The number Yelp was originally showing was just a number which forwarded to Total Reclaim's Seattle facility but, Portland's Metro Recycling hot-line had the latest info. on Total Reclaim's Portland location. I dropped my Styrofoam at Total Reclaim's drop-off site at 5805 NE Columbia Blvd, two blocks west of NE 60th, and on the north side of Columbia Blvd. Their local phone number is 503-281-1899. Total Reclaim, Inc. accepts all sorts of stuff (computers, home and office electronics, TVs, stereo gear, even some appliances, you name it!) and it all gets 'reclaimed' so none of it ends up in any landfills. So, you can do-the-right-thing, and get rid of that garage full of electronics, appliances, plastics, styrofoam, and fluorescents, all with a short trip to NE Columbia Blvd.!

I arrive at the location and both gates are open and sign posted in front reads the same hours. So wouldn't a normal person believe the business was open ???? I wasn't the only one that thought this way yet I get there and I'm very rudely told they close at 4:30 and argued with me saying he had no control over what their business sign says or what their phone recording says because according to him both sign in front and phone recording are things the business doesn't control. A homeless man had seen the same signs on separate visits to the business so he walked over 2 hours to get there in time only to be rudely turned away as well. Portland has great curbside recycling, but where do those items go? If you bring your non-ferrous (not iron or steel) metals to Calbag, you will have a pretty good idea of where they go, because they are pros. What's a pro? Then they trade those on the world market. I usually just drop copper house wiring off for free, but they also buy metals, and will be sure it gets recycled. Same would be the case for aluminum, like storm windows without the glass. Keep in mind this is an industrial facility, be safe and respect the workers. Industrial buyer of non-iron/steel metals for recycling in Portland's industrial area that will get it to where it needs to be reused.

I called them after the delivery to let them know they delivered the wrong product and they blamed their supplier for the color difference and said sorry but too bad. They never gave me a heads up prior to my order about the color difference. I would never have ordered if I knew it was brown. I spent hard earned money only to be mislead on what kind of product I was getting. Now half of my yard will be brown and the other half is black. The first picture is what I ordered and is taken directly from their website. The second is what they delivered. Clearly it is not the same product.

I come from Portland (west) and their entrance is kind of on the middle of the curve (from the 223rd on-ramp it'll make sense when you are driving) it just kind of sneaks up on you. Been here a couple times now and it's a real easy process. They open at 7:30a-5pm mon-fri, 9-4 Saturday, and close Sunday. Follow the signs and wait at the office for an attendant. Starts at $12, It hasn't been very busy, and you kind of on your own unloading. I have only dropped off tree limbs and yard debris; on my way out I see you can purchase lots of different ground material. From other yelp reviews, they look like they have pretty decent prices and are pretty satisfied. I will be looking into possibly purchasing something for my yard. It's definitely place to check out!

I arrived at 5:02pm to find the gate closed and the staff at the gate turned me away. Her response was to come back the next day at 8am (when I'm working). I under stand operation hours, however the rigidity displayed by the staff was unhelpful given the small size of the load I was trying to deposit (a single couch). I'm sure there were still other customers inside at the time. The hours of operation are ridiculous as well. It is a disservice to customers for the waste station to have traditional banker's hours and not have alternate hours available during the week. These hours conflict with the availability of most working customers.
