Initially, I thought it was weird to make a review about an optometry office, but at the end of the day, I am a man who can appreciate and recognize quality, customer service, and overall quality service being given, so I knew it was about time to make a review for this place. I've been going to Dr. Solomovici and staff for around 2 years, and I never feel really scared or I feel like an idiot when I go over there, I just bring myself, and they'll take care of the rest. I know that sounds kind of ridiculous, like why would I be nervous to go to an eye appointment, but honestly, if you compare that to how you feel going to the dentist, or going to the doctor, one of the main differences is how the actual staff makes you feel, and sometimes that heavily dictates your perception of the particular practice, and Dr. Solomovici runs an amazing practice, and has a stellar supporting cast - the girls at the front are always friendly and happy to assist, and that should not go unnoticed. I'm very glad I literally live five minutes away from this place, so long as I don't change insurance, I'll be here for as long as I possibly can. Thanks, Woodside! read more

I was a patient for Dr Liat for over a year. I believe she is a smart, competent optometrist and her office is great. Sadly, my eyesight is such that it was hard to balance near sight and long distance. I totally understand this may be difficult to do. When I called for a refill of my contacts a month or so ago, I mentioned for this upcoming annual visit, I would need to try again to see if we can better balance this. Surprisingly, the doctor called me back herself, and said she was dropping me as a patient! Not sure if they also sign a Hippocratic oath but this was extremely shocking behavior to me. I followed the doctor over from Costco about 38 years ago and have never looked back. She is the ultimate professional and as I tell people if anyone can figure out your prescription it is her! I literally had a coworker say years ago that no one could figure out a prescription for her to get contacts, but Liat did! She will give you trials if she has them for you to make sure you get the ones that work the best for you if you are close to two prescriptions. She also has a great selection of designer glasses to choose from if you want to buy from her, as well as the ability to order contacts for you from many different brands. She also accepts the VSP Vision insurance that I have which makes everything easy and affordable. Now that I've moved I drive 100 miles each way just to see her and it's worth it! read more

Dr. Solomovik is a really wonderful optometrist. I have been going to her practice for the past 2+ years. She is thorough when conducting examinations and skillful in getting the perfect prescription. When I noticed a sudden vision change recently, I called her office and was able to schedule an appointment quickly. Turned out that it was an ingrowing eyelash that had damaged my cornea. She resolved the issue effectively and scheduled a follow-up appointment to make sure my vision was back to normal. I am never disappointed with the care that I receive by Dr. Solomovici's. With Covid making scheduling doctor appointments challenging the staff has been very accommodating with my appointment due to my last minute work schedule change. Staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to contacts or frames. Office is practicing social distancing, wearing mask and gloves and they kindly ask patients to wait outside to have minimal patients in the office and I noticed that they are sanitizing has much as possible to keep the office and exam room clean. This is an excellent location mid peninsula for eye exams and prescription glasses, frames, and contact lenses. The staff, while small, are highly trained, friendly, and professional. It may take 3 to 4 weeks to schedule an exam here, so plan accordingly . Convenient times on Saturday and evenings, closed all day Wednesday and Sunday. Yes I know it sometimes is a drag to read Yelp Reviews that look like a college essay but I suggest you stick around. Dr. Solomovici is an angel! At age 9, my parents scheduled an appointment for my first eye exam. Since then I have needed glasses. Obviously as a child, you go to whomever your parents guide you towards. I am now 29 YEARS OLD and I would NEVER go to anyone else but her. From the good ol Costco days to now Woodside Optometry. With any good Optometrist comes the popularity in clientele. Yes, I sometimes have to wait 2-3 weeks to go in for a check-up but I can sincerely say I don't mind it because every single time I walk in that little cozy dark room with Doc, she smiles. She is kind, she is thorough, she is knowledgable, personable, approachable, the list continues. I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience being there. I just went in today, had my exam, awesome experience per usual. I expressed my desire of exploring a new option for contacts and immediately she found a great fit for me! Also found out I have stigmatism on my left eye (had no clue what that meant) she was able to explain easy peasy without me even asking. Truthfully, I believe in her blindly (no pun intended) even if she didn't explain, I would have just wore whatever she recommended no questions asked. THAT'S the kind of trust I have in her and that's not something I give out that easily. Hope this review helps encourage the visit. Wouldn't have typed all this up if it didn't come from the heart. Really good experience! My wife and I visited Woodside optometry a few months ago to get a couple of glasses made and order a few months' supply of contacts. Dr. Solomovici and all of her staff are extremely kind, patient, thorough, professional and experienced. Every aspect of our interaction was a 10/10 experience. Dr. Solomovici did our eye test and spent a lot of time explaining everything to us in great detail. Her staff let us take all the time we needed to try on dozens of pairs of glasses and explained to us the different lens options and our insurance coverage in abundant detail. This is a great eye doctor and she takes VSP which was super helpful. The doctor is kind and thorough and helped me identify an eye issue previously undiagnosed that I as relieved to learn is benign but requires some care. Easy parking and reasonable rates and office ours, but i had to deduct a star because it took a full week and 3 phone calls to get an itemized receipt from my contacts for my flex spending account and they nearly suspended my card for that. I've been here several times - once for an exam, once for a fitting, and once when I broke my frames. Without fail, the staff is friendly and helpful and the Dr. is cheerful and willing to take the extra few minutes necessary to put my mind at ease. Plus, they not only let my kids try on what seemed like every pair of frames in the store but actually encouraged them! My in laws referred me to Dr. Solomovici at Woodside Optometry. By far the best experiences I've had with my children at an optometry office. She is friendly and thorough. Dr. Solomovici went over any concerns and answered all the questions I had. The staff are amazing and friendly, they helped my children pick out glasses and are knowledgeable to what looks good or if your finding a particular look. They have an assortment of brands. The office is clean and everyone sanitizes equipment in front of you which is a plus! Patients are to asked to wash their hands before starting and temperatures are taken. They also participate in social distancing and are accommodating. When I scheduled my appointments they go through the steps when you show up which was thoughtful and appreciated. For the past few years I visited Dr. Solomovich's practice in RWC. She is patience and actually listens to her clients. She does not try to upsell like many other optometrist do now days. Which is a big plus (she does have a very nice selection of pricey glass thou!). I had a pair of glasses with the right prescription but somehow they didn't work too well - I went back and explained her the syptoms, she took extra time to find out what was wrong with my glassed and asked the lab to re-work them with different material. After having the good fortune of 20/15 vision the first 40 years of my life and only needing OTC reading glasses in my 50's, suddenly 8 years ago I needed different types of surgery on both eyes and prescription glasses. Over the next few years I visited several optometrists in Palo Alto, but none of their prescriptions gave me good distance vision for both eyes. This year I was lucky to discover Dr. Solomovici who was the first to refract my eyes and suggest diopter changes that actually work, plus a Crizal lens coating that has greatly reduced glare while driving at night. Hands down, the best optometrist I've ever visited. As long as I live in the Bay Area, I'll be seeing Dr. Solomovici for my eye exams. When I tried to schedule an appointment for the first time, they were booked up until the next month! Speaks to the quality of their work, they are in high demand. I asked to be notified if any openings came up, and got a call about a week later. Dr. Solomovici was very friendly.
