Caveat- have not used their services so cannot attest to quality of actual work. However, I have submitted online forms, called multiple times during business hours over last 4 days to try and get a quote. I have not received any form of communication on their behalf. Even a "thanks for calling, we are busy" is a professional touch. I have two gas fireplaces that had difficulty lighting. I called Wooden Sun to service the two fireplaces. Wooden Sun cleaned electrical junction switches, including wall switch and told me the fireplace was igniting consistently. Was told that further problems might indicate a failing valve...whatever that is. Wooden Sun told me the den fireplace was not generating sufficient millivoltage to light the burner. They cleaned this one too, but said the mill voltage was still low and would recommend replacing the pilot assembly as first step and to replace valve as suggested for living room fireplace. I agreed to replacing pilot light assemblies for both fireplaces. But was told they didn't have parts with them in their truck and would have to return. The service call fee was $165 and Wooden Sun advised me that second service call to bring parts they didn't have with them would be an additional $165 service call fee. I objected to paying for two service fees. I was to that pilot light assembly cost would be $400 each plus service fee of $165 plus labor. The afternoon of their service call both fireplaces stopped working and would not ignite after repeated attempts. I called Tiger Fuel after Wooden Sun would not return to correct their failure to perform and service for my two fireplaces. Tiger fuel replaced pilot light assemblies in both fireplaces for under $200 each, and the fireplaces have ignited consistently since without issue. I would not recommend Wooden Sun as a service repair for gas fireplaces. read more

Nothing but solid experiences with this company. They have serviced two sets of gas logs for us over the years and recently did a long-needed chimney sweep and service of our zero-clearance wood burning stove in the basement. Total scam artists. Every chimney, even new ones, can have cracks in them. These guys "inspect" your chimney and then give you a $15,000 quote as to fixing it. This quote is on your receipt, so having them come clean your chimney becomes a liability. They will not remove this outrageous wording and quote from the receipt. Steer clear of these scam artists and find an honorable chimney sweep. Seriously, stay as far from these guys as you can. read more

Blake came over and cleaned our chimney and installed a chimney cap to seal the chimney from rain and downdrafts. Wooden Sun did a great job and was very careful to keep ashes from entering the house. It took only 30 minutes to install the chimney cap. Very pleased with their work. read more

Called to request chimney cleaning/inspection and estimate for firebox repointing in December. Had to wait until February for cleaning, which is a long time but I know it's the busy season, so could live with that. Guys who came said they couldn't do repointing estimate. Didn't get another response from Wooden Sun until late March, when they said they're too busy but would send a contractor. Contractor sets an appointment, but cancels last minute. We reschedule, and he cancels again the day of. Finally comes out and looks on third try. Now I've been chasing him for two weeks to get an estimate (which I still don't have, despite another promise yesterday). I'll find my own brick mason, and a new company to clean my chimney from now on. Beware, Wooden Sun doesn't seem capable of dealing with demand, so you may be left waiting...and waiting. read more

Starting off with the positive, my fireplace is up and running. The work was impeccable and my fireplace was left in perfect condition. There was no mess when they left which I greatly appreciate. Now for the downside. Getting a quote is useless. Only the thermopile and thermocouple had to be replaced so the cost of parts was minimal. The labor rate adds up quickly so be warned that a simple repair could end up costing you almost $500! I'm very happy it has all been checked and everything is running great but if I need service again I will have to do better research. read more

What a wonderful company and outstanding customer service. We contacted Becca at Wooden Sun requiring a cleaning of our gas fireplace . When my husband made the appt we were shocked that they were able to work us in so soon. On the day of the appt the tech (Josh) showed up 15 minutes early and ready to work. Josh was not only knowledge of our 12 year fireplace put pointed out possible future concerns that a few hundred dollars would have taken care of vs $5000 for a new unit. I couldn't believe how new our unit looked and operated when he was done . My husband stated that Josh was the most knowledgeable and professional service tech that he has ever met. We have used other fire place companies in the past but Wooden Sun has to be the BEST! As for the overall experience on a scale of 1 to 10 .....10!!! Thanks again Josh and Becca!!!! read more

A fantastic company to work with. Technicians are knowledgable in their trade. Chimney sweep service is more than just having liner brushed. The trained technicians cleaned and inspected system while using safe work practices aloft to clean from top of chimney down. Every part of our home was protected from dust during cleaning process.
