It is Saturday afternoon. My 93-year old dad and I go for a nice dinner at Jalapeño's and then decide to go to Woods Coffee for a latte and to wind down. We get there at 10 minutes to 6pm. They have no sweets left; they take our order for a leftover scone and two lattes. We get a table. Few minutes later we get our coffees. Three minutes after that, staff "Jorge" comes over to tell us that they close at 6pm and we need to leave. We are surprised to hear that they close at 6pm, particularly on a Saturday. We ask for 10 minutes; he tells us we got 5 minutes. "We are not allowed to have people in here past 6pm..." he adds. Sounds like total BS to me but, whatever, we didn't come in to get in an argument. Anyway, we rush, get up and leave. Would have been nice if they told us they were about to close before they took our order and sat down. It took my 93-year old dad five minutes just to walk to the table and sit down. I haven't been to Woods in awhile. Now I remember why. I have no reason to be back any time soon. read more

This location is cozy, warm, and has great seating. It's a wonderful place to sit or to use their drive thru. The coffee is always fresh, hot, and delicious. This may be because I'm from the East Coast and I've only grown up on Dunkin Donuts, BUT WOODS COFFEE IS AMAZING. We stopped here en route to Vancouver and I was shocked to learn that Woods is chain. The level of customer service here, and aesthetic of the location led me to believe it was a cute little local owned spot. The environment inside is warm, gives off a nature vibe, and also almost got me to buy every single merchandise item that Woods has. I got a blueberry smoothie which was excellent. I want to say that it was made with oats, banana, blueberry, spinach, and I added protein powder (plant-based) to mine. Thus, I wasn't left believing that it was just filled with sugar, and actually left me full and feeling GEWD. For my drink I got a dirty chai the first time I came here and caramel iced coffee the second time. The caramel iced does not need any add-ins such as milk or cream I found it to be perfect as is (coming from a lady who cannot drink her coffee black). Quite sad that this isn't on the east coast, but also don't want it to become a nationwide chain and have any chance of losing it's excellence. THANKS WOODS, ILY. read more

Late in the evening seems the best time to come if you are looking for a place to sit and read or meet up with a friend. The service is slow, but friendly; the music is loud so bring your headphones; the variety of seating is seemingly unlimited. On this trip in, my husband and I shared a large (20-ounce, I think) avalanche (minus the coffee). Great coffee and food. The service was very confrontational and fake. This location isn't my favorite.

The coffee is good. One time my brewed coffee had like an inch of sludgy grounds in the cup. Lattes and iced lattes have been fine. Baked goods are actually tasty. Service is meh. Especially when you compare it to the folks across the street at the Woods in the Haggen, where they are super helpful, friendly, and attentive. This location not so much, busy or not busy, its just meh. I wouldn't say anything except for the fact that I have a point of comparison. It's an expensive habit though, I can't afford the Large Latte Life, or even the medium... 2 drinks and 2 pastries comes up to $16... ouch. I will be back though or more likely walk across the street. read more

This will be my new favorite Woods location as it's well designed for meetings or intimate gatherings. Two floors, each with a river rock fireplace, several booths, tables, and a raised bar area with a nice outdoor view. On the second floor, there was also a glassed- off conference table made from Woods slab-edge wood. Really nice place with an industrial feel warmed by all the real wood. This Woods location is conveniently by the cinema and various Barkley restaurants. This is my most frequented location due to their late hours. The least impressive Woods by some margin. Chronically understaffed, shocking cell service and unreliable internet. The staff struggle mightily but I am sure the ebb and flow of this location make it difficult to staff appropriately and the company seems to have just thrown In the towel resulting in consistently long waits to place an order. The coffee is ok but certainly nothing special and certainly not worth the wait when there is another chain just across the road in Barkley village. The layout is great. Plenty of power outlets and the staff are 'woods' polite. Getting the staff numbers right would instantly lift this location to a 3.5 star. Solid internet - to a 4 star. read more

Located next to the cinema in the Barkley area- this is a comfortable two story location that has a welcoming vibe. The location has always had friendly staff, quality drinks and prices that are average. One suggestion I would have is for their iced drinks they offer 16oz and 24 oz (no 20 oz) the way they present this though seems a bit off when in actuality it is the same sizes that Starbucks offers for iced drinks. I would think that when someone orders a Iced Venti drink they just provide the 24 oz size verse saying they do not have a 20 oz (which I know is what venti means). The service has taken a HUGE nose dive since the massive staff turnover about 4 months ago, and I won't go to this location anymore. Was out here for an even this past weekend and needed a coffee fix. We noticed that this chain was all around the area so decided to give them a try. Pluses, they have coconut milk for their drinks! The sizing scheme is all based on trees (Cedar, Spruce, etc) which was interesting, but I since I don't remember what the sizes correspond to I'm not sure how effective it is =) They also had a drive-through window so it's convenient to drive up and head out. I ordered a small latte with coconut milk and it wasn't bad. Someone else got the iced coffee with coconut milk and the coconut milk didn't fare so well in that drink (it looked like the coconut milk in the coffee was curdling a bit so that might not be the best thing to ask for. They also had cake pops that seemed to be enjoyed by my colleagues who ordered them. read more

I left a movie early and walked over to Woods to get a drip coffee and wait for my companion. I stepped outside to smoke a cigarette. The coffee was lukewarm. I finished the cigarette and went back inside Woods and told the barista the coffee was lukewarm. She informed me they were out of drip coffee. I stood there for a second expecting her to offer to make me an americano. She did not. So I asked If they had a microwave. Without even glancing at me she said no, just an oven. I should have been offered a refund or an americano but was treated as if I was a nuisance wasting their time. The manager reached out to me and promised to correct bring it up with the staff.
