I've eaten at many different pizza restaurants in New York City from famous places like Grimaldi's in Brooklyn and Luigi's Pizza (also in Brooklyn) to smaller mom and pop places and I can tell you that New York to Go in Bismarck is the real deal. The cheese, freshly made tomato sauce and crust are perfection! They use a NY water filtration system which helps give the dough and crust its authentic texture. The owner and staff are very friendly and accommodating, when I arrived they didn't have any new slices out but they very readily offered to make a new pepperoni pizza just so I could have two fresh slices, outstanding. My pepperoni slices were absolutely delicious not to mention big, foldable and very filling as they should be. Will definitely be going back again and am looking forward to trying some of their other entrees such as their calzones and gyros.

They also have a daily special by the slice or pizza. When I got home I opened up the BBQ chicken first, little spicy but really good flavor, it would be nice to see some cilantro on it for flavor. Taco pizza was probably the best I have had in a long time. Taco pizza was always a childhood favorite of mine so was happy to find a place who serves it m. The cakes are meaty, just-right-crispy and delicious and they are served perched on a bed of gorgeous greens. The greens are lightly dressed in a lovely vinaigrette and topped with perfectly roasted veggies and feta. YUM! We also ordered the artichoke and spinach dip. Delicious. AND served with plenty of yummy crostini for dipping. So many places skimp on the dippers, and it's always annoying. Not so at The Walrus. Service was prompt, friendly, attentive and efficient. The food itself is about what you could expect from a top local pizza joint. This ain't no highfalutin chicken Parm, but it's a solid sandwich. It'll get you a good meal with enough left for lunch the next day. The meatball subs always on point with meatbulbs that are too big for a single bite. An enjoyable mess every time. The sides are tops. Order a side of cheese fries and it ain't no small bag of fries with a 1 ounce cup. It's a full on side, a full respect appetizer size. Worth every penny plus a little gratuity, because they always do it right. I think I've only had six meals from this joint in the last three months.
