home, I realized the broccoli I ordered was smothered in the garlic sauce (which I asked to not have!) I was bummed because it was $10 for this and I couldn't eat any of it...and it was too late to go back at that point. So I called and received a call back from the manager minutes later and he took it right off our bill. I am okay with a business that makes a mistake, apologizes, and takes care of it. Shows integrity and now I know that I'll definitely be back time and time again (after checking my order before leaving hehe). Everything was delicious. Way better than a lot of places I've tried. The chicken was fresh and void of that soggy/greasy feel that other places have. Spring rolls were fantastic and the crab Rangoon was stuffed. Everything is priced well for how much food you get and the quality is high. We're so glad we found our go-to when another craving strikes.

I ordered the beef ramen and it was AMAZING I ordered it spicy and the spice was a great addition it was enjoyable. I asked to add a boiled egg which was only a dollar extra and it was very nice of them to do ! Customer service was very kind and inviting. Appreciate it !

With a large green and black sign, Wong's Kitchen is pretty hard to miss. There's plenty of seating inside and the owner is very attentive. For food, I'd recommend the Steam Table. The Steam Table's inexpensive and even though it has the presentation of a Chinese buffet, the options are surprisingly fresh and tasty. On the side, I also ordered the Beef Pho ($8.95) which was slightly underwhelming considering the frozen beef and small bowl size. If you're looking for good wholesome Chinese American food, this is the spot.

Great place! My husband and I came here for lunch today. It was really cute inside, the employees were very friendly and the food was really good! It seemed very well organized and it looked spotless! I had an order of Nime Chow - It was fantastic! The order came with 2 pieces, 2 different dipping sauces, one peanut sauce and the other, some sort of a teriyaki sauce. I also had a cup of won-ton soup. It was PIPING hot! It took several minutes before I could even take a bite! My husband had Nime Chow and Beef Noodle Soup (PHO), the Pho portion was huge and he said he enjoyed it very much. We will definitely be back!!

I came here on a Monday night to pick up takeout. I ordered veggie pho and it was ready when I got there. When I got home and opened the bag, I was surprised by the amount of food - there was SO much!!! Definitely enough broth and vegetables to last two meals. The one thing that wasn't great was they put all the vegetables together in a tiny bowl, one that was far too small to fit all of the broth. Which meant I had to find a larger bowl in my house somewhere to accommodate all of the ingredients. Once I finally got everything together, it was delicious! The broth had a slightly off flavor and some of the vegetables tasted weird, but besides that it was a great meal! Plenty of noodles which were also delicious. Very good price for the amount of food you get - I was stuffed afterward. If I were to order from this place again, I would try something different.

I walked into a space that is small and moody, the kind of room that feels lived in rather than designed for a particular aesthetic, and it suited the casual neighborhood feel of the surrounding area. The hot stone bibimbap is the dish that comes up most consistently and with the most enthusiasm. I ordered it and the stone bowl arrived sizzling. The rice along the bottom edges got crispy against the heat in a way that changed the texture and flavor of the whole dish as I ate through it. The beef and mushroom tofu versions are both well executed, and the egg on top finished the bowl correctly. The katsu is a solid option for anyone coming in looking for something more straightforward. I tried it and the breading was crispy while the cutlet inside stayed tender, and the sauce ratio was handled well rather than drowning what was underneath. The gyoza, japchae, seafood pancakes, and yaki soba fill out a menu that covers enough ground to satisfy a table with different preferences. Side dishes are served in modest portions, which was the main point of friction for me since I am used to more generous banchan. Food came out at a good pace and arrived hot. For Korean and Japanese comfort food in Providence, Den Den is a reliable and genuinely satisfying stop.

Amidst being fresh and brightly colored, the dish was quite bland overall. I begged for some elevated heat and flavor profiles-- it definitely fell short and was not spicy in the least. And I'm not a fan of a grease soaked platter... maybe it settled while I drove home but I definitely mopped up oil with a napkin/strained. No bueno. *Sidebar: They have a delicious green sauce that was really tasty and quite frankly saved the dish. I opted for this in place of a sweet Chili Glaze sauce that is provided because I hate sweet flavor profiles in all things dinner! Lol MVP: A wonderfully kind and efficient staff... the order was complete, error free, prepared timely and everyone was very friendly. The best item I purchased was the SANGRIA topped with fresh pineapple! Not the food-- it was all about their in-house beverages. Unfortunately, the set up is almost buffet like with add ons (I paid extra for Pico de Gallo... this also elevated the dish. With the sauce I selected and the pico, the dish literally would have been as bland as a cardboard sandwich). Perhaps it's me-- my palette is pretty elevated and I love heat. Peruvian dishes aren't exactly known for bombastic flavors, spice and heat... but the crowd and utter lack of parking got me excited. Will I return? Perhaps... definitely for a different item (perhaps the roasted chicken everyone was eagerly ordering) and it's a must on the sangria option! But $32.90 for a very basic fried rice mixed with lo mein moment + salad (I tipped $3 amidst to go).... Nah. I'd be lying if I said it was worth it. Lovely aesthetic and energy, however. I also got the Iced Rose Matcha drink - $10 felt too pricy for this but I wanted a fun drink and a little caffeine kick - and again the flavors were unique and tasty. Both my friend and I happened to see someone we knew here - it's definitely a popular spot! It was packed on a Saturday night but it was still pretty quick for us to get a table for 2. Being a downtown city restaurant, the tables feel a bit cramped and I was a little too close to the table next to me for comfort - claustrophobics beware (honestly the soup is worth it though!!) The only thing that was unpleasant were the bathrooms - I get it was a busy weekend night, but they reeked of a litter box the second you stepped in, the floor was dirty and very wet with unknown substances, and the Dyson hand dryer is at such a weird, too high level on the wall that it sprayed water in my face. Everything else was a dream, can't wait to go back! Hopefully the bathrooms were just a fluke.

When we went inside, there was only one other party there and no music, so just whispers and the sounds of utensils against plates. There are about 4-5 booths and 1-2 regular tables to choose from. Since l am not familiar with Sichuan cuisine, I had Al help me choose my dishes. I went with the dumplings in chili sauce, fried rice, eggplant in garlic sauce, and chongquin chicken. While we waited, we were given water. The dishes came out at different times. They first served us the dumplings which were really good. The sauce they were in did have some chili sauce, but it was mostly like a sweet soy sauce and really tasty. It came with about 6 dumplings with a perfectly cooked wrapper and filled with flavorful pork - simple but delicious. Next was the eggplant. I was expecting a heavy garlic presence, but it was more like a sweet and sour sauce. The eggplant was very tender, but really hot so we had to wait to let it cool down a bit. The rice came after. I honestly think this was one of my favorite dishes since it was perfectly cooked, great flavor, and good portion. Lastly, the chicken came out. There was a large pile of chicken, but half of it was peppers. The chicken was cut into little bite sized pieces, each fried perfectly. Some pieces were more tongue numbing than others but it was nothing aggressive; very gentle and comfortable numb. I would have liked if there were music, but the no music was fine too; an escape from chaotic reality. Our total was around $50, which wasn't bad for the amount of food we got. I would come back to try other items.
